Should be able to accomplish this by formatting a thumb drive to exFAT format, which can be read by the PS4 (as opposed to FAT32 which can’t hold over 4GB and NTFS which can’t be read by the PS4.

One scene that is jarring for me is when Luke chops Vader’s arm off, he’s obviously just wearing an fake “stump”. Is there any way to shorten the limb so it looks a little more realistic?
Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed ESB and hope ROTJ/ANH go a little more smoothly for you!

Got it. Regarding Vader, Yoda does mention to Luke how powerful his father was though. And he also warns Luke about the Emperor. It’d seem pretty strange to me if they never actually met.
Was your interpretation that he was just viewing them through force visions or something?
Also, Ben telling Luke about how he “tried to train Vader just as well as Yoda” is another hint that they were connected somehow. I can’t imagine that in all his years training Anakin, Ben would never think to bring up Yoda.
I too think it would be best if Yoda remained a mystery and wasn’t a head of the council etc.
That he didn’t chose swampy forest because of an exile, but as a place to test himself, or a seclusion while he explores the Force, entire place for younger jedies should be sort of a pilgrimage where he decides are they worthy or not to be trained by him.

Should Vader and The Emperor even know who Yoda is?
Nope. I always assumed they had no clue, otherwise they would have attacked Dagobah and tried to eliminate him. Vader mentions Obi-Wan’s name repeatedly, but never mentions Yoda in the OT.
It’s heavily implied that Yoda has come into contact with both of them before. In ESB he talks about how strong Luke’s father was, and in ROTJ he tells Luke to not underestimate the Emperor. He went into hiding on some random remote planet, it’s much less far fetched that they never went after him as opposed to Vader going after Luke who’s “hiding” with his family.
Yeah, but thats part of my point… This isn’t a campy, “so bad that it’s good” kind of movie. It isn’t supposed to be hilarious.
I mean, sure, it does have some funny moments, but those are intentional and they would only work for that part of the story. An action scene being hilarious while it should have been exciting or emotional doesn’t work. Again, it worked when we were kids because we didn’t notice these things… I mean, some of us genuinely thought Ewoks were cool at the time after all. (Even though Ewoks were Gungan’s of the original trilogy, even though they are not as terrible as Gungan’s.)
I see your point, but he’s such an iconic character that I and probably most others wouldn’t want him removed. Plus, it’s a charming reminder that it’s a 70s film - you’d never have an obese character named “Porkins” in this day and age. It’s charming.

Glad to read things are moving along. Hopefully the Wampa issue can be fixed Ady. You’ve worked too hard on that puppet for it not to make it into the final version of the movie. It’d rather the release is delayed a bit until the problem is figured out than scrap using the puppet altogether. It’s amazing the level of commitment and detail you’ve achieved with these edits, if you decide not to include your Wampa, I feel like you’ll regret it eventually.

About the X-wing engines : I remembered to watch for them the second time I saw Rogue One and on Eadu research planet when it’s quite dark they are red but on Scarif when it’s bright daylight they are pink. So I would hope that Adywan follows that logic, that way we can have it both ways and more people would be happy with the result. (Yes I like red more) =)

That’s why they released the Director’s Cut back in 2001, but they only rendered the effects in 480p, so they haven’t put it on Blu-ray yet. Wait, you’re not talking about The Motion Picture? 😉
Ha! Honestly some of those effects in The Phantom Menace do look like they were rendered in 480p, smh.
No, the Death Star plans in the original verison of ANH is inaccurate and creates continuity errors, so that would stay. Knowing Ady, I imagine we won’t see anything about the Death Star at all in the prequels.
Also knowing Ady, he’ll probably insist on building a Yoda puppet to replace the CG, but hopefully we can talk him out of it. 😉
Regarding Yoda, maybe by then he will be able to take images from ESB and “blend” if you will those images with the animations of CG Yoda.
There are definitely some FX shots in TMP especially than need some help/haven’t aged well.
Really interested to see how Ady executes the Wampa. Seems like an extremely difficult task creating a Wampa from scratch and seamlessly integrating it into the film. If he can pull this off then he can pretty much do anything haha.

Not sure what you’re referring to, but I’m okay to not say anything else on this particular subject.
The way I see it is, if you haven’t donated to the Revisited project, then don’t ask. If you have contributed, I feel like it’s okay to ask if there hasn’t been update in awhile.
It’s so weird that it was changed. I mean, I get why, that roof looked like shit before. But that’s hardly the only CG object in the film that looks like shit. How did they decide what to fix? Was it just that George randomly pointed that out?
It’s mind boggling. Like, how do they decide to update approximately half of the Cloud City shots in ESB?? Why would they not update the rest of the shots? It just makes no sense.
Does anybody know if the sound mix is going to be rebuilt for this? If so I would recommend using the 97 mix as a base instead of the 04 mix. At least for the dialogue so that every line doesn’t have a different sound quality than the one before it.
I’m assuming he’ll use the 2011 blu rays?

I have to admit that I am delaying things. I am working on the swedish subtitle and it takes more time than I thought it would. I am not a professional translator in any way so I am doing the best I can to do a good job. I have done just about a third of the subtitle for the moment.

I’m dyin’ to know how the wampa is coming along.
Yea been so long since an update. A few months ago he said that ESB:R had to be finished “by July”, but I don’t know if that meant June 30th or July 31st. I’m assuming that he won’t give another update unless things get really delayed and the next thing we hear is that it’s done. It’s gonna make my entire month when this thing is done.
I know opinions here vary wildly about JJ’s Trek films, but personally I thought they had the right idea as far as casting goes. None of the crew are actually doing impressions of the original characters (except Karl Urban), but most of them nail the vibe. That’s what I want from a Star Wars recasting, because even if whoever they got was absolutely dead on I’d never be fooled. They ought not try to disguise the fact that they have a new actor, because that’s never going to work.
But isn’t that different since that’s a reboot, not something that’s supposed to take place in an existing canon?
I pondered about how the movie would end the other night and thought it would be cool if, after stealing the plans and transferring them to Leia, Felicity Jones’ character is captured and put in the detention area in the Death Star. There are shots of her being interrogated and what not. Then she hears the muffled sounds of blaster fire, and then a voice from the other side of the walls “my name is Luke Skywalker, I’m here to rescue you…” A few more shots of time passing (the brass maybe asking her who these two men and their Wookie were) and then alarms go off. People are running around, the station starts to rumble, the lights flicker and she understands what is happening and says, “They did it…” And then… Explosion.

Hi Ady I had a quick question for you.
At any point did you consider adding a “glass effect” to cockpit scenes in the Falcon, Luke’s X-Wing and the speeders on Hoth? I noticed this effect was quite noticeable in TFA and added a lot of realism, IMO. Is that something that could be done in ESB:R?
