It’s a bit of a back and forth about how to implement or whatever. (How much lighting, the style, etc. etc.)

Personally the biggest hurtle is just how “realistic” a VFX editor can have the lighting look right. There is impressive work being done, I ain’t trying to put any damper on it. It just has to look like it is coming from the studios … and it can be easy to visually spot things as not being quite right.

So my vote, if this is to be implemented, is something that is either quick or is easy to “hide the imperfections.” I almost view this as Rey mainly doing a force push but because of her anger she’s having some lighting “bleed in” it. I dunno if that makes any sense or what this all means. Lol.

I tried doing “It appears I am a Resistance spy” but the beginning R of that “Resistance” is so slurred with the “D” right before it that separating it always sounded terrible. If anyone’s got a source for a clip of him saying “Resistance” quickly enough that it would fit here, I think it would fit the memory-wipe stuff better if we’re able to keep the “It appears”, but I just don’t have a good source for that key word.

It’s going in the right direction and I’ll watch it a few times again to get a good feel for it.

Seeing this scene again makes me realize the potential here. I love it.

I wonder if the sound effects from Snoke in TLJ would be more fitting though, since that’s the attack we’re trying to replicate.

First, I like this idea if it can be done. Second, per Jar Jar, that sound in particular may work better.

Can you imagine if someone can do that effect seamlessly (Not a long prolonged lighting, but a quick one if that helps …) As well as adding a slight smoke coming off of Finn would really sell it … I mean heck … he groans from pain.

Basically a quick lighting burst and a slight smoke/steam coming off of Finn could be neat…

With Hayden being older, even having an older hayden ghost both in ROTJ and ROTS would fit, since it would fit him redeeming himself “at the moment” and not a … revert … back before going Sithy.

It would be interesting to see what the Kenobi series will do with Hayden … could be useful for any deep faking for ROTJ hanger scene…

Anyway, specifically for this edit, Jonh did age Hayden a bit, which in my book maybe even using some photos and whatnot of hayden now to use as a fake app to age him more to be in line with how he would have looked at the time of ROTJ if he wasn’t lava-ed

EDIT: my thoughts go this way specifically for a full on trilogy to link from the PT all the way to the ST. I have nothing against Shaw since he WAS Vader’s face before the PT … but for the sake of an entire 9 movie thing, like what Hal has done, having it all link together would be nice. I agree Shaw in his ROTJ makes sense specifically for those movies, but it would be good if there was a way to replace Shaw with Hayden’s face all old like both on the hanger and then his force ghost using fake app and what not to implement Hayden older to fit.

Obviously the answer is he constantly shifts back in forth between the two. It’s a Force Ghost glitch.

I appreciate the work and find it impressive, as always with Jonh and his talented work. I just don’t think it doesn’t jive with what the movies have “told us” about this topic. I think Ashoka is awesome, don’t get me wrong, became one of the coolest things from Clone Wars, but doesn’t really “fit” in the saga movies. Plus Leia doesn’t fit since her body doesn’t disappear till after.

Then again … Anakin. But oye, why go down this rabit hole. Lol.

Long story short, keep it the way before that fits with the entire saga and keeping the “key” figures in the Saga that fits the story.

Rey clearly has that one Force ability that lets her see the history of an object when first touching it. If she was going to see what it did during Order 66 that would have happened in TFA.

I for one think it shouldn’t be whispering to her until she is on Endor because otherwise it gives the impression that the dagger could have led her to the wayfinder without 3PO’s help.

Lol. It was retconned into this movie to help “explain” the first vision scene in TFA. Not only does she see the history of the object she touches now … but also stuff about her or how it connects to her … which is why in the vision in TFA had some of her history. Before the vision in TFA had nothing to do with any ability of her, but the force/lightsaber calling out to her.

Also, here is another issue … then why not see what happened to her parents right away when she touches it? It was the last thing the dagger most likely did AND it directly connects to her. So the TFA vision, now retconned to now being another special Rey thing that allows her to both see the history of a thing AND how she is connected to it right when she touches it … but not the dagger that has DIRECT HISTORY/CONNECTION TO HER?

So why not remove that plot hole anyway AND keep the dagger’s purpose more concise?

I agree the Mustafar change would be of good benefit so it’s not a recycle of Rogue One stuff. Man if some trees could be added to it with color correction … that would be really something.

I need to check this stuff out ya’ll are talking about, sounds like there is some useful material to insert to give some breathing room in this movie.

And I enjoyed the video; very fair glimpse into the world of fan editing. And of course I felt proud of what you all have put together with Ascendant as it was mentioned at the end.

Probably feels different since it really came from ONE character in the OT, who’s personality and reactions to things made it at least “make sense,” but this one it’s the whole crew like that … it makes it … obnoxious and off putting to be blunt. They ACTIVELY did not care and were ok with him “sacrificing,” so if it was ESB, they may NOT have repaired C3P0 like Chewy did. Lol.

Again, fantastic really, just being nick picky for the sake of it to really hammer down all the possibilities and avenues. The trooper voice is perfect for the scene and I couldn’t tell if it was from the actual film or not, so that’s good.
