But yes, the “Just Rey” ending only works if she’s a Palpatine, because it’s her specifically choosing to forge her own path and not aligning herself with her actual family name (Palpatine) or her “adopted family” name (Skywalker).

In a Rey Nobody edit, you’d have to do something else with that scene, I think. If you even use it.

Rey Skywalker = Rey no-one edit
Just Rey = Rey Palpatine edit.

I personally like “Ascension to the Throne.”

Rescoring opens up so many opportunities, I’m digging the 2nd and 3rd version.

I think it would be better to space out the message over the entire opening, ending on “the day of the Sith” as Kylo drops out of Hyperspace.

The way Disney is so adamant on not releasing any deleted scenes is very strange, do they have something to hide? Was Palps added late in the game? Rey Palpatine?

It’s a shame that even after Carrie’s death, Iger refused to give them an extra year.

You know what. This abomination really put TLJ into perspective for me. I finally appreciate the story decisions Rian made in relation to Rey, Luke and Snoke. Rian opened JJ’s mystery box, discovered that it’s really just an empty shell, and made his own story. JJ went back to the old discarded box, and…the rest is history.

Some say that if JJ had helmed all 3 films the trilogy would have turned out better. In truth, we probably would have had to suffer through 2 rise of skywalkers instead of 1.

Ugh this film, so baaad.

Ughh his movie is so bad.

That might be so, but for the audience it’s so convoluted that its better to keep it simple.

You could always just make the saber color yellow throughout, like it’s built from the same hilt but she’s using a new crystal and made it her own.

Rey’s moment with the saber on Tattoine would then be about her changing the hilt while keeping the same crystal.

Pretty cool! I question the use of the crowds though, I think a moment like this would be more suitable with just the main characters, maybe in a more secluded place on Naboo, like the funeral pyre from TPM.
