Brilliant idea.
Brilliant idea.
I could say my thoughts on Ruin Johnsons film but Id probably get banned with all of the cursing, insults & name calling Id just end up making toward Ruin Johnson so I’ll hold myself back. The Crap Jedi is the Batman v Superman of Star Wars. The less I say about that stupid shit the better
Cant slam JJA with out giving Ruin Johnson his fair share of criticism of what he did. Both men are at fault equally with what happened
That kind of rhetoric isn’t really welcome here. If you want to make that kind of argument you’ll have to be more nuanced than that.
Got confused there for a second, ROTS refers to Revenge of The Sith. ROS or more commonly TROS refers to The Rise of Skywalker 😉
Yeah, no problem. Btw, you’ll probably go a more conservative route with Mustafar, but thought I’d share a mockup I did to extend it and actually further Kylo’s arc beyond a minute long fetch for a holocron. If people could get permission from these guys to actually use the footage in their edits (I haven’t tried), it could be a very useful addition. I’ve made enough test edits at this point trying to fix issues, I should just start a thread and take a crack at doing the whole movie. haha

I love how you cut from Kylo holding the wayfinder to Rey reading about it in the book.
Superb editing!
I have a feeling whatever arc he had in TROS was dropped to the cutting room floor.
I think this would be a nice setup for Rey going crazy with the lightning in TROS:

It’s probably best to move this discussion to a more relevant thread.
I think he could have articulated the same philosophy without being a dick about it, maintaining his kind nature and actually building a master/student bond with Rey( properly setting up “Rey Skywalker”). I also think they should have stuck with the idea of building a new order of force wielders. I mean, I don’t think Luke was wrong about the jedi. Ultimately the Sith did constantly spring out from them.
In TLJ documentary, Johnson paints a picture of a more active role to Luke’s exile, him realising that the cycle of jedi and Sith ascendancy was never ending and thus had to be broken, by removing himself and the jedi out of the picture. In its place the force would then have to choose a worthy inheritor to the light.
Pity the idea was executed half heartedly in the film.
What can say, I loved it.
I’m sure Han and Leia’s romance could have been read as forced in the script but when translated on to the screen it became a life of it’s own.
After watching TFA for the first time I got the impression that Luke went specifically to the first Jedi temple to learn something, perhaps even searching for the source of Snoke’s power.
Lol it seems like I’m in the ultra fringe minority that diggs ReyPoe.
Wasn’t there an interview with Kasdan where he said that when he was brought in, they basically had to start from scratch?
Ultimately it’s the decision makers at Disney and Lucasfilm who were at fault. JJ, Arnt and the rest were only doing a job.
In fairness, Michael Arnt had no script almost one year into his hiring. Ideally they would have given him more time to crack the story but with the short schedule they were given I don’t really blame them for getting rid of him. It’s just that JJ should have been kept far away from the script.
An example from the top of my head: I find NevrarGreat’s “fanfic” episode 9 to be a lot deeper and more compelling than JJ’s memberberry running marathon.
When fans give the story more thought than the writers.
SighI mean that’s not really true though.
I’d say it’s true in relation to JJ Abrams’ writing.
Just because the final product ended up in a certain simplified way doesn’t thought wasn’t put into its development.
I’m sure a certain degree of thought was put into it, just not enough thought nor the right thought.

I played around a while ago with that idea here, it’s subtle but I think it works.

Trying to please everyone is a noble endeavor but you don’t have to look further than TROS to see it’s results.
I think it would be great to have some Plagues/Snoke music play as Kylo descends into and walks around the sith temple on Exogol.
Lol happens to us all.
There’s no sound for most of the video.
Ahh a revisited edition of the ST.
