I see what you mean, the restructure would have been the ideal but I think the idea works well nonetheless, especially since you have Rey’s reaction in the falcon “I killed my mother and my father”.

If Palpatine is then portrayed as wanting to bring the two together, it seems even dumber for him to be surprised about the Force dyad fountain of youth. (Well, not youth, but of being alive and having all your fingers and pupils and stuff.)

Palpatine’s surprise about the dyad could be cut, setting it up in the opening and replacing it with “and now, your coming together will be your undoing.” or “stand together, die together” springing the trap immediately, his talk about “the power of 2 will restore the 1 true emperor” could be VO as he sucks the life out of Rey and Ben.

Rey going into self exile after the reveal makes more sense in this narrative and would help the film of the film, problem is that I don’t see how we could make it work. First problem is that she arrives on Achto in Ren’s Tie, Second is that you’d have to cut the death star scene since she takes Ren’s Tie to Achto, and you can’t have the transition of her leaving the death star to her traveling to Exogol since she uses Luke’s X-Wing in the latter.

It could be a 3 part reveal

“I pushed you in the desert because I needed to see it, I needed you to see it, What you did to your parents, so long ago”. Rey’s reactions to Kylo’s dialogue works perfectly as a reaction to the reveal. In the hangar Kylo would tell Rey that Palpatine has been waiting for them all this time, that he sensed their darkness since they were children and declares that Kylo and Rey are a Dyad and that they will inherit the dark throne. (for this to work, Palpatine’s plan from the start would be to bring Rey, not kill her, so instead of “kill the girl” his dialogue to Kylo would change to “find the girl” “you will rule the Galaxy as Emperor and empress”)

Have you considered taking the route of Rey having killed her parents? For me the hangar scene just screams “revelations” like a big reveal in the making, and dialogue wise it might be easier to work with.

Since you mentioned the blue, is it not wierd that Luke was all blue on Achto but on Tatooine he’s just normal? I think that could be why I feel it looks a little off.

Here’s my take on the Falcon shot. Lots of tweaks I still need to do, but this works as a proof-of-concept, I hope.

That looks fabulous. I agree with the others on the movement, and maybe it could be a bit bigger when it enters the frame, with a few tweaks it will be Perfect!

Yeah it really was open to interpretation, My problem was that they played it too safe, kinda throwing hints of different explanations at the audience in the hopes that one would stick rather than sticking to their guns with one explanation and fleshing it out.

I think there needs to be a buffer shot in-between Rey walking out of Frame and the falcon shot, maybe the scene could be restructured so that Rey first sees the ghost of Ben alone, then when she walks out of Frame we see the ghosts of Luke and Leia watching her and then we cut to the falcon.

From watching the film and reading the visual guide, you get the impression that Palpatine was rebuilt and stiched together, hence the need for the huge robotic arm for his every move. The cloning was in relation to Snoke, Palpatine being a clone was only added later on in the novelisation. (although in the original script as per Ian himself, Palpatine explicitly said that he was a clone, but that was changed around to a vague reference to the darkside.)

Your right it wasn’t explicit, but it sure was the implication. I think the team at lucasfilm were reluctant to commit to any one explanation, they probably decided to stick to the clone route with the novelisation after backlash from the fans who (rightfully) also got he implication that the Palpatine that was in the film was the same one from ROTJ.

I’ve lost count. With the current version of the film I can barely allow it into my headcanon. But with the fanedits that are being worked on, that could change.

You could have Ben in the foreground with Luke and Leia behind him.

Could use younger versions of Luke and Leia, closer to ROTJ.
Would be quite the homage.
