Where did the huge influx of retards come from?

I also collect Drunk Driving Reports. They are phunnie too. I want to be the announcer of a tv news program one day that only does reports about deaths from Drunk Driving.

For those interested in Pro-Ana's representation in the field of music, this thread contains songs which will make a decent mix disc:

These people are doing these things to themselves, and you can yell and scream and make fun of them all you want, in many ways the attention you provide the members there is exactly what they are looking for, and it fuels them to continue doing it. The internet is about varying view points and co-existing with many of them. And the site isn't about encouraging others to do what they do, these people get together to discuss a common topic, there are not Pro-Anna advertisements anywhere. People who have similar thoughts go there and discuss their habits. Same as we do here.

Personally I think Pro-Anna is kewl. it means more people are going to die quicker. That's phunnie to me.

Well finally something SWTV-ie goes to non-UK residents. According to rebelscum.com Star Wars Shortened will be available online at the Sky Movies Website.

tf.n has an article about the SW Saga in HD on Cinemax in November.

The Comedy Central Roast of Bill Shatner (Sun 10pm-11pm) might have some SW jokes in it since Carrie Fisher was in the audience.

and AotC will be on Fox Aug 27th : 7pm.

Uhmmmmm.........what? [in reference to: Do movies have to be enjoyable to watch? I would say no]
What, you don't understand what i'm saying or you don't agree with what i'm saying? I've seem projected material which i don't enjoy, but i appreciate why the creator made what they did. (there's a classification called "Irritainment" where the definition is something like a train wreck which you know your suppost to be repelled by, yet you watch it anyway. the OJ Bronco tv news footage is a commonly given example of this genre.) Maybe this is a problem with the definition of "movie". I have a very broad definition, others would classify movies as only Hollywood things. But i'm confused by what your getting at from your short statement.

MeBeJedi wrote:
Sorry, but that's not a requirement for criticizing a movie. You may not like their opinion, but they are as entitled to it as you are yours. You are just trying to get them to stop saying anything negative, so your rationale is on as flimsy a basis as you perceive theirs to be.

Your exactly right, since this is a discussion forum and since the discussion had more or less stagnated. I took it upon myself to find a point in one of the many posts to move the dicussion "somewhere else". Since the poster had made the point that Scanner Darkly would have been better if they reworked the material like Blade Runner did, i was asking how they would have accomplished that. I even gave some suggestions on how a future director might do that to help along the thought process. The original poster never replied and that discussion stopped. I don't remember making any comments about that posters opinions being invalid. But i have strongly disagreed with about 95% of this thread. You still get to make the decision if i'm crazy or they are. But for the time being i'm the crazy one since i don't seem to be convincing anyone.

And I don't get where you keep calling this visual a "challenge". How the hell does it make watching the film a "challenge". Seems to me you are implying that it does make watching the film difficult, which would imply that it actually detracts from the film, rather than adding to it

I called it a "challenge" because so many people say they cannot/will not watch the film because of the style in which it is presented. I watched the film and do not consider it a challenge, but others do. The fact that even with the ability to watch 20+ minutes of the film for free, and they choose not to, shows that some aspect challenges their notion of what a film or movie should be.

A touchy subject
Time
These guys are right up there with Sacha Baren Cohen on real life mockery/foolery. There are other "preachers" using SW to gather a new audience. And i'm glad this guy did what he did, when he did. Going to the SW premieres and following through with all these schenanigens toward a group of people waiting months for a movie, is just a hoot. For those who haven't seen it, and want the rantings of a real 'faith' based person, get the Star Wait DVD.

Ok so Bush and part of the Bin Laden family. Got any facts to make this more enticing? and feel free to speculate what this meeting of the minds is going to do with their new found cash supply.

FYI: one of the Bin Laden family members might have a tv show this fall on American TV. She's a singer and has linked up with Madonna, are we to assume that this is part of the conspiracy too?

terror plot in London(foiled)
Time
There have been 24 people arrested in England, and another 7 in Pakistan (5 Pakistanis and two Britons). Age range from 17 to 35. Two woman (one with a 6th month old child the other pregnant). One of the arrested had converted to Islam. The rest I guess were already Islamic practitioners. One person who was arrested has been released from custody. It also seems the arrests have expanded to Italy where another 40 individuals have been alleged to be part of a similar attack.

