Also Rik, I don’t know what the “Official” answer is via comics, books, etc … but I am sure Kennedy’s response of “The Force is Female” is probably the answer. ;P

What?

Lol, I’m making fun of the whole “force is female” push some years back. Coming up with an explanation of something that doesn’t make sense. That’s all.

Luka, looking good. It’s great you are taking up the mantel on this. I think you’ve nailed the base of the effect. As DominicCobb mentioned, I think the final polish would be adding some small sparks. Although, at the same time, I wouldn’t want the saber to be “kylo saber - Light side edition” in which it is more subtle and not trying to carbon copy it.

Also Rik, I don’t know what the “Official” answer is via comics, books, etc … but I am sure Kennedy’s response of “The Force is Female” is probably the answer. ;P

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **

If there was more dialogue to pull from Vader to make it work, I’d like that change. But it still sticks out unfortunately.

Even with the new series and they were able to get Earl Jones again, it be hard to imagine him saying “mother” … but there can be more syllables to pull from to make it. Who knows.

just came across this on reddit from a guy on YouTube named JXEditor, thoughts?

I wonder if a line from the Han scene could be used. “You’re just a [memory.]”

Does unmasked Kylo ever say “clone” or something similar? “Snoke” might have a usable vowel. The word “own” maybe?

Palpatine’s voice sounds pretty good, given the source. Blends into the vibe the overall scene gives to his voice.

Kylo only says clone from TFA while wearing his mask. There could be other words to use to piece meal it.

I gotta admit, the palpatine line was cleaned up pretty significantly from the original source. Impressive.

Agree about Anakin’s “justification.” It is a tough call though.

You know, I didn’t read your earlier motivation about this edit with the implication that it is Palp’s that was causing the visions for Anakin. I don’t think I caught that nor felt any tugs towards that. I’d need to watch the edit again to see if I catch on … but it could be skewed now that I’ve been “told” the implication. Things to ponder.

It is a shame to lose the Yoda counsel with Anikan since it does “push” Anikan more towards the Dark side. He didn’t get the answer he wanted, but the other side does. Anyway, tough call.

I hope what’s happening in The Mandalorian show so far doesn’t throw a monkey wrench into what this edit has changed about TROS.

Lol, not sure how much can change unless they decolonize the sequels and do something crazy like Kanan and World between worlds crap. Lol. (Hope not but kinda do at the same time for these sequels.)

As for Hal having alternate track with the KOR, I’d like to listen to both with and without … I’m guessing by personal bias I’d prefer them staying quiet, but won’t judge till I listen!

Removed lightspeed skipping sequence. It made no sense given how hyperspace has always been depicted, as quick travel, not teleportation. Now, the Falcon bursts through the ice wall while jumping to hyperspace, and the pursuing TIEs peel off, ending the scene (visual FX by poppasketti)

As bad as that sequence is… the point of it is to reinforce Poe’s recklessness.

It’s not necessary though, that same recklessness can be inferred from him smashing through the ice and the general damage to the falcon on his return to base.

You don’t need another universe breaking use of light speed in the mix.

Agreed. Plus the TIES actively tracking the falcon and able to PERFECTLY predict each stop and go to/from hyper speed, from Poe randomly making those choices went beyond being beyond too far.

How is changing the look of an established thing to make it “new” makes sense? That’s like Vader’s lighter saber turning black during the final battle cuz … he’s fighting for the emperor/reasons!

If you wanna change the look for something cuz it looks cool … that’s your choice and go for it with your own edit … and this is a general redux thread for the movie … but trying to justify it and be angry that people don’t agree using valid reasoning is silly and bad story telling/writing.

I disagree. If Vader used the force on the Emperor in 1983 and his sword turned black, it would have been written in as a new force power that happens when you become super angry or reach your destiny or whatever and fans would follow it adamantly. The same as Luke (a Jedi) now having a green lightsaber.

Yep. People get too bogged down with the weight of canon and don’t remember the things that have “always been this way” were new ideas at one point. I mean, take why Mace Windu has a purple lightsaber:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKowrRnERrY

Lucas: Good Jedis only use blue and green. Bad guys only use red. This is how lightsaber power works.
Jackson: Please?
Lucas: Ok.

There, canon suddenly changed.

Reasonable argument, but doesn’t quite fit the mold specifically about changing something that has always been “this” to “now it changes to “this”. The first Star Wars movie introduced different colored lightsabers. More colors came after that movie. So the door was opened right away for that and continued. The audience can see the bad guys consistently used red throughout. Could they use other color sabers? Sure! But they like red … just like a gang can have a “rule” to only wear orange sleeveless hoodies.

Force lighting has stayed the same look throughout the trilogy. Same in the OT, PT and ST.

And no, the argument “ well Lucas could have done “x” and people/fans would accept it” is a bad argument. Trying to use a “what if” to justify a reason to do something new/different is bad, come on man. “Let’s make “x” glow when using the force cuz Lucas could have done that in “y” movie to support it…”

Well damn, this was at 5000 comments last time I was here.

I’ve no idea where you’re at with this edit now but did snooker return and did you get the Naboo scene finished? I can help if not.

I’m slowly getting back on my feet so if I can help let me know.

Yep, we got it, but thanks!

And it seems like I’m going to need to order an NVMe usb enclosure since my Mac isn’t seeing the new SSD at all. The internet suggests I can format it and install my OS using an enclosure before installing it into the machine itself. So that’ll probably add a week waiting for that.

Do you have a spare external drive to install the OS and try to format/repair the SSD?
