I don’t know about a 35mm scan of Song of the South, only a 16mm scan available on myspleen.

I’m 1.70 m tall, and for the metric illiterates that’s 5’7.
I wish I was at least 1.93 m/6’4, but sadly I realized that I wasn’t going to grow much taller as relatives on both sides of my family are on the short side.
I knew quite a lot about the historical events the film is based on from watching an E! True Hollywood Story on Roman Polanski many years ago, and even when the movie “went off to the rails” from the true story, I was far too bored to care.
Side note on Roman Polanski: undoubtedly great filmmaker, he can go fuck himself as a human being and those who stand by him should be ashamed of themselves. Learn to separate the art from the artist.
I recently watched the movie Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, Tarantino’s latest movie, and felt like I wasted three hours of my life.
Seriously I don’t get the heaps of praise. Absolutely nothing happens in the movie, yet everywhere it’s being hailed as Tarantino’s most mature movie to date. This is no doubt one of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen.
The key difference between IG-88/Bossk and Boba Fett is that nobody praises them as badasses in the same way they do Boba Fett despite doing nothing.
Strip away all the supplementary material, and judging him exclusively on the movies, I must say Boba Fett is amongst the most overrated characters in Star Wars.
The only thing he has going for him is the undeniably cool looking suit of armour. Apart from that he does absolutely nothing noteworthy, and in TESB they only call him “bounty hunter”, just to show how little Lucas thought about him.
I sincerely don’t understand why he’s so popular with fans as he’s pretty much a nothing character.
It has been established that droids can feel pain, as evidenced by the droid torture chamber in Jabba’s Palace, though C-3PO seems to shrug it off (maybe he occasionally reacts to pain when being reassembled but my memory is fuzzy on that one), so it seems droids have a pain program that can be activated.
My question is why would droids be programmed to feel pain?
Today’s news about Rian Johnson’s SW trilogy still being in development is pretty reassuring.
My unpopular opinion on the ST: TLJ will be redeemed by the passage of time and stand out as the only worthwhile entry of the ST.
Kind of agree. I have a soft spot for TFA and I can forgive it for not doing a whole lot, because of the context of the time it was made in. Its purpose was to bring back trust in Lucasfilm after the Disney buyout and the prequels, and it honestly did its job.
TFA had the opposite effect on me. Repackaging the first SW movie and relying on nostalgia left me deeply disappointed, and I don’t know why TFA is still regarded so highly. For all their flaws I still find enjoyment in the prequels, but TFA is just plain garbage, and I don’t buy into the whole “they had to play it safe to earn the fans trust”. Bullshit!
I suggest a little experiment.
Try watching TLJ after watching the OT, and you’ll find it works pretty well as a coda to the saga.
I’ve posted previously that if it were up to me, I would have started the ST with TLJ or at the very least a movie that bears a strong resemblance to it.

The misogyny has been toned down considerably around the Dalton era, but yeah, it’s because of it that the older Bond movies, particularly the Connery era, have not aged well in that regard.
Patrick Willems, whose YouTube channel is definitely worth watching, says Vader’s slaughtering scene in RO, while visually cool, is ultimately devoid of substance.
The Clone Wars is overrated.
I really hate that stupid show.
Besides, the opening crawl says “first major victory”. I didn’t expect the Rebel alliance to have had absolutely no success against the Empire before that, I just expected it to be smaller victories, which is what we see in Rebels.
As I stated before, it’s always mission accomplished with (almost) no casualties, smooth sailing. The victories should have been few and far between, and the very few times they succeed the sense of progress feels short-lived because of how small the victories are, and despite the seemingly hopeless outlook they refuse to give up. That IMO would have made for a more compelling show than the smooth sailing, risk averse garbage we got.
And like Neverar said, the opening crawl said first victory, plain and simple, not major.
Heh, you think I remember this movie?
Anyway, I feel like it’s a bit like ‘Their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire’, which got thrown out the window in Rebels.
Exactly. The Rebels thwarting the Empire episode after episode renders the struggles of the OT meaningless, and to top it off it’s always mission accomplished with no casualties. I really hate that stupid show.
Ashoka should be killed off. I’m tired of her showing up in every piece of supplemental material.
I recently watched a retrospective on the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire multimedia project, and on the segment dedicated to the SotE videogame they reference the fact that it has a bit of everything, an on-rails shooter, third-person action shooter, starfighter shooter, and they consider this a weakness but I disagree.
I kinda miss games that had a bit of everything. Now it’s strictly a platformer, an action RPG, an open world adventure, but there’s no mix-and-match.
Dash Rendar and Prince Xizor. Everyone is always dismissing Dash Rendar as discount Han Solo, but I still think he could work, make him more ruthless and far more driven by material gain.
Clan Ordo of the Mandalorian.
The Old Republic era.
Dash would work really well in an environment like The Mandalorian, and with the way Dave loves the implement legends material, we could see him in the near future.
The Old republic will 100% appear in canon again. The High Republic is the current goal at Lucasfilm & I feel it is a worthy successor to the OLD old Republic we know from legends.
BTW, Josh Holloway would be my pick for Dash, as he’s got that rugged devil-may-care look that perfectly fits with the character.
First of all I must say I’m surprised this topic hasn’t been posted yet.
A few years ago I remember reading an article in which actor Derek Jacobi expressed his desire to be in a SW movie, which got me thinking there’s a few people I would love to see involved in the franchise.
Christian Bale as a Sith Lord, in fact he’d perfect as Darth Revan.
Morgan Freeman as a wise old Jedi Master. Seriously how has this not happened is beyond me.
A SW directed by Luc Besson.
What about you guys? Post away.

Clan Ordo of the Mandalorian.
The Old Republic era.
I don’t think that’s an unpopular opinion. Lots of people have expressed their disappointment at Rey being retconned as the long lost descendant of a previously established character.
Ever since Luke’s appearance in The Mandalorian I’ve noticed several videos on YouTube praising the scene and using it as an excuse to throw further shade at TLJ. What’s the deal with that?
Seriously, I don’t understand the online vitriol.
After three years and people are still throwing shade at this movie.
I, on the other hand, don’t understand why everyone loves that final confrontation between Maul and Kenobi. Maul obsessed with picking a fight with Kenobi was such a waste of a story arc.
Star Wars Rebels is probably the worst of the Disney era.
