I definitely think throwing some TIEs on that new shot, slowing it down, and putting the forest shot at the end is the best thing to do with the intro.
I love the New Republic destruction bit, it works really well. The Kylo deleted scene is amazing too, definitely going to use that in a personal edit. I also really like the idea of showing Rey actually having dreams of the island, but I don’t know if I would use the entire dream sequence because you would have to reuse sequences from TLJ. I think it might be nice to have a quick vision of Ahch To and maybe Luke there and keep the original ending, but that’s just my preference. I love the night shots though, they’re gorgeous. Great work!

Anyways I remember Movies Remastered doing something really cool with the Han and Ben convo and taking some soundclips and moving it to Ben’s sacrifice. It made his ending moment a whole lot better but you would have to chop up the Han scene which would be sad because it’s the best scene in the movie. I would love to have a Ben line sometime during the end for a less radical version though.
Apparently Disney just updated TROS on D+ with a completely different color correction with less blue. No idea why they did that but it’s kinda funny.
Puppets look amazing! They’re so good that I definitely agree that we need at least one more shot of them so I can appreciate them as much as possible. I think if this was in the actual movie there would be a close-up of the puppets after the first shot because you’re actually supposed to see what they are, as opposed to the theatrical which is just some random puppet.
Maybe because I’ve heard the original a thousand times but it feels a little weird going from you are nothing to the sith line, it might be worth it to put You are nothing at the end so Rey is directly responding to that. But that version is great too.
Don’t know if anybody has done anything with biomes but I tried to color the mustafar scene.

That would actually be so much better if it could be done right. Like she’s accepted she’s more than an orphan scavenger while embracing the light side at the same time.
I think replacing the Anakin in ROTJ with a better looking ghost is definitely the best thing to do, idk how you would replace Shaw from the unmasking though. He looks great in ascendant.
Has there been a solid Rey Nobody implementation yet? I love the stuff happening for Ascendant but the movie won’t feel complete unless Rey Palpatine is scrubbed forever.

I also think a lot of the slo mo scenes can be trimmed as a lot of them go on way too long and get kind of annoying after a while. Definitely cut the Aquaman choir and the Wonder Woman arrow plot. Cutting the first Manhunter appearance might be good too. I don’t know if I would want any Whedon content in the movie on principle but some scenes might work. Cropping to fit the entire screen would be a good middle ground for aspect ratios too.
Now we just need to trim that awful wig and this scene will be perfect!
Quick Rey Nobody idea: Change Kylo’s “I pushed you because I needed you to see it… Who you are” to “What you are”
Luke’s fear line didn’t bother me that much, but I can see the reason for removing it. I wouldn’t mind removing it for a Rey palpatine version but I would probably keep it in to retain some Luke dialogue for a Rey nobody version since you’re already taking out a lot of Luke dialogue there. I think the interrupting is a pretty funny idea that works with Luke and Rey’s relationship as well.
I think version 4 is the best placement, but it does sound edited in as it is.
Unrelated, but would it be possible to make Leia the one that heals Ben? This would make Rey’s “will she turn to the darkside” arc more meaningful as she doesn’t immediately fix her mistake, makes her encounter with Luke more meaningful as she thinks she killed him, and makes her encounter with Ben on Exogol better as Rey realizes he’s alive. Don’t know how easy that would be to pull off though.
And cutting out Obi Wans little twirl he does
I think the explanation for the lack of third lesson is that Luke just never got to it. Rey left in anger to go save Kylo after Luke got pissed and destroyed the hut after he saw them hand touching. That’s why they deleted the Caretaker Village scene, to make Rey leave more abruptly after it seemed like her training was going well. So you could include it in TROS, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
True, removing lines like “My parents were strong” would help. I don’t know how possible it would be but making some new Kylo dialogue for the ForceLink fight/hangar scene to “reveal” that her parents left her because she was a Palpatine would be really great, then you’d probably have to remove their death scene. I don’t know how removing any of the parent stuff would work for a Rey Nobody version though.
I think Rey feeling unworthy of Luke’s saber plays well into her feeling like she’s not able to live up to Luke’s legend and being the last Jedi, which is a good character arc, especially with the added puppet scene.
That looks pretty good, the only thing I notice is the first establishing shot, it just looks like it’s bright and sunny and someone turned down the brightness.

I saw a trailer for AOTC from a 35mm copy that was super grainy and it actually looked great and made the CGI look 1000 times better. I think the prequels definitely need that. The sequels look pretty good already but some grain could look nice.
How did you get around the hangar reveal MR? That scene seemed like the toughest to pull off in my memory