That's the press release from the Bank of England which froze the assets of the arrested individuals. Their names are in the pdf.

The most laughable part of the liquid ban, were all the trash cans they made everyone dump the stuff into. If these liquids (when mixed) we're being thrown into garbage cans, wouldn't one of them have exploded by now... More likely they enforced the ban jus to get the message out. But there are times when clearer heads think rationally and said this type of ban is stupid and counter productive.

But with all the limits on airplanes, maybe this will force the airlines to provide more space per passenger. The public should demand it. They've taken away your elbow space for years, now they've taken your computers, magazine, sustenance of life (water) and.... well most people will just deal...

I disagree with Starkiller, there's no way to adequately individually search everyone in a train system without making the average trip 2-3 times as long. There's going to be bad eggs, and they'll do some damage, but is it worth wasting thousands of people's hours of time to catch a fraction of those crazies. If searching on a train system is ok, why is that same searching technique not used on all the cars on bridges. There's 10 bridges into Manhattan, none of them have any searching going down. More bomb material can be in a car then on a person. And there's just as many people going over those public transportation infrastructure, why aren't the car drivers getting the same "protection" as the street walkers?

What I belive is: the people behind this plot is doing it for the profits generated by the industries that benefited from the post 9-11 scenario

Ok so the whole Military Industrial Complex of companies like Halliburton who had a short run of the profits until they got sidelined with contract renegotiations. Whatelse you got? Oil companies? Is Colgate or Crest on your list? Do you think the inidividuals at these companies are doing this consciously, or is there a hive mentality which drives them to make decisions which favor actions like 9-11? We're the people who worked in the Twin Towers part of this Economic Cabal? If you don't want to write your thoughts feel free to post links to others who share your opinions.

So how do you avoid giving your earned funds to these corporations since they are capitalizing on activities you don't agree with?

Blah Blah Blah, they're just trying to increase the sales of toothpaste.

But seriously, one of the reasons they found out about this plot, was when one of the conspirators contacted an aquaintance in Canada who then tipped off the British police. Hope that individual gets a big reward.

I wonder if they liquid explosive they we're attempting to make was like the stuff in Legal Weapon 3? Or we're they looking to make a series of smaller explosions which would affect cabin pressure, instead of one big one which would ignite the fuel?

Personally, i dispise the loss of freedoms we are experiencing on public transportation systems. I've refused the police searches instead of getting on the New York subway system (luckily i only have a 15 block walk). It's just a drag, i'm of the opinion that these "terrorist" like attacks will be thwarted by human intelligence not police searches. but i don't know how to get others to agree to that opinion....

Well what conspiracy theories are you all focusing on. Missiles being launched from the airplanes... The second plane attack being a media presented digital recreation...... The govt could/should have shot down United 93.......... The Pentagon hit was a US missile............ The CIA was in Building 7 so it's collapse could have been orchestrated, but there's just not enough facts to make a swayable opinion piece. As for Saddam, the world finally had a tyrant who made the mistake of invading another country, after being removed from the invaded country, the UN asked for his cooperation, he didn't comply, repeatedly, so the next step was removal. The UN can't do that, but the UN can ask nations to take up the task, over 30 gave their support.

Having popped out of the subway shortly after the first plane and watched the second one go in, this movie is irrelevant. It's frustrating that still after this time passage, we're still not able to get access to all the information relevant to this event. There should be a public database at this point, so those who want to learn can. If there was, I doubt people would be interested in a movie such as this.

This movie is just a retelling, that's how we pass along information, and we'll i'm not interested. But I am interested in the people who did see the event live and then watch this movie and point out the differences.

Luke VS. The Abominable Snow Man/Wampa in ESB - oddly enough, the wampa didn't hit him in the face
Time
Well if he was hit in the back of the head, he then proceeded to fall off the Tauntaun (2-1/2 to 3 meters) to the ground, which most likely was ice. That would leave a mark. Then he was dragged to the cave, might have flipped over a time or two on the way there. So this is "Plausible" as the Mythbusters would say.
