The fact that his edit isn't very good annoys me even more. It sounded like a good idea, but it just devolves into random sequences and events without any emotional through line. His "twist" in the final scene is ridiculous and is executed very poorly. The only thing I would say I liked about it was his Jar Jar removal, which is admittedly very well done.

The edit has zero handle on the actual plot and character arcs of the movies, nor does it try to change and improve them. His structure is interesting, but he makes everything that happens in the movie almost pointless. Without Anakin's end to his story, there's just random people we don't care about doing random things. Basically he took what's wrong with the prequels and made it infinitely worse.

I just don't like his "I'm awesome" attitude. Most people that are awesome don't know it, and if you think you're awesome, chances are you are in actuality a douche bag. Which I would say is definitely the case here.

I will not be asking to borrow anything from this edit. Anyone with that sort of attitude I wouldn't want anything to do with anyway. I'll find my own way with removing Jar Jar.

I concur on every single point.  And wow, that ending... It's a rather glorious train wreck of an ending. Really he should have released that scene and called it a day. Youtupe craptastic indeed.

When I heard Liam Neeson had been cast, I was excited. But I also believed Lucas was drawing a lot from his 1st draft of star wars.... Anyway, in that draft, Anakin has a father named Kane Starkiller.... I thought maybe we were going to get Kane Skywalker father of Anakin. Oh well... Instead we got a Jedi master that was so important that he should have been mentioned in 4-6.... But alas, he's not.... Anyone remember when Lucas said he wrote the prequels 20 or so years ago... =/

It's no problem. I guess people just simply have no opinion on this specific clip. I believe I've made a firm decision about it.... Don't need to sit on this one for too long.

Meanwhile I'm chopping the battle of Geonosis to pieces and working on CC tests.

Before

After

Still working on this.

Too heavy. They look like more fake now because they look blue.

Teal and orange side effect for those who hate Michael bay :P

I say remove the blues for the CC shot at least 75% Then turn the altered reds/magentas to an oranger one like the original.

I hope you dont have problems with the skintones otherwise it will look crushed and fake ;)

Yeah, this has already changed a lot. Thanks for the feedback though. I think those changes are over at fe.org... Don't quote me though.

I had an utterly bonkers idea for edit of the whole saga while playing Ocarina Of Time.

In the game Link starts out as a small child and essentially put to sleep for seven years and wakes up in an adult body but with only the same memories but can travel back to being his younger self.

This got me thinking.

What if time travel was introduced into a Star Wars edit and more bizarrely what if  Luke was Anakin Skywalker using an alias?

He starts off as a small boy raised by his mother and not knowing who his father is.

He is placed sent live with his Aunt and Uncle to keep him safe and grows up to become Luke from ANH.

He meets Obi-Wan finds out about Vader, sees Ben Killed but hears him in his head, blows up the Death Star etc

But when he goes into the cave in Dagobah he becomes Anakin Teenager.

He lives through the Clone Wars falls in love with a senator turns to the dark side and Pregnant Padme goes into the cave on Dagobah and wakes up as Shmi on Tatooine.

Luke puts this all down to a bizarre dream (part of his training) but when he encounters Vader on Bespin he finds out Vader is his father but he knows he is also Vader (he is his own Father).

He then has to redeem himself.

Not sure how it would work but it's certainly an idea I haven't heard anybody else coming up with.

This would only work if a camera slowly shot down at a laying Chewbacca covered in rose petels.

Just a few thoughts... Some will echo what I've said in fe.org...

But I love the prologue as it is, visually, and musically it works. The voice-over works but there is too much obvious noise there. I'm not sure what you would do about that... I would suggest using longer fades to mask it more, or clip it just before you speak. As long as your voice is there, I'm not sure you'll hear the noise. I'm pretty sure you would drown it out, and I think you can do this without re-dubbing.

But that's my only real hangup there.

The Anakin voice re-dub could be great if done subtly. But I'm afraid to really know for sure, you'll have to jump in and try it.
