I really like using the Rogue One scene as part of the boarding of the Tantive IV. And it works really well! My only concern is that while it works for a small clip of the movie it might end up feeling out of place in the context of the full movie (much like the fan edits that include Sc38 Reimagined).
Honestly repurposing white First Order stormtroopers by recoloring them red would probably work just fine. Lots of people think they’re already just palette-swapped First Order soldiers so they wouldn’t even notice the difference.
How bad does it look if you just crop out Slave I?
I’ve tried the resizing the shot in order to hide the Slave 1, but it adds a lot of pixelation, so the quality doesn’t look so great. What Movies Remastered sent me I believe is only 1080p, what I really need is 4K UHD; does anyone know where I can get it? If I crop it in a higher resolution should look good.
Yeah that would look great if cropped from a 4K rip.

If somehow we could use the falcon traveling through hyperspace (lando and chewie) as seen in the trailer, and they send out the transmission. While the transmission plays, can show diff shots of diff planets/locations of the galaxy, similar to how ppl have shown palpatine’s broadcast. Just a thought?
This could also create a nice parallel in an edit that adds both Palpatine’s and Lando’s transmissions.
Begin Episode III with Anakin getting the Darth Vader suit. As Anakin writhes in agony, a record scratch is heard, and The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” plays in the background. A Hayden Christensen-soundalike does a voice over narration and says, “Yup. That’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation…”
Next, transition to the actual opening scene, and add a “six months ago” caption on the bottom of the screen.
Then, leave the rest of the movie as is.
Definitely gonna need an overall 80’s movie soundtrack change to go along with that.

So Star Wars Biomes came out on Disney+ today and has a nice landscape shot of Mustafar. Any chance something like that could be used for an establishing shot to help slow down the beginning of the movie a little?

TRoS presents Luke as spending years searching for Exegol and the Wayfinders. It doesn’t frame it as the Force Ghosts lied to him about where they were, it doesn’t frame it as anything other than a man looked everywhere and asked everyone… except the one person who knew, who he uniquely could communicate with.
It becomes a plot hole because we’re told a character exerted himself, almost desperately, to find something without trying the most basic thing that would also have worked. Like, did Luke get bitter with his father’s redeemed spirit?
Maybe, if it’s not a plot hole, we can at least agree it’s an unnecessarily stupid plot contrivance setting up the videogame-style trading sequence of multiple MacGuffins that we have instead of a story.
Do we have any evidence that Anakin manifested as a force ghost ever again after Endor? Yes we hear his voice on Exegol but that could literally be the first time he’s made contact in that way since ROTJ.
Yeah Rosario absolutely nailed it as Ahsoka. I love Ashley’s version but overdubbing the live action version with her would be unnecessary.

I’m obviously in the minority here but I don’t see the big deal with Palpatine having a kid. I do think that with Rey being his granddaughter it would make more sense to have Palpatine’s son come into play in the story in some way but the fact he had a kid doesn’t seem bad to me.
To me, the issue with SC38 Re is not with the choreography, but rather the cinematography. The constant shaky cam and lens flares are what take me out of it. If those two issues could be fixed, I’d be all for integrating the scene. Just look at how good this shot of the doors opening would be for an edit. Better combat, but no jarringly anachronistic cinematography.
I think you absolutely nailed what makes it so jarring. I’d love to see a similar project done with the intention of blending in with the original film.

I didn’t realize the complete saga was coming out the same day. lol I assumed they’d save that for the holiday season.
I doubt that whatever deleted scenes we get with the initial bluray release is all we’ll get. They’ll undoubtedly be saving some stuff for the complete saga box set.
I doubt we’ll get a DVD this summer. For the first several seasons there was a wait of about 5-7 months between the last episode airing and the home media release. I’d expect a similar wait time from the end of Season 7 to the DVD/Blu-Ray release.

This is probably the most well-written fan crawl I’ve ever read. Well done.
Edit: In regards to Palpatine’s transmission - maybe have it play over the opening scene of Kylo storming Mustafar?
I agree. Having the granddaughter of Darth Sidious decide to stand up for good and become a Jedi absolutely plays into the whole “your lineage doesn’t matter” theme of the previous two movies.
These are my current ideas to streamline the season into a standalone movie.
Cut out most of Chapter 2. Try to work the mudhorn fight in on the way back to Mando’s ship.
Cut out most of Chapter 4 other than the Baby Yoda pressing buttons scene. When he presses the button that makes the ship shake jump to the battle at the beginning of Chapter 5 (makes it seem less like Mando is letting the child press buttons that could cause serious issues and more like they’re just being attacked at that point). Keep Chapter 5 as the character at the end tracking Mando(?) may be important. It also gives us one “side quest” to show Mando’s growing attachment to the child. Chapter five also explicitly tells us about the guild knowing about the Mandalorian’s actions in chapter three.
Cut all of Chapter 6.
Cutting chapters four and six are mostly due to redundancy between chapters 4-6. They’re all pretty much: Mando takes job, child becomes endangered, Mando saves child. It works for separate one-off stories but if it’s being condensed into a single story we probably only need that to happen once and I chose chapter five because it seems the most important (could obviously change as the next two episodes come out though). Cutting most of chapter two is just because it adds very little to the story other than explaining why the armor is damaged in chapter three (hence trying to keep the mudhorn fight in some capacity).
I think you could smooth out that transition from the elevator to the flashback by having the first line of dialogue from the flashback play before the video cuts over to the scene. I don’t know if I explained that well but hopefully you understand what I’m trying to say.
“A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights.” Is this right? Anakin HELPED the Empire? This makes it sound that the Empire was around before Anakin joined. No?
Wasn’t Order 66 enacted at basically the same time as Palpatine announced that the Republic had been reorganized as the First Galactic Empire? Plus, as we see in the comics and other material, Anakin continues to help the Empire hunt down Jedi that evaded the initial Jedi Purge. I’d say it’s pretty accurate to say that Vader helped the Empire hunt down the Jedi.
“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.” Han says a few things about how he doesnt believe jedi/the force exists. It works great in the originals alone but he would of been born around the time of Order 66 surely? If not then soon after. Seems a bit off.
Even at the Jedi peak there were about 10,000 in a galaxy of trillions of people. Even with Han being old enough to remember some of the Clone Wars it’s entirely possible that he never came into contact with a Jedi and thought all the stories of their power and the Force were fake. Again not really a contradiction and just helps establish Han’s character as a skeptic.
