STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

Well, I am finding out that my ANH:R disk won't play in my Blu Ray/DVD player. I tried putting it on a DVD-R disk (instead of a DVD+R) but that did nothing. Somehow my disk player won't play anything that has been burned onto a DVD.

Oh well, guess I'll have to get another Blu Ray/DVD player. Anyone know of some good Blu Ray/DVD players that can actually play recorded DVD's and Blu Rays?

Rate the Star Wars Films
Time

OK well here's my ratings (based on the OP's rules).

TPM - 5

AOTC - 3

ROTS - 6

ANH - 6

TESB - 8

ROTJ - 7

I've watched all six films in a row (not on the same day of course, lol) and I have to say that none of them were "bad" so to speak, as I enjoyed all of them as part of the saga. AOTC was the worst IMO because at some parts I wasn't really into it, and it seemed a bit dull to me. The entire saga would still make sense if AOTC was just taken out, it didn't really add anything to the story (I guess the origin of the stormtroopers, but meh).

I gave ROTJ such a high rating because even though the majority of the film was mediocre, It contained my favorite scene in the whole saga, which is the final lightsaber duel between Luke and Darth Vader. I also like Palpatine in ROTJ. That lightsaber fight was the best of all of them (even though the duel in TPM was a close second). The score was brilliant, and the fight was just well executed.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

First off, it is good to hear that you are still interested in these edits, especially with everything that has been going on in your life as of late. I really appreciate that you are even working on ESB:R, I would have given up on the project already.

I also like your idea about doing the PT all at once, can't wait to see what you do with them! :)

I just want to say good luck with everything and hopefully more things go right for you in life.

I wish they had given a little more details about the technical aspect of the Blu-Rays. With each film getting a 6.1 DTS audio track i guess that means every film will have a new mix. I'm really hoping that they take a leaf out of the Clone Wars tv series surround tracks and have the dialogue and FX in the centre channel without any music bleed through. This would be a fan editors wet dream ;)

Agreed. I was sort of looking foward to see if they would announce some fixes to the OT similar to what you are doing in your edits. One can only hope I guess..

Star Wars has always had explosions and sound in space (it is Space Fantasy not Science Fiction) but even in evoking the dreaded science bit here, these are ships filled with breathable air, surrounded by force fields and venting breathable air, couple that with the possibility that the ships may be built with elements that don't need atmospheric Oxygen to burn (like some metals) what is TOO unrealistic about them being on fire?

If it works with the story and can be done well it should be done.

Well I know that theoretically you could have explosions because of the oxygen in the ships, but most of the explosions are quick, as there isn't enough oxygen to support a long, sustained explosion.

I think there is a difference in that and having a ship be continously on fire. Maybe if it was a small fire within the shield, but a large fire continuously engulfing a whole ship would look a little out of place IMO.

Back to topic, i was wondering. in the Battle of Endor, should ships be on fire? Explosions? More of them anyways.

I know ships have sheilds. but you think after awhile of fighting you think you'd see ships on fire, ships blowing up or parts of the ships blowing up. It just seems like it would make more sense.

I think more explosions might be good. But to have ships be continuosly on fire would be a little TOO unrealistic lol.

Well I, for one, think that nothing else needs to be done with Ady's version of the shot on YouTube. Its great the way it is. Palpatine now looks like he does in ROTJ and that's good enough for me.

Great work Ady, no need to spend more time than necessary on this topic, on to the next!

When was the last time you actually watched a prequel? (Or: Revenge of the Sith still blows.)

I watched ROTS about 2 weeks ago. For all of its thematic merits, it really is an amateurishly executed, juvenile mess of a movie.

Obi Wan: "Anakin! Palpatine is evil!"

Hayden's non-response: "Don't make me kill you."

WTF?

Well I believe that Darth Vader said to Luke at one point: "don't make destroy you" or something along those lines, so it is kinda Vader-like.. I guess.

The only change I don't like so far is going back to Boba's original voice. That is all.

Yeah, I the old Boba voice always kinda annoyed me. I thought it sounded like a well-to-do white guy trying his best to sound intimidating, it's at the point where whenever I watch the original I chuckle whenever the original Boba voice comes on, lol. Temura (I think that's how you spell it) has more of a natural bad guy voice IMO. Simply improving the quality of his voice over is enough for me.

But hey, I'm a continuity guy, as long as Ady keeps his word that he'll make Jango's voice sound like a well-to-do white guy trying to sound intimidating, fine by me.

What we like about the Prequels

One thing I dug was the visual transformation that took place over the series of the films. The production design, costumes, etc, all slowly transitioned over from more organic, individualized, hand-crafted types of production to the more machined, pre-fab type of look.

Agreed. One of my favorite thing about the prequels was watching the transformation of a free Republic to the Empire, like the design of the ships, etc.

I also would like to say that I wish Anakin wasn't so kid-likev in Episode I. I think a better representation of him would have been similar to Boba Fett in Episode II, much more serious.
