Money talks. If the world turned fascist tomorrow you can bet Disney will get on that bandwagon. They don’t care about anyone’s values, it’s all commercial virtue signalling. The goal is to get into people’s pockets.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CltXnrwB46kCut Lando Dialogue in a tv spot, “You said it Chewie, One Last time”
The music is loud but I know it was used in other tv spots without music if anyone can find it I think we can put as Lando’s first line when he arrives in Falcon saying “You said it Chewie, One Last time”
Damn isn’t that part of the scene in the novelisation where Lando picks up a framed picture of a young Luke, Han, Leia and Ben in the Falcon?
Thanks for the link Jake, I stand corrected!
Hey at least we have NFMisms doing the lawds work with what we have😉
Hmm that could be the case but I’m not entirely convinced, if it’s not too much trouble could you sight any sources for the Chewie brwl being part of Lord and Miller’s cut? I remember hearing an interview with Jonathan Kasdan where he talks about writing that scene.
I haven’t heard any actors involved say anything of that nature, I guess we’ll have to wait few years for a reveal all memoire or book to really know what happened behind the curtains.
Even Lord & Miller’s remaining scenes kinda show the much sillier tone (Han speaking Shyriiwook, etc.)
Do we really know that though?

Tbh I don’t really know what to believe. The script was pretty bland so I can totally see why they wanted to spice it up a little, and hey, those two have proven many times how capable they are as film-makers. One thing I know for sure is that it would have been a far more interesting film had they had been allowed to carry out their vision.
I think this is the kind of approach that Lord & Miller were originally going for. I even heard somewhere that they wanted the scenes on Correlia to be at the end of the 3rd act. Pitty, seams like the higher ups thought it was too much of a risk. I guess that’s why the finished cut ended up feeling so… generic.
Wasn’t that already done in TLJ?
I think the question is whether Finn’s story in the context of the film is better with the lost sister/father plot line or without. On one hand even though its extremely coincidental (like everything else in the film) you at least have a story for Finn. Without it he’s just, well, there. It’s so frustrating that JJ and Co were so obsessed with “family” as the only possible charachter arc. It almost reads like a Fast and Furious screenplay.
It’s hilarious that they even wrote it in the script. let alone greenlighting it to be shot.

In the Art of Book it says that in previous versions of TROS, Finn encountered a sibling on a wreckage world.

In the early leaks Janna was meant to be Finns sister and it would have been later revealed that Lando was their father (evidently from the visual dictionary and novelisation)

Didn’t Boyega also talk about his backstory getting fleshed out in one of the interviews?
Some very nice changes here, very much liked the music and laser enhancements!
Probably another hokey Jedi prophecy.
“The power of the X shall destroy the One True Emperor” !0!
Just wanted to stroll by and say. I’m So Hyped For This.
In that case, Luke saber being hidden within the bricks of the hut makes the most sense.
Would have been sick to have Palpatine hiding in the sith shrine deep below the temple instead of Exogol, right under the noses of the New Republic and The First Order. Imagine the surprise of the destroyers emerging from deep below the surface of the industrial regions of the capital. A true power play.
Judging from this concept art this may have been the case in an early draft.
https://mobile.twitter.com/CultureCrave/status/1218324295765512192/photo/1Okay, now I’m convinced the final sequence should be on Coruscant. My problem with it in DotF was that Rey and Kylo were halfway across the Galaxy from the big battle, but utilizing the Sith shrine beneath the Jedi Temple would be a brilliant way to remedy that. The Sith Citadel could be left as is, but the other 2/3 of the battle would require some FX work. Basically, you’d need to swap out the background. Finn’s mounted assault could be on the street, with defected stormtroopers, while Poe leads the battle in the skies. My one issue is I don’t see the fleet being hidden below Coruscant. Anyway, luckily, the ground isn’t visible in most shots, so it could just be said to be happening in the upper atmosphere. The space horses are visibly in the sky, however. Maybe they could stay there instead of on the streets?
In the 2017 script, Coruscant was used in the place of Exogol. So Palpatine could very well have been deep below the temple.
In the the Art of book it says that Kylo Ren took an elavator down to the deepest levels of the temple…

JJ seems to play the whole soundtrack in the last 40 minutes and doesn’t know who’s theme goes with what.
Yeah, this film would benefit greatly with a little score rearrangement / replacement.
Mind shooting me a link?
I think it just shows that he’s been replaying the same scenario in his head. This time with a different outcome.
I like the idea, if you’re going with the memory angle there’s no better way of demonstrating that.
I think it needs some more back and forth though between TROS Han and TFA Han.
