Star Wars: Episode VIII to be directed by Rian Johnson
Time

I'm not sure why everyone is talking about CGI. The Prequels were weaker films because of poor plot, dialogue, and directing. CGI was still kind of new then so some shots looked way too cartoony, but by the time ROTS rolled around I thought the CGI looked great in that.

It's 2014, I'm sure that any CGI used will look great. I'm more worried about the storyline at this point.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I have a couple of questions for Adywan or anyone else that can answer:

1) in the scene where Han and crew are "hiding" on a Star Destroyer and about to float away as "trash," at some point Han says that "the fleet is beginning to break up" and there is a shot out of the cockpit window showing two star destroyers below. These star destroyers look horrible and nothing like any other ones. I am wondering if you plan on or have already fixed that?

2) Secondly, shortly after Vader contacts the Emperor via hologram he is shown talking with three officers via hologram as well. These officers are very poorly composited and look even worse than Vader's hologram on the AT-AT. Are you planning on enhancing these holograms?

Thanks to anyone that answers and good luck with the rest of the edit!

Donation drive for a house addition, problem solved.

Awhile back there was a drive encouraging everyone that "liked" the page to give one unit of currency.

If that happened now then Ady would net over 60,000 units of currency! Certainly enough to pay for an addition to the house.

What we like about the Prequels
Time

A few things:

Special effects

The fact that clones evolved into Stormtroopers

The lightsaber duel in TPM

Obi-Wan - Jango fight on Kamino

Most of ROTS except that Chewbacca was in it, wtf? And Grevious wielding sabers was silly.

Some scenes of ROTS were gold though, like:

Anakin finding out Padme is pregnant

Palpatine telling Anakin about Darth Plegous or whatever his name was

Obi-Wan telling Padme about Anakin turning to the dark side

Obi-Wan cutting Vader into bits and the dialogue that followed and

The last four scenes that show where everyone ends up. The Padme funeral scene is the only scene in Star Wars that almost chokes me up lol.

Asking for updates is one thing. We LOVE that people get as excited about this project as we do. Stating the amount of time since the last update like Ady is late on some sort of update schedule is another matter entirely. Ady doesn't owe anyone an update, no matter how little work you mistakenly think he has left to do. And anyone who says that some members aren't acting entitled is clearly not reading the same forum posts as I am......though thankfully it IS a matter of only a few people needing attitude adjustments.

Just to clarify, the original post I made that started this mess was a sarcastic quip about being disappointed that the posts in this thread were not ESB:R related. The "stating the time since the last update" was in response to someone, and it probably came across worse sounding than I intended it to.

Anyway, I think we're all so eager to get our hands on Revisited that it's "clouding our judgment" so to speak.

The last project update (if you don't count the shield generator models being cast for sale to raise funds for Revisited) was on May 24th. People seem to think they are entitled to almost daily updates on this project and I fail to understand where this attitude comes from. This is Ady's hobby....something he does for fun.....not something he owes to anyone.

I was talking about an update where it was mentioned how much there was left to do.

I was just curious, this thread hasn't had any meaningful updates in awhile and I just decided to ask how the project is going. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I totally understand if Ady is too busy to give updates.. and I certainly don't feel entitled to anything. Everyone has a life and I'm not expecting him to post things daily. I think you misunderstood the tone of my post.

I apologize if I offended anyone.

If you have a look at the official Facebook page or swrevisited.WordPress.com there are plenty of progress updates there.

The last Facebook "progress" update was in March.

Oh and BTW, many of the video links on the "ESB:R Facts" section of the Wordpress site are broken and new ones need to be added.

Hopefully things are progressing well :)

I certainly hope they don't stick him in brown desert hermit bathrobes. Stick with the ROTJ look or go with something new, just don't continue the stupid "Jedi dress like moisture farmers" BS.

Wasn't Anakin wearing those same desert robes at the end of ROTJ? Why would he be wearing them?

You know, no matter what i did with the Vadergram, i just can't win. complaining that he looks too short, now that he is filmed at the correct angle to the holoprojector - but if it had been filmed at the original angle then people would complain that it's at the wrong angle and he looks like he is leaning back, especially now the figure would be able to be seen more clearly than the super fuzzy original. When i was doing ANH there was the whole "hands on hips" thing going then. But then it was people wanting me to remove the pantomime hands on hips gesture. Now it's complaints about changing it. Vader's stance, more often than not, is the hands close to the belt buckle. That's the posture i wanted for the hologram and that's the one i'm sticking with.It doesn't change the original feeling of the original in any way - only the way that you see it. It's still just Vader, on a hologram, getting a report about the landing from Veers. He wouldn't be striking an impatient stance because it's right at the beginning of the battle. The thing has just started. Would Vader really be getting impatient that early on? No. He is just receiving an update.

It's pretty clear that people interpret things in so many different way. If i was gong to change things just because of the way people interpret something, then i would have to do a million different versions.

Good. Stick with what you were doing. I don't see how or why everyone feels the need to nit pick. It's not their edit.

After seeing that new and improved Vader holo, now I'm curious what the plan is for these 3 holo captains.

I hope we can still keep the original footage (and not have to re-shoot any of them), just enhanced in areas to better match the other enhanced holos in the edit. But their holos shouldn't be clear either, since they should still look "hazy"/choppy from the asteroids interrupting their transmission.

I too would like to know if there was some effect to enhance these holograms.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I have a question for Adywan or anyone else from the Revisited team:

The work on ESB:R is fantastic and it seems to me that you are going above and beyond even what you did for ANH:R.

The question I have is: will you be doing that for ANH:HD too? Like for example creating new models, redoing mattes, etc.? One area that I can think of benefiting from special attention is some of the Death Star shots from that battle that still look a lot like models.

Another idea would be to replace some of those cheap-looking 2D shots of the death star as viewed during the space battle.
