Okay, now I’m convinced the final sequence should be on Coruscant. My problem with it in DotF was that Rey and Kylo were halfway across the Galaxy from the big battle, but utilizing the Sith shrine beneath the Jedi Temple would be a brilliant way to remedy that. The Sith Citadel could be left as is, but the other 2/3 of the battle would require some FX work. Basically, you’d need to swap out the background. Finn’s mounted assault could be on the street, with defected stormtroopers, while Poe leads the battle in the skies. My one issue is I don’t see the fleet being hidden below Coruscant. Anyway, luckily, the ground isn’t visible in most shots, so it could just be said to be happening in the upper atmosphere. The space horses are visibly in the sky, however. Maybe they could stay there instead of on the streets?

In the 2017 script, Coruscant was used in the place of Exogol. So Palpatine could very well have been deep below the temple.

In the the Art of book it says that Kylo Ren took an elavator down to the deepest levels of the temple…

I think it just shows that he’s been replaying the same scenario in his head. This time with a different outcome.

I like the idea, if you’re going with the memory angle there’s no better way of demonstrating that.
I think it needs some more back and forth though between TROS Han and TFA Han.

I think a great way to start an ST 3-1 would be to have Luke’s failure at his training temple be the prelude of the film. It sets up the story nicely, and puts us right into the heart of the drama.

-The community has pioneered several cool things for the final scene. Use a processed alternate angle and delivery of the final line.

For the alternate Skywalker line take, does anyone have the 4k version of the TROS documentary? It’s just that the shot is really zoomed in and 1080p just won’t cut it.

To solve the problem of Ochi’s name, you could have Rey say his name while she puts her hand on the page with the wayfinder at the start of the film. That way, when she sees Ochi’s ship she instantly rememberes what Luke wrote in the Jedi texts. Or she can mention Ochi of Bestoon when she talks to Poe about following Luke’s trail in the forbidden desert of passana.

Pacing wise, it’s gold.

I’d go for cutting that entire scene. It’s just so… Cringe.
Also having Lando show up for the first time when he appears to Poe is more dramatically affective.

We can have Rey training scene following the Senate and Kylo conversation when they mention her, then after Falcon is mentioned we witnes this mission. This way, I think, movie flows more natural and has logical starting point, as in ANH where we follow droids to learn another pieces of a story.

It should also give more freedom to opening crawl cos both Rey and Falcon mission will be mentioned in the movie right before we see them. It should work regardless of shortening Falcon scene, restructuring Kylo vision, Palpatine lines or finding a wayfinder.

Nice, I would really like the contrast between the High speed life/death lightspeed skip chase with Rey calmly reading the books.

Oh yeah I remember reading that a while ago, seems like Ben’s redemption became a mandate? Also, changing the names of Planet’s like Coruscant while maintaining the same austhetic kinda reeks of studio meddling.
They really tried to pretend the prequels didn’t exist.

JJ’s complete blackout silence on the film is quite odd, I wonder what he feels about releasing an extended cut of the film. I hope it’s a question that get’s asked in future interviews and fan interactions.

Just the prospect of a sequel trilogy brought so much to the imagination.

In the future, with more media, it may be possible to heavily edit TLJ and Rise into this film, but that would take an incredible level of storywriting skill.

I’ll be keeping my eyes on any old Republic film/trilogy or series that may come out in the near future.

Like, what if Snoke was an agent of said threat. Sowing the seeds for a wider invasion.

since no Sith villains make for a less exciting franchise.

At the the announcement of the Lucasfilm buy-out I had my hopes up for a villian akin to the Yuzhon Vohng, an outer galaxy threat. An enemy that threatened the force itself.

Yeah, this really should have been a two-parter. Part I ends with Palpatine rejuvinated with the Sith Fleet unleashed and Part II spans a galaxy wide WAR.

2/3 year time jump. The Capital Has been taken by the Sith.
Rey and now Jedi Knight Ben Solo Rebuild the Jedi Order. Finn, Poe and Rose go behind enemy-lines, Storm-Trooper Revolution, Retaking The Capital, All that Jazz.
Ending on a Climactic Duel between the Jedi and the Sith at the former Jedi Temple (now Sith- Eternal Base).
Throw in a young Palpatine clone and you’re set for a duel that will end all duels.
