Where/How will you see TFA?

Secondly, I don’t like people around me eating, drinking, laughing, screaming and talking.

You forgot about the volume being generally too loud, the bad acoustic of the whole theatrical room, the fact that you can’t pause the movie whenever you want to pee and obviously the stupid commercials and trailers you don’t wanna see. Oh! And you can’t sit wherever you want at the theater… there is always a random guy sitting at the exact spot you wanted to be.

So will it be:
-Not dubbed but in 3D, by myself plus a four-hour drive
-Or much nearer to my place and with a friend but in French and in 2D?

The drive will be part of the adventure.

I’m going to see it in French first for nostalgic purposes 😃 Then I’ll probably watch it again in English.
Plus, they seem to have put a lot of efforts and money into the making of this dub. Disney actually installed a retinal scan machine so nobody but the related crew can get into the studios. They spent about 80 grand in this gear. It’s pretty impressive how far they can go for anti-piracy nowadays.
Anyway, I’m watching this in Dolby Atmos so it’s all good! 😉

The trailer looks better on VHS 😉

It was fun to make actually.

I hate to pick a nit, but linear VHS tracks were never that hissy. 😉

And no dropoouts or tracking errors?

No problem, critics are always welcome. This trailer is definitely not perfect. I’ve made that pretty quickly and was too lazy to create dropouts and tracking errors. The sound is a bit too hissy indeed even if I wanted to recreate the old non-Hi-Fi mono tracks 😃

Info: The Matrix - with original theatrical color timing?

Again, the Laserdisc uses the exact same master as the DVD.

Ok first, the “scratched print” is not an LPP

According to the uploader on spleen, it is.

Yes, indeed. I got confused, sorry. I meant the scratched print wasn’t an IB Tech.

Info: Back to the Future - without DNR & EE
Time

Yes indeed. The older DCP that you are talking about used to be screened in the US only I believe. The movies shown at the Grand Rex were sourced from the same "tweaked master" that was used on the BDs. This version is basically the one that Universal sends to all the theaters and you won't see anything else until a brand new remaster which is not planned at the moment unfortunately...

Harmy, I don't think they particularly cared about such a tiny data loss. The entire way they released it shows a complete lack of caring for quality. NTSC native resolution is 640x480, so they resized it anyway.

Which NTSC tape format has a native resolution of 640x480?

I think he meant 720x480.

Hi. Not sure it can help because it's captured with my video recorder and it's not easy to capture the good colors, but here is a short video from my french 16mm reel (les aventuriers de l'arche perdue).

Wow, marvins! How many films do you have on 16mm? It's quite impressive. Soon you'll tell me that you have Back To The Future on 16mm as well :P
