GL is a remorseless creature, plain and simple. Once you think he can't sink any lower, he plunges us deeper into his monstrous behavior. It's gotten so bad that I'm feeling nostalgic for the SE and TPM!
And the paradox is that Lucas is doing more damage to the OUT than any colorizer did to any B&W film.
Were still not getting the originals, so why bother about the BD release?
I apologize for the suicidal comments I have have made. And no, I do not plan to kill myself over a movie.
But what makes me so upset is watching the originals rot and not being able to do anything to stop. You know it's inevitable that Lucas will allow these films to be disintegrated and I'm pissed. IMO it is an atrocity that the medium of film will not recover from.
He'll get away with it anyway.

Now Lucas says that it is too expensive to remaster, so they still do exist, but it is just too expensive now. We've done our job, and I don't think there is much we can do, other then waiting for Mr. Lucas to give in.
Lucas has committed the greatest crime in human history by destroying the originals. This is yet another step in strangling its life away.

Cameron is not making the original version of Avatar illegal.
Lucas, however, thinks it is his "vision" to suppress the OOT.
He's a cold businessman (Lucas). He doesn't care about approval ratings.
And the crime will have been committed.
But still, no director has treated his films as atrociously as Lucas.

Why did SW deserve to be treated so badly by Lucas?

No matter what we do, Lucas will always be stacked against us. He has more money, more yesmen, more sympathy in the media than we do. It's checkmate, so let's stop huffing the gasoline.
He has comitted The greatest atrocity in film history. This is so grevious a crime that I feel that the whole medium of film should be destroyed if it should come to pass that SW, ESB, and ROTJ are allowed to be remorselessly destroyed by it's own creator.
Makes me cynical about life.
