DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Failed to open file "H:\Ep3\STARWARS\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_7.VOB"

The system cannot find the file specified.

When I demuxed the video, all I got was 6 VOB files. Where did you all get the 7th? Straight video and second audio track, right? Should only be 6.9 gig.

What am I doing wrong?

Use SmartRippper.

If ypu have the DVD in your DVD-Rom drive, it will try to read it. It may say something about files being locked. If so, use PowerDVD (or whatever software player you have) to play the movie or a few seconds first. What I usually do is just play it and then skip around a few chapters and stuff. Smartripper should automatically find the main movie on the disc. If not, it's Title 7, program chain 1. Click on "Stream processing". Click on "none" to deselect all files on the next screen. Click the check box next to "VIDEO NTSC" and change the little selector to "demux to extra file". Do the same thing for the second audio track (English AC3 2ch). Change the target folder to your demuxed folder. Click on Start. (Start will not appear if you don't have enough HD space.)

You should end up with an ac3 audio file and and m2v video file, as well as some blank vob files and stuff. Use these m2v and ac3 files and start over with the instructions from "Star Wars BotW kit" in the first post.

Little Shop of Horrors original ending (Released)
Time
It's done! Disc Two for those that have the rerelease single-sided Little Shop of Horrors. If not, go and buy it! Now! Disc Two features: Original 1960 black and white movie taken from the Madacy release, including the trivia questions, with a few others added by yours truly. It also contains the original ending of the 1986 musical movie that was the reason the producer pulled the first release from the shelves! There is also a photo gallery of posters and photos of unused scenes. The soundtrack to the musical is in the DVD-rom section as mp3s as well. All of the menus are made to look like this could actually be a companion to the official disc. I think I'm gonna send this off to f1209 for distribution. Have fun and let me know what you guys think! Special thanks to mr-bridger for suppling the ending and ocpmovie for most of the pics and idea to include the soundtrack. Disc art and cover art (two disc case) coming soon.

mr-bridger, you wouldn't happen to have a scan of the recalled cover would ya? There is a Blockbuster near me that has (had?) the recalled cover on the shelf, but what they actually rent is the newer disc.

Yeah, but it's really not supposed to be that word anyway. I guess the words in Chinese for "Do" and uh, to have sex are similar. So it's "R2, what are you doing?" Also, if I use the word "thucking" people will probably figure out what it originally said. I watched a little bit of the beginning with my 8 year old neice this morning. Besides, poop is a funny word. Ha, ha, I said poop!

R2, 3P0, Yoda, Darth Vader went over to Jabba's house to watch the movie, since he's never seen it. It would be cool if they could comment on it, but not sure what they'd say. 3P0 would have to translate for Jabba and R2.

3P0: "This is the part where they erased my memory. Probably a good idea, dad. If I knew the whole time that you created me, man I woulda freaked out. R2, how come you never told me?"

R2: "Beep beep beepity beep"

3PO: "Stop laughing at me! Yes, it was a good thing I didn't remember being 'naked' on Tatooine. Stop bringing that up R2"

Vader: "Damn you, 3P0! I told you to stop calling me dad! I'm not your father. Yoda is!"

Yoda: "Up Shut you! Build him I did not. Burned up the black suit and helmet Luke did, thought I?"

Darth Vader: "He did, but you think I only had one? Woulda got pretty smelly. Besides, the droids and Jabba wouldn't be able to see me, now would they, being dead and all. I'm glad I get to be a kid again! Ha, ha ya old fart!"

Jabba: "Hehehehe! hjkhjaiosdhjkasdhklasdjl;askdjkasl;dk" (something in huttese)

Yoda: "At least my tail stepped on by Han was not. Supposed to be dead, aren't YOU? A secret Jedi Hutt or something were ya, Jabba?"

3PO: "He says he is Larry the Hutt. His brother Jabba and his other brother Jabba were the ones that died."

OK that was completly pointless...

Yeah, I suppose. If I go that route I won't include the original menu. The first post here says which track is which. The first BotW track is the original, the second one is with the word "poop" instead of the "f" word. I wasn't sure of a good way to label them on the menus.

Yeah that's it. Supposed to be an MST3K type thing. It was made by using the font "Star Wars Kit" from dafont.com at a really really large size. It's just like 5 letters that stay on the screen for 10 minutes (the longest a subtitle can be displayed), that keep repeating. Could be useful for a MST3K-like commentary of some kind?

