I'm wondering what happens when I release my edit over there with a simple "now available on FE.info."

I'm pretty sure he'll delete your pages like he did mine.

That's what I figured, although I did find this post from June 6, 2011:

In the future, any work branded or otherwise associated with "fanedit.org" can only be submitted by the author of that work. The author will need to register an account here, under the same name used at the fanedit.org website.

And you must carry a mark on you forehead, and proclaim "UNCLEAN, UNCLEAN!" when you are logged on.

I wasn't even talking bad about him at that point in time... I DO NOW THOUGH!

In June, 2009, Anti-Matter released his first fanedit title, Star Wars Prologue. It was the first documented and verified Star Wars prequel trilogy edit ever published into the fanedit community. A few individuals had tried (e.g., Star Wars Reborn), and many others did plenty of talking, posturing and promising, but not much else. There were also fanedit fraudsters who moved in quickly to rip off Anti-Matter's rotoscoping shots and scene revisions, passing off the work as their own creations (e.g., Star Wars Episode I-III: A New Beginning). Considering that the Prologue is what fanedit.org negatively terms a "firstling" effort, I'd have to say that Anti-Matter's introductory contribution to the fanedit community was nothing short of miraculous.

There are so many entertaining things in this paragraph alone, but I wanted to highlight the bolded one.

Thank you, Anti-Matter, for showing everyone how to do a prequel trilogy edit way back in 2009.  Furthermore, thank you for sending it to the Official Bureau of Fanedit Documentation and Verification for documentation and verification of the first ever prequel trilogy edit to be released before several other prequel trilogy edits that were released prior to June 2009 and yet somehow were released after Prologue.

Bravo!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......Ok, I'm done... Oh wait, no I'm not. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It doesn't help when you have Geonosis looking almost the same but red instead of yellowish/orange.

There have already been many stabs at making Geonosis less Tatooine like but It could go the other way what if  Tatooine in TPM was turned into Geonosis?

The Geonosians enjoy gladitorial combat so maybe they could like podracing as well.

Both are backwater worlds.

The Hutts could be putting up slaves to start their droid factories up.

It's a long stretch with a lot of story alterations to think about (how does Shmi end up in a Tusken camp does she move to Tatooine with her husband? In which case how does Anakin learn about this and know the place well enough to track her if he hasn't been there before? etc).

Just another crazy idea to throw at you to see what comes of it.

Or you could be even crazier and make Tattooine Geonosis the whole time.. Not more Tat....

Idea: Radically altering the Prequel Trilogy storyline one film at a time

I've often thought of re-writing the prequels. It would be interesting. I enjoyed the animated prequels thread that used to be fairly active as well.

I keep hoping that in my lifetime, maybe once Lucas leaves us, his daughter may have the sense to reboot the prequels and find some amazing directors to completely re-imagine them.

I know way back in the day, Lucas planned on handling the prequels in a similar way as the OT. He was to direct the first, and then he would hire 2 directors to finish. Names in the running were Steven Spielberg and James Cameron at the time. So, basically we probably would have still gotten TPM, but maybe some amazing follow-ups to wash the bad taste out of our mouths.

Those proposed changes were among my few nit-picks with the original release as well, so I'm happy to hear that they may be getting addressed. My only other suggestion would be to restore Obi-Wan's and Vader's confrontation aboard the Death Star, such that Vader's sabre is already lit when Obi-Wan meets him. In Revisited, Obi-Wan is the first to ignite his sabre, and I always thought that that had a significant (and unwelcome) narrative effect; it appears that Obi-Wan is not acting defensively, but rather offensively, which seems to go against both his and, later in Empire, Yoda's instructions about using the Force for knowledge and defence, never for attack. And likewise, by being aggressive and very much on the hunt for Obi-Wan here, it seems more in keeping with Vader's character and motivation to have him make the first move, as it were.
I brought this up with Adywan a while ago and he is considering it. He made Obi-wan light up first because he did in Episode III, but I pointed out that I think Luke failed at the cave in ESB because he lit up first.

Besides the torture needle, this was my only real issue. I have always loved when Obi-Wan finds Vader standing with his saber already drawn. It was just a cool moment, and a rare one I might add. He knew this is the guy that messed him up before, and he's pissed. Cool moment I'd like to see restored.

HOWEVER, could we please see this "in action"??  I really wanna see how this one fits, exactly.

Also, are you not using Across the Stars?  Will Anakin and Padme have a love theme?

 yeah coming soon

Sorry but no more Accross the star...I don't really love it. There is no more romance in my AOTC cut (the love story is implied)

The way I see it remedied (and the way I intend to handle it) is to make the love story more straight forward. He loves her, she loves him. No more conflict. The only conflict is keeping it quiet. No more, "We live in a real world, Ani... Come back to it!)  Which real world is she referring to anyway? =/

You really have to be careful when adapting themes from one fictional universe into another.

James Horner's Aliens soundtrack was really cheapened because he obviously recycled his Klingons theme from Star Trek III and even lifted from queues from the Star Wars soundtrack.

Even to this day I keep thinking the Bird Of Prey is going to lift Ripley off that landing platform.

Your adaptation of music from Superman in my view is too recognisable to be used in a Star Wars film.

Taking the odd sweeps and crash etc are fine but bending whole themes cheapens some of the really good work you have done.

It's your edit naturally but if I'm constantly hearing Smallville, for me it's hard to concentrate on a galaxy far, far away.

Very wise words, but it's not like I have copy/paste 1 hour of Superman soundtrack.

I have made one mistake : copy/paste "Leaving home" orchestration and progression :

Very good explanation, and I agree... Especially with John Williams. He's done so much that at times two themes sound very similar. You could have also easily compared the Hook theme with the Harry Potter theme as well.

Ok but if this could be done keeping the characters looking like Obi Wan and Qui Gon as per the original, but telling the story in this way and redubbing Qui Gon to be called Anakin then it would make a huge continuity error between episodes 1 and 2 but besides that I think it would allow for the story to improve so much that the benefits might outweigh that one error.

Glad you like the story though.

So we are to suspend belief and pretend that Liam Neeson is Anakin? Correct me if this is not what you are suggesting.

It cuts to the chase that way.

You learn that Anakin is a slave, that Watto owns him and his mum, that Watto uses him to race pods, that Watto may be tricked into giving the ship parts to Qui-Gon using his weakness to gambling.

Everything you need to learn about Anakin you can learn by Qui-Gon being lured home by Anakin.

On top of that Anakin transforms into a clever manipulator, he senses what Qui-Gon needs and turns it to his advantage and not the other way round.

Oh and it avoids the yippies, Jar-Jar antics and the "Are you an Angel?" nonsense too.

Hmmm. Very true.

I saw what you did with Battle of the heroes cutter, and let me say there's still something knightish in the first four notes of the main melody, perhaps the so wanted Jedi Knights motiv could be extracted or based in those first four notes?

I still think that something joyful could came out of Anakin's dark deeds; and I still encourage you to try it; but I have to say the new clip of Anakin and Obiwan, with your new music fits very, very well.

Another suggestion:

Please use (or work on it) the music you can hear at 6:08 of this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGMKCrUFuMU . It's a tense section, that I think wasn't used in the movie.

Cheers

Haha. Kinda sounds like Hans Zimmer's Batman theme with a little SW mixed in.

If you kill someone in an edit, be as random as possible. I loved the film Serenity even though they randomly killed my favorite character, Wash. In fact it may have been the fact that is was so random that carried so much emotional weight.

Sure wish Joss Whedon had been able to direct Revenge of the Jedi. =)
