Rey Nobody.
Ren destroys Corellia after suffering visions of killing his father.
Rey has a vision of Finn dying.
Finn is less sassy and less negative.
Rey scares the snake off, does not heal it.
Jannah’s presence is reduced.
No creepy laughing uncle Lando.
Palpatine is revealed on Exegol about 35-50 minutes into the movie.

#1 One far shot just after Rey withdraws her lightsaber.
#2 The shot of Rey’s hand holding the UN-IGNITED lightsaber as the Tie Fighter bears down in the distance, coming clearly into focus
I didn’t use the extended camera side sweep across the desert sand because it felt like too much, and I didn’t use any music from the trailer.
Other changes to make it more like the trailer were made by just editing the film footage.
Just over halfway done with the edit, not including creating a few lines of new dialogue. I managed to completely rearrange the first act and delay the Emperor reveal on Exegol until 35-40 min into the film, and also used footage from the trailer to improve the Pasaana Tie Fighter vs Rey showdown. Updated, detailed changelist is above in main description.
Hux is uneasy because he is the spy, Ren just guesses the wrong reason why.

Yep! With some basic color correction to have it fit the other footage.
Sweet job on it. It’s really cool too because she looks kind of like a hybrid between Sith queen Rey and Jedi Rey.
The goal is to make it more past-focused, justifying his decision to rebuild the mask. It’s sort of a contrast with Rey where she’s seeing a future she wants to prevent and Kylo’s seeing past mistakes he’s trying to reconcile with.
Ok you’re right so really no way around the TLJ flashbacks then. If they can be shortened though similarly to the Rey vision flashes (but maybe not quite as insanely quick) then it wouldn’t feel as fanedity to me at least. That last shot you added of Rey (from the Rey vision), was that behind the scenes, the one of her in the hood looking to the left side of the screen because it looks fucking great.
Rey’s vision feels absolutely perfect, better than the original for sure.
Kylo’s vision veers a bit into fanedit territory for me, mainly due to reusing so many shots from TLJ. Perhaps removing some of the shots that are clearly not from Kylo’s POV would help. I agree with Hal that if there’s a way to use Luke for haunting purposes, perhaps the closeup of his face in his duel with Kylo, that would be ideal.
Yes the Rey vision is far better than the original. Great idea with the lightning from Rey then from the Emperor-- and then the well done dyad at the end. Soooo much better. The only thing possibly to consider: would the female hand with lightning reveal too much of the future and spoil the Pasaana scene for 1st time viewer? Probably not, but just something to consider.
The Kylo vision is done well but feels more like a recap with all the TLJ visuals. I’d try to stick to
TLJ audio with more TROS visuals that could fit with it.
Poppasketti thank you for releasing a V3nopalp you are a true gentleman. The release is worth it just for the properly vfx’d shuttle scene alone. This will now be the true replacement for TLJ.
The Exegol test looks so much better. Why did JJ crank up the blue so much???

I’m still cranking away on the TROS: Resurgence edit and running into adobe proxy file issues. What else is new!!
But here’s the cave scene with the serpent. Instead of it being sick and misunderstood, it’s not injured. Now Rey does not heal it and it senses the dark side within her. I like this much better…

If possible I’m really looking forward to a “NO PALPATINE CUT”, and just have Episode IX be a sort of short Epilogue to the Saga.

I’m actually surprised how well that worked! I love that people are starting to piece things together for their edits. I feel like you’d still want to cut Merry’s/Charlie’s line about cloning. It already felt like it came out of left field and now that Palpatine isn’t even mentioned it’s just random.
I left it because it makes it seem like they believe the Sith fleet could be manned or assembled by clones.