I need to shrink this down myself. Let me try what I mentioned in PM there Art.

The 4th one has one subtitle displayed every 10 minutes, for 10 minutes. Choose it, then start the movie from the fox logo. Wait for something to happen and it should stay that way for the entire movie.

Hey everyone- do the above! I don't know how useful it is, but I basically just wanted to see if it could be done. I'll tell you how it was done later.

Hmm. I haven't noticed the 9 hour thing before. Wonder how that happened? I get it too. Let me try to make a new IFO file for this and see if that fixes things.

So do you think I did a decent job, having never owned or even seen the "official" backstroke version? And without watching it as I did the project either? I still have seen only bits and pieces. How's everything line up for anyone that's watched it all the way thru?

EDIT: Damn! I stupidly deleted all of the files I imported into DVD Lab Pro. So I'd kinda have to start over if I wanted to re-author. So.. anyone smart out there wanna figure out how to fix these little bugs?

A few reasons for this: #1 most important- this PM zion sent me

"marioxb,

Your new project sounds great, and I much look forward to you finishing the subs.

However, I must caution you on your intentions to release this as a DVD. If all you are going to do is add subs to the ROTS DVD and possibly a new or modified sub menu, this is not enough to call this a fan edit. And thus, I would caution you about announcing or speaking about releasing a DVD version of this on the boards.

Rather, I would advise you to either revise your thread to say you are just working on the subs, or release this as part of a ROTS fan edit. If you don't have any intention of doing a fan edit yourself, you could try teaming with someone else who has done/is doing a fan edit, like Hal9000 or ADigitalMan. Collaborating on a project isn't anything new. Dark_Jedi and segaflip have teamed up for releases, as well as Digitalfreak-NYC and Baby Hum.

Jay has tried to re-clarify the rules so that the site doesn't look like a hub for obtaining bootleg DVD-rips. I hope you understand, and best of luck to you on your project."

Doing it this way makes sure everyone owns the actual DVD and isn't just out to get something for nothing. #2: It makes the download time much, much less.

As for ThatArtGuy and anyone else having problems rippping, why not use SmartRippper? It will give you one video file and one audio file if you do it properly.

I could give out the srt file, but then ypu wouldn't get my nifty menus. What do you guys think of them by the way?

Anyone else having any problems, other than with DVD Shrink? Yeah, same error I got. An older version of DVD shrink said I didn't have enough memory availiable.

As for Windows XP- that's just what I have and I haven't tried anything else. You need NTFS because FAT won't hold a file larger than a gig or so- I found out when I had Windows ME.

Oh, the button on the subtitle menu is to resume the movie, so it'll play whatever you played last. Speaking of which, anyone notice what the hidden features were? Besides the songs on the menus, there are two other unlisted extras.

Just wait a little longer. It still works, I just tested it.

And please, when people start getting this completed, can someone help me figure out how to shrink this puppy down from 5.78GB to fit on a single layer? DVD shrink won't work for some reason, and I don't wanna pay for clone dvd.

Also, could some kind souls help me finish getting Star Wars Heroes and Villians from myspleen? Stuck at 95.4%! 5.6 freakin percent, c'mon!

EDIT! Got it! Thanks people!

Uh.... good question. I don't know. #1- there is no reason anyone should have a fullscreen version, but yeah it will probably work. I'll test it out on some other fullscreen movie I have to be sure. I don't see any reason why the NTSC full and wide versions would be any different- timing wise, but I can make sure the subtitles will be in frame and stuff. As for PAL, is there any easy way to change the frame rate of a subtitle file? Maybe if I had a copy of an srt file from the PAL DVD I could work something up. Now I must sleep. Just got off work and very tired..

Help Wanted: 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' Laserdisc Footage - censored scene

I used to have the LD of this (the 3 disc? I think version), but I think I lost it in a move. The Vista Series is great! It has the shorts that were included with Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Dick Tracy and A Far Off Place.

Hal 9000. If I find the LD and no one else has it that actually, unlike me, owns an LD player, they can borrow it to transfer. You of course need to re-incorporate the pig head scene, somehow converted to widescreen. I also think it would be cool to have an option to play "Somethin's Cookin' " without the rest of the movie.
