Nobody discovers them, Palpatine just introduces them as soon as he’s elected chancellor and later on we see them prepped for battle, it’s more of a small subplot than anything but I think it’ll make for a cool ending
I was actually planning on this kind of thing in my re-write of the prequels, so props to you!
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before so I thought I’d post an update.
TPM will also contain a few scenes from AOTC to introduce the clones way earlier. The clone wars will start at the end as a response to the Federation’s attacks. You will see one or two more politics scenes but they will be interesting and contribute to the story, you will also see the clone army being prepared for war twice. Hopefully it’ll blend well with the rest of the film

Amidala’s parents being dead could be implied, since they don’t even show up or aren’t even mentioned until AOTC. Not sure how you’re going have them actually be dead an not just not around

I was just looking at the old posts and noticed this. How do you get the sources for your edits then if it’s not from the Blu-Ray?
I’m planning an edit of the script of The Sound of Music to more accurately represent the characters (mostly Capt von Trapp and Maria) and what actually happened according to The Story of the Von Trapp Family Singers (which, as fictionalized as it may be, is the most reliable source of info on the story). The problem is, though, that I can’t seem to find a copy of the 1965 script. Does anyone on this forum know where I can find a copy or have an electronic copy they can send me? It would be a huge help.

I feel like Anakin does a lot of standing and awkwardly watching. Not sure if that was your intention, but I get the sense like Anakin has no idea what to do and is just following it

I feel like the voices are too airy and too clicky, like someone was told to make random clicking and vowel sounds with a low voice. Also, the other Nemodian’s voices don’t match between the two times he speaks. I don’t know where you got them from, so I’m not blaming you. It’s just my opinion

Could you somehow remove Jar Jar from Tattoine entirely? (lets say that he never left the ship as since he is useless he has no purpose fallowing them along.) And remove little Anakin from the final battle? (lets say that he stayed at the Jedi Temple. Because why would they bring a child along to the war zone?)
That would make the movie much much better I think. (I tried to do just that in my edit but I no longer have the time)
One of the intentions of this edit is to make Anakin the main character of the movie, which I’m not sure if it’s possible now, but still I want to make him a very prominent character. Removing Jar Jar entirely from Tatooine will be very difficult, and I’ve already re-dubbed Jar Jar to be somewhat humorous now, so it’s not exactly necessary

Thanks! The final battle won’t have a dogfight because it’s tied directly to the Gungan battle and the only character to be invested in would be Anakin who shouldn’t be there in the first place. The ending will focus on Padme and the Jedi only.

So I’ve decided to upload my rough version of the opening for TPM. Let me know what you think. Note that many of the ship/explosion sounds are either missing or wrong, this is just a proof of concept. I suggest reading the title crawl before watching it:

I didn’t see Frink say that and I can’t seem to find it but that’s a pretty good point which is kind of a bummer. Another thing I noticed in your latest clip is that several shots will suddenly zoom in at the last second, it’s really jarring.
My bad, it was MalàStrana that said it. And the thing about the clips zooming in is a problem with Final Cut Pro that I can’t seem to fix- it doesn’t save the video presets and I have to change the video animations back to what I want every single time, and I miss some of them
EDIT: Okay, looking at that video all the way through, that video is jacked and I will most likely replace it tomorrow with a better version. FCP is giving me a really bad time rn

I agree, I liked that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would watch the invasion army come in, but then if I had it like you said where the army immediately invades Theed, the next shot of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would have to start with them sitting down at the table, which must be for a considerable amount time given the army has already landed on the planet and invaded the capital city. Like MalàStrana said, it makes both of them look like idiots for not doing anything as the planet is literally being invaded.
You could rip your dvd or blu-ray and mux the stereo audio to your video source

Do 5.1, unless you have a need for an extra channel, which you probably don’t.
With the video source that I got, Final Cut Pro didn’t give me the option to put it into surround 😕 Some clips were in dual mono, so I got that fixed, though. I have a new version of the opening ready to upload to Vimeo, but the wifi currently isn’t working on that computer
I’ve never ripped mine so I don’t know, but I don’t see how 6.1 would be of any benefit above the 5.1. The extra channel is center surround, which won’t have much of use. Certainly not dialogue.
Well you know what I mean anyway, editing surround sound is easier.
Final Cut Pro has 5.1 and 7.1 but not 6.1- which should I use?
