I'm just thinking, and it might result in a very short movie if put this way, but...what if the Battle over Coruscant were placed closer to the end of ROTS instead of at the beginning?  What if the film could be edited in such a way that Anakin's tipping point was when he kills Dooku instead of his love for Padme?  It would likely take some amazing fixing up of the deleted scenes, but I can't help but wonder if it's possible.

I admit, that is interesting. Visually it makes a stronger climax. But I'm not sure how to make that work. How do you get them in the fighters, and in the air? Someone would have to produce some new material I'm thinking. I want to wrong. Make me believe that can work.

There is a Clone Wars (Genndy version) fan edit that eliminates the more ridiculous aspects of the cartoon. I understand it was a very good edit. Point being, those very aspects that you despise about could mostly likely be cut.

Just stating that it does grant you some needed filler information such as a Grevious  entrance, and a Palpy kidnapping. However, who knows... Maybe the new show will fill in those gaps soon enough. One thing you have to say though, Genndy's Grevious is far more menacing than the one we got in ROTS or even the new series.

i really like the approach of jumbling TPM and AOTC into an Episode I, and ROTS into an Episode II or III. It gives the viewer the choice to have a clone wars movie as Ep II or a fan film as EP III.

Has anyone seen the dark ressurection films? I wonder if these could be cut/dubbed into something? An alternative EP I prequel-prequel possibly?

What are the dark resurrection films?

They're the closest we get to Spaghetti Star Wars films. The lightsabre fights are unbelievable. And all the men have amazing beards.

I was already on board when you said "amazing beards" but wow. What I've seen is pretty impressive. What's the total runtime for it all?

ALSO there is the possibility of having clone wars movies as EP I and EP II, with ROTS as EP III. I was wondering if you could create a PT just from CW episodes, but it might be a bit too WTF when you reach EPIV.

Yeah, do 2 episodes with TCW, and then let ANH be three... Yes, it's a WTF, but a welcomed one... Then the gap has to be explained by the classic films. Which it does. Just a thought.

So, edit the entire series? Some episodes were ridiculous, but there were several episodes that connected.

If you have a few major tasks in my opinion. First off, making TPM work as a standalone film. It's terrible, we all know it's terrible, but like ATOC to me there isn't enough to make those movies work by themselves. I'm actually tinkering with combining 1 and 2 as one film using the strongest aspects of the two.

You also have the difficult task of figuring out Ahsoka. She's at the moment a pointless character. I keep hoping they have a specific purpose for her, but alas, not yet. But as was said, the show isn't over yet.

This could be fascinating, but only in a art house kinda idea where the style changes from live-action to animation and you never know when it will occur. I saw something somewhat similar in the film The Miracle Maker. It was a mixture of stop-motion (Claymation) and traditional animation. It was interesting, and still somehow worked.

So, this could never be a traditional style Star Wars edit, but it could be an artsy alternative.

Was thinking about your statement about the Chancellor kidnapping, and how we have yet to see it on The Clone Wars... Well you see it happen in the Clone Wars cartoon. You also see how General Grievous gets his cough (Mace chokes him) You also get his origin. So you could use that older cartoon to fill those gaps.

AD1 sounds like a steak sauce :P

Yes, but will it make my steaks taste like STAR WARS?

Bingo: you mention this off-topic "free to bitch" page.  Is there a link?

Ady-1: like one of the previous posters, I too feel that arguing about the name change is superficial compared to the edits coming out.  AD1 is fine with me, as I'm sure it's fine with you, as you created it.  It makes sense to do something to credit the others who are helping you, and if it means your independent incorporation of interns and non-paid staff work under the banner of a steak sauce, then so be it.

Now can we get back to talking about STAR WARS please?

Amen and amen.

This is an idea I got from Trooperman, I think.

Feel free to cop anything you like.  I consider these things open-source projects- I took a lot of other peoples' ideas for my edit and anyone is welcome to do the same.

This edit is looking great.  Keep up the good work!

P.S. I really like the idea of putting lounge music in that nightclub.  I used a different piece but I really like this one- it's lower key and and sounds "otherworldly".  It definitely gives it more atmosphere.

Ha, yeah. I actually used your idea to Blade Runner footage! (I believe you said it was ok.) I did it a little differently, and yet again, completely different music that was brought to my attention by Brash Stryker here on the forum. I have a new idea for that scene but not sure yet if it will work.
