That would certainly be radical. I'm thinking crawl and closing credits only.
Perfect!

But cutting a stupid scene? =)
Hmmm... Well, I thought he was a pretty evil jerk in AOTC anyway. I mean, he killed innocent women and children, and then bragged about it later to Padme... Sounds like he's walking the Sith line right there.... Even though it was stupidly written. Why would Padme marry someone (a known pacifist) who admitted to killing innocent life? Hmmm.... THINK, GEORGE, THINK!
Me too.. Interested to see this.

But still, Nute is talking it up with Sidious like old friends by hologram in ROTS: "The plan has gone as you had promised, my lord." or something like that... WTH? I guess you could remove that too...?
Yes, I believe you can lose that scene too. Anytime any Neimodians talking can be cut... That's a good cut.
Maybe just cut the lines when he mentions Lord Sidious promised peace... Then it works, because Grevious sent them to Mustafar. And in their minds, he was Dooku's second in command.
It is problematic for sure... But Dooku could be simply trying to trick him into joining the Sith... Maybe he feels if he could just get him to join him "to destroy the Sith" then he can begin the brainwashing process... Because the thing about the Sith, every one of them wants their own apprentice. To what? Overthrow their master. Vader did it, not too terribly far fetched to think Dooku would want the same way. He's just sneaky about it.
May still be completely retarded, but it's slightly less than the current state of the film.
Wowsers. Time consuming.
Never noticed... Not sure it bothers me either. But perhaps I need to see it. Anybody have any stills?

i used the motion tracking stabilising function that's standard in After effects, but since CS4 After effects comes with an amazing program called Mocha that is a much better motion tracking software than its built in one.
I did not know that... I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for the feedback guys...and thanks for the link to JasonN's edit, TV's Frink. Very helpful indeed.
I'll see if I can clarify:
At least for now, I'm not going to bother with TPM. I'm not saying I don't like the ideas presented by Bingowings, but I'm not ready to edit anything from TPM. lol Dooku has lost faith in the Jedi but still uses the force to his advantage. Dooku is honest. No more lies or creating mistrust. Instead it should be obvious what he wants. He knows about the Sith being involved but doesn't believe it will do any good to go after them-
...hmmm that sounds stupid. This is where it's getting frustrating. I don't know if I can really achieve this idea. If he actually does want to go after the Sith to destroy them...why doesn't he? Instead he kidnaps Palps. This isn't logical. But IF I simply cut the line about him wanting to destroy the Sith how will Dooku achieve his goals? And what exactly are his goals? Forgive me, Bingowings, if you've communicated Dookus goals already...it's a bit hard for me to wrap my mind around some of these ideas you've presented. :)
Thanks for reading...hopefully I don't sound too much like an idiot! ;)
How about this for an idea.
Make Dooku seem like the rogue Jedi like you've been talking about.... Keep it going, let him play that part.. Give him a traditional saber color. But then use the original ending where he meets Palpatine to tell him the war has begun. Oh wow. He's not really a rogue Jedi at all. He was working for Sidious this whole time. Ep. 2 needed a twist, so why not let that be it for the audience. The audience always knows more than the characters do. But this whole time the audience believes Dooku is actually good.... And then pow, the end hits them... Then you have permission to allow his kidnapping of Palpatine in 3, because at this point you know they are a working together.
I don't know. Just an idea.
SteadyMove pro is a plug in for after effects and premiere... But After Effects can do it, just requires a few extra steps... But honestly, all methods can't be used in every shaking footage case. A lot of times if there is too much shake, and because of the shake the objects in the shot will blur because of the shake... And because it's there, yes, the shot can be stabilized, but you will get these crazy blur moments on the objects, because the blur was never eliminated. Just the shake. If that makes sense.
But of course, if you have case where it is a minimal shake that doesn't distort objects in the shot, then it can work very well.

This whole lightsaber thing you guys just brought up is way too much.
It's an interesting idea, but if it's not done correctly then this edit could fail and I don't want that to happen because I'm really looking forward to this one.
I agree. It's a bit much. At this point, is it so far-fetched that Obi-wan just gave Luke a random blue saber and said it was from his father? We all know Obi's not above a fib or two.
I'm voting white... Still want to know how you did it.
I appreciate it.
And please don't get me wrong. I think this is an important place. Fan-editing to me is a great practice. It forces you to think about story structure, and what works, and what doesn't. Very healthy practice for anyone who wants to become a better editor. And I think I have through this.
Alrighty..... So.... Here it goes.
At this point in time I'm putting this back on the shelf. I took a few days to pause and reflect, and I decided it needed to end here for me. I'm trying to get my production company off the ground, and I finally got my HD cam, so I feel my focus has to shift in a new direction. I love fan-editing, and it for sure filled the void while waiting for new equipment.. But now, I need to move forward, and work on my movies instead of trying to fix Lucas'. Not to mention I had 2 people as of late show a little interest in the project and that's about it. Hopefully a-man will fix his problems and make this edit work afterall.
Honestly, I feel Ady will deliver a Star Wars saga we can truly appreciate. I have full confidence that by the time he gets to the prequels we will have actual watchable films in the future.
I'm not leaving the boards completely. I still plan to float and let my thoughts be known here and there. But this is my conviction on the subject and it's time to do this.
Anyway, it is what it is. Thanks to all who was supportive.
Fair enough.
Yeah, didn't see his earlier post, Ripplin. Thanks.

Links still not doing anything for me Mr Ben.
That's weird. Zero issues for me. Just go to his channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/UncleBenja1977) and watch them individually there, maybe?
No worries Ripplin it's my own stupid fault for attempting to multi-multi-task.
I clicked on page one thinking it was the latest page and thought the picture links were new still images.
The workprint links open fine.
Honestly I don't know how I get through the day sometimes.
What are your thoughts so far, Bingo?
haha... Is anyone else interested in this?
Well, I hate the idea of a sports bar in a SW movie anyway. If I can figure out how to replace the TV's with something else... I will.
Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGdajIU0-tY
This will show you more of my work in the Ep. 2 footage, and how much I cut from the city chase... I also did color correction for the bar to make it look a bit more seedy.. It works in places, but in others I'm not so sure.
Again, feedback welcomed and needed!
yeah, I used the site on a frequent basis... Not sure when it's coming back.
Well, I thinking in terms of trilogy, I think the protagonist rule can be waived, but only in the sequels.. We need Luke so we can learn about the force, and all the rules of star wars in the first movie... And once that is established and our roots are made in the mythology, we can feel free the breathe more, and then you can branch out in different directions... But this is only forgivable if the story is good.. Which again, is the problem.
Even more ideally, on the tails of his statement, the Ep. 3 space battle is perfect and it even shows the friendship. But, then, when you transition again, you have Anakin with a new haircut, and all that jazz.. Thought it might be confusing... But heck, maybe it isn't.
Oh, and I haven't given up hope.... I still see that Lucas has to kick the bucket someday, and the property will be left to someone, and maybe those people are reading this thread, and to those people I say... Get Kasdan, get Christopher Nolan, and remake the prequels!
