How will you die
Time
At age 85, you will be hunted by a strange apparition resembling Andy Griffith, and subsequently commit suicide after the stress proves to be too much.

No, I will starve to death from the oil crash because the state of California is a massive desert artifically kept alive by cheap energy, just Arrakis in the Dune series.

**It has happened, Original films on DVD!!**
Time
-sigh- I hate to say this, but this is the best we will EVER get on DVD for the OOT. Yes, it's letterbox, a virtually unused technique for presenting widescreen fims since 2000, and Lucas has won. Tampering can be made to make it somewhat anamorphic, but in six months time Lucas will be victorious in his decade-long destruction of a beloved trilogy. SW has become Disneyland now-a work that is never finished. Sure after Lucas kicks the bucket his successors will definitely want to keep Lucas' intentions alive and we'll get the Stalinist censorship and reenvisioning claiming to be his intent back in the 70s. I know I said I would avoid the DVDs like the plauge, but VHS will fall apart after ten years, but at least DVD last 5 times longer than VHS and by then it can be a tempelate to keep it in substandard conditions for every future video format to eternity. It just proof of the death of something we loved.

OK, the DVDs are coming...so how bad are they going to look?
Time
If all you have is the VHS, then you should really get the DVDs. For those of us who own the LDs and a LD player- the benefit is less clear, but even a non-anamorphic transfer will be a huge improvement over VHS, for a lot less money than you would spend on the LDs and a decent LD player.

Even if you have the 04 DVD sets already? and BTW, I dont think I have a widescreen computer (it's a gateway)

Say the SE release in theaters bombed in 1997?
Time
Now it's all going to Lucas' plan. He will release the OOT in letterbox, nobody will buy it, he will claim there isnt a demand for the OOT, SE gets altered and rehased on an annual basis, so by the time blu ray arrives we only can see the OT in 3-d and with so many alterations that the 04 dvds begin to look good. Then the OOT will be truly dead.

Or we can probably anticipate a OT release every six months from now on, eventually getting what we want, but only in subnuclear steps.
