There’s a certain scene in this week’s BOBF that could find it’s way into ROTS edits.

I think just doing Kenobi as Episode III would make the most sense since we still have Ewan McGregor’s Obi Wan and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin as main characters. I guess it would be interesting to see what Andor has to offer and how somebody could tie the three together though.

A lot of issues could be fixed by just deleting Attack of the Clones and putting the relevant Emergency Powers parts and Sidious meeting with Dooku parts in either the end of episode 1 or the start of 3. Have shots of the clones on Kamino play while Palpatine talks about the army. Maybe include Dooku meeting with the Separatist leaders. Other than the question of establishing how Anakin knows the Lars family you can mostly let the audience fill in the blanks themselves.

Oh Anakin probably went and saw his mom and freed her from slavery, but she died tragically and something bad happened with sand people. Oh Anakin and Padme ended up together, that’s nice. Oh the Trade Federation went and started a larger war and Palpatine made a clone army to fight them, and Jar Jar became a senator and supported him. Oh Palpatine got a new apprentice after Maul.

No wondering why the Jedi didn’t let Anakin see his mom, nothing about “forbidden love” or a ban on attachment (or sending Anakin to the romance planet, alone, with his crush,) no whiny teenager Anakin, no nonsense about the Jedi losing their touch with the Force or having a magic brain cloud remove their common sense. No elected queens. Obi Wan and Anakin have a friendly mentor-student/peer relationship.

People are going to say that the audience would get too confused but plenty of stories do this kind of time jump and it works, it tends to only increase audience interest as they piece together what changed.

I really like this. Especially in a prequel trilogy edit that eliminates one of the films and puts Kenobi as a new Episode III (assuming that’s something we’ll be able to do).

Just have each Bacta bath lead to a different Temeura Morrison movie in its entirety.

If we want to stick to the Boba story with this:

• Have Boba and Fennec have their chat about hiring muscle at the end of Chapter 4
• Cut to Mando doing his bounty from the beginning of Chapter 5. Maybe edit out him slicing his leg?
• Cut the majority of the rest of the episode. We’ll have to see how Chapter 6 plays out to know exactly what needs to stay from the rest.

I wonder if it would be possible to construct a scene with Mando in the cockpit of his new hot rod getting a communication from Fennec using some dialog from their scene together at the end of Chapter 5 (and maybe some other sources). If there’s scenes of them recruiting others to their cause in the next episode it could even kick off some sort of “recruitment montage” of sorts.

Yeah having these stories run concurrently would go a long way towards making it feel so disconnected from everything that’s happened so far.

I feel like the only two places in the trilogy you could use this shot would either be:

1. During Rey’s Lightsaber Mind Trip in TFA

or

2. Used during one of the multiple Force Skype sessions/visions between Kylo and Rey in TROS. It could also fit really nicely in fan edits for this movie with the KYlo vs. Darth Vader scene a lot of people have added into the film.

That is my favorite shot in the entire sequel trilogy and it wasn’t even in the film. lol

It does have me wondering if there are other alternate scenes/cut scenes from the trailers that could be useful. This is the only cut shot I can think of but I’ve never really taken a deep dive into those.

I think a standalone Boba Fett film containing the flashbacks from episodes 1-4 and maybe some stuff from Mando season 2 would be great.

I really like this idea. Sorry I don’t have anything more than that to add right now. lol

I’m open to any small male character role. I can’t commit to anything substantial due to life stuff but I’d like to be a part of this if possible.

It kinda sucks that the present day story is so bland. I really like the flashbacks and would be interested in an edit that just turns that into a movie.

I think that’s a good idea. Anything that can help remove the “Anakin killing kids” thing is good in my book.

I’d love to voice a small role in this.

I thought this would be nice to make so that you could remove the Droid joke beat at the end of the battle without losing too much running time/making the pacing a little strange. I did all the sound design for the new shots and im very happy with it ^_^

As soon as I saw that shot in BOBF I was hoping somebody would do this. Thank you!

I was thinking of putting the scene of Boba’s hand reaching out of the sand from the first episode of BOBF after the sail barge scene and have him show up again on Endor.

Haven’t really kicked around the idea more than that since I’m not sure what footage could be reused for the Endor scenes for him.

Well now I need to see that. lol

How feasible would it be to add Boba Fett to Endor? Perhaps with some fan film footage? Star Wars fan films love their forest settings.

This was kinda what I was leaning towards as well. Also maintains Hayden as Anakin through the whole trilogy if done this way. Though the time skip between Revenge Of The Sith and Kenobi would be just about the same as TPM and AOTC.

What do you guys think the best way to turn 1-3 into two movies would be? Eliminating one of the films entirely? Combining 1 and 2 or 2 and 3? Something else?

I’m curious because I’m envisioning a new version of the prequel trilogy that uses the Kenobi series as a base for a new Episode III (which of course we wouldn’t know how that would be until it comes out).

This sounds great! The actual adaptation of the Killing Joke story in the animated film was great but that first half was painful. I’d love to see your version!

That third clip is a good idea for making the scenes from A New Hope feel more dynamic to fit in with the Rogue One parts in the intro. Honestly if you can pull off more stuff like that and maybe add some of the shots from the Tatooine part of Star Wars Biomes (there’s a good shot of the landspeeder and the Jawa sandcrawler in there for instance). Not sure if possible but maybe there’s something of the Falcon in flight that’s usable from Solo or the sequel trilogy? Just kinda throwing out ideas. lol
