The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

You know, I hear ya... But let's be honest here..... He's simply roping people in so he gets more hits on his youtube videos.... That's it... I would agree if it were anyone else, but he has always been "fishing" for more hits. That's it..  I mean, you say he's trying, but how? What did he do? He just slapped music over video. There was nothing to this.... That tells me he just wanted people to click the link, and that's it. Sad to say I did so myself.

Republic Ship:

Looked amazing and really felt like the OT which in way plays into my next point about Jedi starfighters. I would keep what you have done to the RepShip.

Jedi fighters:

Jedi fighters look good but i think you should keep with the colours of the original film. By showin the RepShip and then you see the Jedi fighters it felt to me like a preview of yet to come by the time we get round to see the OT. Make the RepShip colourless and the Jedi ships colourful. So later in the movie you see the empire slowly taking over. I think the same should happen in regards to the clone troopers. After the Empire starts to take over we should see colourless clone troopers.

I agree with these points now that I've read them. Not sure I agree with the crawl... I think I may like the red crawl... But what needs to happen is something uniform.... In other words if you decide to TPM and AOTC they need to have the red crawl too. Unless you plan on doing the entire saga, and plan on changing the crawl colors for each of the 6 films.

Bob, not sure how I feel about the one tone ships... BUT, you excite me with the possibilities...

The color may not even be wrong... It may simply be that we have been so used to the stupid over saturated colors that we aren't sure of it when see something that indeed does look like OT. I think what distracted me was Coruscant... Maybe mute the colors there? I'm not sure, just something to try...  But it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it stayed the way you have it now...

As far as the logos/crawl... I love the red, but I agree with and earlier poster, it would make sense if SW and the crawl were the same uniform color. How would that logo look in red?

Otherwise, I'm very excited with what you've been doing... You and your predictive masks! DANG MY 32 BIT SYSTEM! I WANT AE CS5! =)

That's not bad. I guess I could live with that. But I have to save I'm very partial to my idea of Anakin using 2 sabers when he tries to jump over Obi-Wan, with Obi Wan then retrieving the blue one. What did you think of that idea? Do you think it's technically possible?

Well Erik, I think it would be possible without too much effort. I also think it's a great idea. With that said. The only reason I'm shying away from it is that it would happen very very quick in my version of the cut, as I taken all talking out of that scene untill after Anakin get sliced.

This is my version of the final duel that I've had on youtube for awhile now. The section we're taking about happens right at 4:25 into the clip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiUVga0Cqk0

As you can see the amount of time that we see Anakin before he leaps is about 3 seconds. It's also a very bad angle to show him lighting up his blue saber. I'll review any footage that I've taken out of the part. But I'm pretty much sure any shots of Anakin at that point would have him speaking. Which I dont want.

Also if I was to go this route and make it look good, then I would expect a wave of people chiming in with. "If Anakin had 2 sabers on him, why didnt he use them both earlier in the fight?"

I'll still take a stab at this , and I'll post the results when I do.

**update** ok just looked over the footage taken out, there's a good shot in which to light up a second saber, but this shot also only lasts for about 3 seconds. I'll try it with this shot and see what it looks like. I might not get to it tonight tho

I had forgotten how amazing this looked. Wow.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time

Wow.. Two guys I really respect duking it out! Calm it guys. It's all good.

It's like I've said before, you do the fanedit that pleases yourself, not the masses.

MTHaslett, while I understand where you're coming from I still have to agree with Brash... I was simply trying to make the chase scene less crazy. I realize my way doesn't relieve the sequence of all the stupidity. But I do think it makes it easier to swallow.

Like Brash said; in the original cut Obi-Wan plummets a mile straight down, all the while Zam is still flying as far away from the two Jedi as possible... Anakin zips down to get Obi; they make their funny jokes and then, "Oh, there he is!"

But please, convince me otherwise. It's not impossible. =) Besides, I truly do respect your opinions. Thanks for keeping me thinking!

It would seem my habit of stumbling upon great posts too late has caught up with me again. I was extremely thrilled to see the youtube trailers, only to have my hopes shattered a few pages further ahead. (No offence InfoDroid). Not to sound too harsh about A-Man's editing skills, but is there a way maybe for Adywan to breathe new life into the Reborn project?

Since InfoDroid was excited about using Ady's Revisited footage, it makes all the more sense for the source to finish the job, no? Seeing how extremely talented Adywan is, I'm sure a project like Reborn should take far less time than say for example ESB:R (since it wouldn't take new input, budgets, etc..).

I was just like you when I discovered this thread. I myself have attempted this edit (several times)... It's one that is very hard to get right.

But who knows... Maybe one day ID and TJ will find new energy and try to tackle this again.  They were the founders of this style edit, and IMO had the strongest ideas, so I keep hoping.
