Whether this is mostly trash or straight trash seems to be an exercise in semantics. Let’s just all call it a big pile of mostly trash.
I prefer the movement of poppasketti’s take but I prefer the model work of your take, snooker.

Yes the model in snooker’s take looks more solid and realistic, and the angle and speed of departure looks more natural in poppasketti’s.
The only major issue is the word any. Does he say it again in another line? I’m assuming you already staggered the center channel audio between different tracks and slightly crossfaded each word over the next word in an app or mode that gives you fine detail control.
EDIT: could maybe be changed to he wanted to end YOUR resistance to his power (though this is not quite as good)
The Jedi spirits could really clog up those Star Destroyer super cannons and the thousand ships could Holdo manure the Sith colosseum.
Add an identical twin for Klaud named Kled. They are a surprise dyad (complete with sexual tension).

On a different topic, has anyone considered adding some dialogue for the Knights of Ren? They stand around staring at things like a bunch of a-holes. If there were some amazing, menacing dialogue added, they would have more gravitas.
Lol… Well then the karate robe could stay. I for one like it better.
I like the direction Ben’s robe is going but this looks a bit like a karate outfit.
Edit: Yeah they need to be blue and without the soft lighting around them which looks like angels in the clouds (or Maddie on the show Moonlighting), not force ghosts.
I liked TROS better after multiple viewings too though it is very flawed.
The worst Star Wars movie is probably TPM, then AOTC (I do like ROTS a lot-- fanedited to remove the schlock). Followed by ROTJ (terrible editing choices that highlights all the terrible acting).
The best movies are TLJ, then TFA, then Rogue One. I like the New Trilogy better than the Old Trilogy.
I’m curious, what’d it look like if it was just Ben and Leia, and you pasted Ben’s face on top of Luke’s?
Then I think he would then be a tad short (for a stormtrooper).
After watching the film here are my (non-spoiler) thoughts/critiques:
-The overall story is very ambitious and has a lot of heart but the plot is just too convoluted.
-Pacing is really all over the place.
-A lot of unnecessary exposition.
-This film felt like it was meant to be a 3 hour movie, scenes are never allowed to breath, cut short and slapped together to fit in a short run-time, I can’t wait to see the deleted/extended scenes on blue ray because this film needs more fleshing out.Overall I think somewhere inside TROS there is a solid film, now its our job to try salvage it.
Looks like we got a lot of work to do.

I don’t see any reason to mess with Luke and Leia. The Jedi ghost thing seems to be less of a ‘true essence’ and more like ‘hey wow I found a way to teleport into ghost world and stop aging from where I was.’ Hayden-ghost notwithstanding.
Yeah, I agree with Hal, plus I like that they put Leia in the white robes from ANH. I don’t think any reused footage could look better than what we already have.
I and others would be interested to see what jonh could put together to replace Luke and Leia. The worst thing that would happen is the faneditors would say, no I like them better in the original and not use it in their edit. But if Hal doesn’t want to look at it we should move the topic off his thread.
Octorox they remind me of an airbrushed late 60’s / early 70’s mural on the side of a Scooby doo van. Luke looks like a hippy pothead, not like himself. And they look nothing like the past force ghosts from the other films.
The transparent Leia someone made a recent test with looks better than this Hare Krishna Leia.
jonh amazing how you’ve quickly managed to match the look of Luke and Leia ghosts. I would rather see what you would do to replace them all in your own style (not the weird 1960’s retro-ghosts). But I definitely don’t want to interfere with the release of the final Rey-Palpatine fight sequence, or did I somehow miss that too?

yeah I knew from the get go the Ben fx was not done by poppasketti. thanks for clarifying though. I’d love to see what anyone can do to replace and improve the Luke and Leia force ghosts as well.

This was dropped in as a proof of concept, not as an actual proposed shot. I agree that there is no way the footage used for the mockup will work as-is.

It’s truly mind boggling to me that someone could have two problems with this movie, and one of them is that a specific kind of TIE fighter doesn’t have hyperdrive. Like, you realize how ridiculous that sounds right?

Okay so I think we all agree introducing Palpatine at the start of TRoS was a mistake. But what are the alternatives?
Introduce Palpatine at the end of TLJ.
Introduce Palpatine at the end of TRoS.

Most of these options have been explored, but I haven’t heard anyone consider moving his reveal to the end of the film. Cut all of Kylo’s scenes at the start, and change the Resistance dialog to refer to Palpatine as dead when they talk of his fleet. Then Rey shows up on Exegol and guess who she finds?
I delayed Palpatine until about 35-40 minutes into TROS: Resurgence. It works best at the end of Act 1. I set it up so after Ren lets Rey escape from Pasaana, Palpatine threatens to turn the fleet against Ren, and then Ren reacts by going to Exegol to kill/threaten Palpatine.
[Rey being a] Palpatine at all feels wrong.
I’ll change her line to “Rey Palpatine” then. She’ll say Rey in her voice and Palpatine in Ren’s robot voice for extra nostalgia.
Conceptually I think including Ben works fine, but yeah, that particular clip of it isn’t quite polished to the degree that I think it would need to be included.
Very diplomatically said. I would have said Ben looks like a hobbit on his way to Mordor in the tests being released. TROS already has one hobbit, it doesn’t need another lol. I know Hal said Ben’s ghost looks ok but every idea here seems to go through the ringer except this one which is just going through as-is… no bueno. The footage used for Ben was chosen because he was smiling but the composition with added hair, etc increases the cartoonishness. The Luke and Leia force ghosts look slightly strange and Ben looks very weird. I would prefer to see if jonh has time to redo them all correctly.
I remain open, but I’m probably not going to change the ‘Rey Skywalker’ angle. I don’t want to do anything dodgy in the very final scene. My approach tends to be fairly conservative, after all.
If this was some Indy film then “just Rey,” sure. Rey calling herself Skywalker shows she has finally accepted the love of a real family (Leia is a Skywalker and her mother figure) and gives you that good feeling in the pit of your stomach. I don’t think changing it to just Rey is an improvement for this scene or as a finale as it lacks impact.
