The inclusion of closer craft (obviously looking smaller) also sells this shot.

Added another SD....just to see what it would be like:

I thought it looked really good... But it seems like the frame rate is higher in the last shot. Is it 23.976?

No the whole project is 29.97...all sourse components correspond.......maybe youtube?

Totally possible. Also hard to make out frame rates over the computer I've noticed. Still looks good.

it's ok to be a drastic variation in this case because technically this would be the first time you hear the theme anyway.

No, it wouldn't be ok.  If this is the first time a viewer heard the theme, they'd think it was the actual theme, and then be confused when it's never heard that way ever again.

I'm a little late commenting on this, but seriously just about every theme in Star Wars has a variation. Why would this be any different? Because you're hearing K's version first? Confuse people? How? Sorry, just doesn't make sense to me.

I think it's great, and it's ok to be a drastic variation in this case because technically this would be the first time you hear the theme anyway. Great work.... Really, don't change a thing. It works perfect the way it is. I don't even think you need to add any elements to the new Natalie Portman shot. Seriously, just perfect to me!

The lifelessness. Ady was tired of looking at black and white space shots!

ah, the biggest problem with what i call the "digital generation". Everything has to be colourful all the time and sometimes to the point of over saturation. A main reason why much of today's effect and films just looks terrible and fake. The OT always had that monochromatic look to it. The colours were never over the top and in your face. The space scenes were always drab with flashes of colour here and there during battles and it worked. Now look at the PT and almost every shot has to be colourful and we all know how much that didn't work. This is one reason i think they added the blue tint to the OT (Ep's 4 & 5 especially) to remove that monochromatic look so it seemed to  be as colourful as the PT. Jedi was a little more colourful than the first 2 so maybe that's why the tint was hardly present in that movie.

You know, i just knew you would have to come in and post something like that even though this has nothing to do with why the TIEs are now blue.  Actually the TIEs have only a subtle tint of blue in the latest version (the video posted is an earlier video before the final colour of the TIEs was finalised). The true colour of the TIEs now is the light grey/blue to match the original colour of the models. Maybe you should actually have read what i wrote before trying to make out i have now contradicted myself.

And what is the real reason for this?

All hail the CG TIEs that made and will make these shots look great.

And it also has nothing to do with CG being used. The reason why i decided to add the subtle tint to the TIEs was because some scenes became too colourless almost like you were watching a black and white film. Now this is all down to the problems with the colour of the 2004 editions. Removing the tint also takes out the subtle tints that should be there (also they were lost because of the added colour tint). There is a huge difference between adding a subtle hint of colour and over the top oversaturated colouring like most of the crappy CG laden films tend to do. In some shots the grey TIEs got lost, especially when they were in front of a stardestroyer

As you can see the final colouring of the TIE's is very subtle and not the oversaturated blue of the originals:

I agree 100%.

How are you handling Jango.... To me, he is the biggest issue outside of Dooku flat out telling Obi-Wan about Sidious.

That's a really broad complaint. I've definitely made changes within the scenes that Jango exists, but the problems I fixed with him were in context of the scenes as I saw them as opposed to trying to thematically alter his character (like making Anakin not be a petulant whiner, or Obi-Wan a condescending a-hole)

So:

I cut him talking to Zam, now his first appearance is flying away via jet-pack.

I cut out Boba being a clone. Now he's just his son.

I trimmed the conversation with Obi-Wan, cutting out the terrible bits of dialog (I'm just a simple man...)

Fight on the landing platform follows Phantom Editor's edit.

Asteroid chase is kept but trimmed.

The Reek is no longer involved in his demise.

I hope you didn't think I was complaining about your edit. That wasn't my intention. Just voicing one of my plot issues with Jango. The problem for me is not Jango working with the Separatists, it's Jango working with the Separatists and being connected to Kamino. If I were the one investigating this whole situation, Jango would be my star interrogation. I would make him the priority as he is the template for the clones that the republic bought, AND is clearly working with Dooku. I would have too many questions, and Obi-Wan or the Jedi ignore this issue completely. It's a major issue to me.
