Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?
Time
As previously mentioned (here & here) Comedy Central's Daily Show did a segment on "Election Wars"

"Election Wars" Explanation via: latimes.com

"As lawmakers prepare for elections, George Lucas joins them in promoting their 'innovation agenda' for U.S. competitiveness.
<cut>
Lucas was seated next to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco), who was mocked as Darth Nancy in "Election Wars," a "Star Wars" spoof screened by the National Republican Congressional Committee during last week's annual House GOP retreat."

Also on friday's "Attack of the Show" (Mash Up Show), they went to a comic convention and filmed various SW things like the Mace Windu award for geekiness and the Elvis Stormtrooper. Rebroadcast on Sat. 18th 9 AM.

BTW: Please attempt to only post dates and times of tv broadcasts with references to SW in this thread. (upcoming and recently past, supply rerun times if possible (tv.yahoo.com can help you find them))

Power of the Dark Crystal info
Time
Yeah this press release points in all the right directions. The massive list of tie-ins give me some chills, hope they don't influence too much. Hope they bring back the lady who sang the Kira song, it's offkey but extremely poinent. I guess with Farscape gone, the Henson animatronic department went looking for a massive project to work on. That Queen Kira picture give me the creeps, though.

Mac OSX DVD Shrink equivalent?
Time
I did a burn to Video_TS using Toast of the project i'm working on (i've got a 22.5GB DV file) and the results are just over a DVD5 in size. (4.71GB) I'm looking into purchasing Final Cut Studio (need to upgrade my machines processor... and get a bigger HD...), but until then is there a DVD shrinking application for mac which someone can recommend? I'd just like to get a copy off my harddrive just in case something bad happens.

I concur with MeBeJedi, that what ever graphic/fonts/sound elements you've got which might be helpful, throw them up somewhere to dl. Also as Greencapt said, discuss what your looking for or elaborate on where the name came from, any random bits of info, which might spark something creative. What's the font used in the current .avi you posted? it's the same font from 24 but i don't know it's name offhand. Is that a font you want to stick with?

Here's a quick test of some logo manipulation. The timings are off, but it a step in a direction:

All comments welcomed, i've put in that folder the .ils and .aep for those who wants to muck around.

Would this intro be Star Wars specific? I got the idea that maybe after the words you've already got, there would be an apt SW clip. Thus:
"A Not For Profit" (insert Watto saying: "Republic credits no good here" whatever the line actually is)
"Fan Created Preservation Project" (insert the Han Shoots First Clip)
etc.

Idea: An unofficial Original Trilogy Bittorrent tracker? (The PIF Tracker?)
Time
http://blogtorrent.com/
This is a free application/set up helper which can make a blog which contains torrents.

The creators of blogtorrent (downhillbattle.org) also have a more robust system called Participatory Culture (http://participatoryculture.org/) which is design to be a free tv like distribution system utilizing torrents and other feed technologies.

Idea: babyhum's proposed new <strong>Studio Ghibli</strong> project (* unfinished project *)
Time
Every Thursday on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) this month (January) they are playing several Miyazaki films. Before each movie is a discussion between John Lasseter (Pixar) and the TCM host. The bad part, it's the Disney English release, but Lasseter is very excited about Miyazaki.

Help: looking for... Does anyone have the Turkish Star Wars?
Time
TSW and other films like it are out of print and have nebulous copyright claims in the US, so distribution of it, is more or less legal. Bizarre and rare film sites like revengeismydestiny.com have copies to purchase.
