It did amuse me how it was exactly the same Luke design as ROTJ - complete with the single glove and everything. Hadn’t it occurred to him to mix his outfit up in the ~five years since?

The costume gave me serious Dark Empire vibes.

And cmon, you gotta admit… That cloak was majestic.

Hmm… The cgi / de-aging could simply be a one off, perhaps a measure used to avoid leaking out the big secret.

Now that we all know Luke’s in the mix, and that he’ll likely have a large presence in future live action, they could easily resort to Sebastian Stan or the like and use prosthetic makeup and practical magic. I can see this also being done for Alden Ehrenreich and a possible new Leia.

It could be that “Rangers of the New Republic” follows Luke, the jedi and how they fit in with the Republic. It would also be a golden opportunity at showing the inner workings of the new senate with Leia and the republic fleet with General Solo.

But I digress.

I will eat an Ahsoka action figure if this ever happens. I see so many crackpot theories about how the Sequel Trilogy is going to get decanonised

Ah but you see it won’t be de-canonised. What I think will happen is that the 2 timelines will diverge due to Ashoka messing with the world between worlds. But both timelines will be Canon, just in their own way.

With Filoni and Favreau I wouldn’t put it past them to create an alternate timeline using Ashoka and the world between worlds.
They seem to be hinting at it with the Ashoka series cover.

That way you have a clean slate post ROTJ, while keeping The ST confined to it’s own timeline.

Have your cake, and eat it too.

Book of Boba fett is a new spinoff series.

As for the deepfake, yeah it wasn’t perfect, but I think it captured Luke’s essence which is most important. I’m just waiting for them to announce his inevitable spin off show, or a substantial role in the Ashoka and Rangers series. I’m sure they’ll throw a ton of cash at de-aging him down to a T once he has a bigger presence.

But damn I got serious rogue one vibes out of that Hallway scene.
Like father, like son. Ey? 😉

Interesting, but I really don’t care about post-TROS era if that is indeed true.

Yeah…unless it’s a hundred years after. I’m not interested in a New New republic and a New New jedi order. Let the ST die…kill it if you have to.

[world between worlds goes burrrr]

The Kenobi <s>Movie</s> Show (Spoilers)
Time

Discription of the Obi-Wan sizzle reel shown to investors.

ComicBook has provided a description of the footage seen during the Obi-Wan Kenobi sizzle reel. In the video, Ewan McGregor acknowledged the heavy desire from the fans to see him don the Jedi robes again:

“There’s a hunger for this character to come back. The fans have been waiting long enough, you know?”

Director Deborah Chow teased that there are Jedi Hunters out in the galaxy during this time:

“This is quite a dark time that we’re coming into with him, just being a Jedi — it’s not safe. There’s Jedi hunters out there.”

There was concept art depicting the Great Jedi Purge from Episode III:

Concept art shows a Jedi, lightsaber blade ignited, defending a trio of Younglings as the newly-anointed Darth Vader >marches on the Jedi Temple with a legion of Clone Troopers.

McGregor says that Obi-Wan’s sole job is to protect the son of his fallen student:

“He has this one task left, which is to keep Luke safe.”

It appears that we’ll be seeing both sand and sea:

More concept art shows a stingray-like creature floating above slave workers toiling away in the barren, sandy >landscape of Tatooine. “We start on Tatooine, and we go on a rollicking adventure,” McGregor teased over a glimpse at >a watery planet, where armed soldiers fire upon a many-armed sea creature.

Vader will naturally be a part of Kenobi’s story, and there’s a chance he might have a throne:

“We couldn’t tell the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi without addressing Anakin or Vader,” Chow added over an image of the armored Vader seated on a throne as he communicates with a hologram — possibly his master, the reigning Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

McGregor’s favorite part of the series? Working with an old friend again:

“The most beautiful thing of all is that it’s brought me back together with Hayden. It’ll be amazing to bring those characters back together again, very unexpectedly.”

Obi-Wan and Vader will clash blades again:

Chow confirmed that audiences will “definitely see Obi-Wan and Darth Vader get into it again” as we see the blue blade of a hooded Obi-Wan clash with the fiery red blade of Darth Vader.

McGregor knows the battle will be eagerly anticipated, and he’s looking forward to performing it just as much:

“Having another swing at each other might be quite satisfying for everybody. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we’re going to enjoy making it.”

This might also be what the rumoured Cara Dune series actually is.

Please don’t

She’s okay in Mando, but she ain’t got the chops to carry her own series. At least not yet.

Since this will directly tie into the Ashoka series, it’s more likely that this is the Rebels sequel.

Personally I’d prefer if this turned out to be a buddy-cop crime thriller in the Core worlds. But that’s just me…
