I know this is probably the wrong thread for this kinda talk.... And while I appreciate the work, J.... It's just sooo busy. It's so busy that I don't focus on what I should be focusing on... Mt attention should be on Obi-Wan but I'm busy watching all the Christmas lights. Does that make sense?

When Anakin enters the Mace/Palpatine duel what about not showing Anakin the Sith lightning (so he sees Palpatine as an unarmed prisoner like Dooku was)?
Mace brings his saber down and is blocked by Anakin's (as in ROTJ) and they have their conversation about ethics of killing Palpatine while Anakin and Mace are caught in a physical struggle (which mirrors the struggle of their polarised arguement).
Here Anakin is seeing a Jedi Master (someone who claims to be better than he is) about to do something he has himself done but has been racked with guilt about.
Is Mace any better than he is?
He also needs Palpatine to explain what he means about saving Padme as all Yoda can offer him is 'don't be too attached'.
If Palpatine is correct about the Jedi not being any better than the Sith he might be right about saving Padme too.
It adds validity to Palpatine's line if Mace has no problem with cutting down an unarmed prisoner.
When Mace is clearly not budging Anakin cuts off Mace's hand thus (in his mind) leveling the playing field as Mace has lost the ethical argument (from Anakin's point of view).
Then have Palpatine pull out the Force Lightning at the last moment by which time Anakin is so deep in the do-do that he can't see a way back.
That could be interesting.

So you could have an Obi-Wan clone called Ben who has a Padwan called Anakin and the original who is training the clone of Anakin called Vader.
Anakin turns to the darkside and adopts the identity of Vader because the both look the same.
Obi-Wan takes on the name Ben in exile in remembrance of his dead clone.
But how do you communicate that onscreen?

But man, Lucas has lost his mind. I mean really. I do wonder what he was thinking but, what a wasted opportunity... Like I had visions of what the clone wars would be as a kid... I imagined clones be far more interesting that just being simply soldiers. I mean CLONES and they never once tried to use evil doubles or anything. Think about all the twists you could work in with that... And we get a bunch of look alike clones and that's it... one set of clones.
And THAT is one of MANY gripes. The biggest being his contradictions in his own material.
But like you said, if he hadn't botched them up so bad, we wouldn't even be having this talk, now would we?

I think I said it fine the first time... Consistency period.
However, if you want to pull the OT card.... Yes, I feel there are some aspects of the OT that look far greater than the CG-fest that is the prequel films.
But as far as lightsabers go... No preference, just would have liked it if he picked a idea and stuck with it.
Lucas just needed to pick a flavor and stick with it.... I'm honestly fine with pointy or not... BUT PICK ONE AND STAY CONSISTENT!

I can't see myself using that scene when it is that obvious it's a vastly different ship.

Only problem with the AOTC reveal is that it's a different style ship than the TPM ship.
