'13-30 Extraflirty' fan edit (Released)

That, right there, is a sweet, sweet cover. Indeed it is. And I'm really looking forward to seeing this edit of WOTW - I was disappointed with the theatrical cut.

Puts the commercial release cover to shame.
As do so many of the covers by the very talented individuals on this board. There are some simply amazing designs. So much better than some of the awful retail covers (Serenity, WOTW, SW, etc) - full of big shots of the 'stars' and a ton of quotes.

As soon as I get the cover artwork, I can start seeding it. I'm hoping to have it up by tonight...latest, tomorrow.

I could always seed it without the cover art but people seem to be pretty anal about that so I might as well wait.
Cool beans. I'm sure we can all wait another day to get that cover art. Glad you're waiting to receive the cover art before seeding it - its easier for us all if its included rather than having to hunt or hope someone has a 'yousendit.com' download of the art.

Thanks digitalfreaknyc. Looking forward to this one...

That's a much better tagline. I didn't like the 'They aim to misbehave' tagline on the UK cover either. Unfortunately, everything is geared towards 'Joe Public' - stars on the box, reviewer quotes, flashy covers etc.

A Bonus DVD of promo footage from "Serenity" was included with the Battlestar Galactica (The UK version) Box Set when it was released in the USA last year. Some of you may want to include that with any fan edits you may put out.
Damn, I missed that when it came out. Now I want it...

A good site for details of retailer's special bonus dvds is DVD Fanboy.

I have a quick question..

This is a DL DVD. Is the layer change determined in the authoring program by the author, or is it determined by the burning program.

I was going to add a file to the DVD_ROM folder, create an ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter.

I'm just curious as to where the layer change will occur. Thanks.

The New Doctor Who
Time
I thought Christopher Eccleston made an excellent Doctor Who, and definitely carried the show. It was an impressive performance, but the show was still Dr Who - still rough around the edges, and still very British (or Welsh ); not like the Americanization attempt featuring Paul McGann.

As for David Tennant, hard to tell. He was 'unconscious' for most of the Christmas episode, and when he came alive, he seemed to be aping some of Eccleston's goofiness/humor. Although I liked his more serious moment at the end with the Prime Minister.

I'll reserve judgement til he has a whole episode of his own.

My wife doesn't like him because she thinks he looks like a weasel

I'm looking forward to the new series. Yes, K-9 returns (in Episode 3) with Sarah Jane. I'm also looking forward to the return of the Cybermen, although I'm not really wowed by the new design. I always preferred the Cybermen to the Daleks for some reason. I wish they had been a little more adventurous with the Dalek design too.

As for less 'Earth' stories, I believe the scripts include more 'alien world' stories. Personally, I just want to get away from Earth for less Mickey and less of Rose's annoying mum.

Hehe, as an aside, whilst looking up info for this reply, I noticed this wallpaper and was amused.

Aahh, so I wasn't going crazy. BTW, WELCOME TO OT.COM !!! YOU'LL FIND MOST OF THE BEST FORUM MEMBERS HERE, BUT WATCH YOUR STEP. THIS PLACE CAN BE A LITTLE ROUGH.
Thank you for the welcome. I don't know what took me so long to find this place. I had signed the petition long ago, but for whatever reason, just left it at that. Now I'm re-kindling and re-discovering Star Wars and various other movies. I'll tread carefully

Hmmm, that's odd. According to the Red Dwarf site and this Australian store, the R4 DVDs feature the "un-remastered" episodes. As far as I can tell, only the Czech market features the re-mastered episodes. The UK and US DVDs are DEFINITELY "un-remastered".

As an aside, I have the Red Dwarf Tongue Tied VHS video (PAL format) which I'll get round to transferring to DVD later on this year (2006) if anyone is interested...

Now THIS sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how the scenes from the other movies blend into this and the better sounding concept. WOTW just didn't WOW me in the theater at all. It was ok. And then that cheesy ending just destroyed it.

'The Essence of the Ring' also sounds intriguing - as you state, a different perspective will be cool. I've just got the Entulesse Edit of LOTR so I have to get round to seeing how that differs from the movies. Ok, now I'm off to watch the CBB 'Kirkless Generations'.

Uploading Author icon - Problems
Time
Hmmm, I'm having problems.

My profile won't allow me to upload my own author icon. Is there a site-wide prevention to this or am I missing something ?

Every time I try and upload my icon I get :

Your attachment could not be uploaded due to either a file error, or your file is not a valid image (JPEG,GIF)

I've tried the file extensions .gif .GIF .jpg .jpeg .JPG .JPEG

and all I get is the same error message.

My jpg version of the image is at : the end of this link

I guess I'm missing something. I made the image in Photoshop, and as far as I can tell, everything is right on my end.

Can anyone help me ??

OMG. Those coffret trilogie covers are simply awesome. I would love those exactly as they are. No text. Nothing else. Arnie D. - Please stick with the original ANH design. I think it suits your whole trilogy of covers better than the Tusken Raider painting.

Coov - your covers look great too.

I love these very different takes on cover artwork.

Info Wanted: Original Red Dwarf?

Just to add to that:

Season 7 features a newly remastered version of one episode "Tikka to Ride" with apparently new CGI (I haven't seen this one yet so can't comment).

As for the remastered versions of seasons 1-3 - if you really MUST see them, - they appear on DVD in the Czech Republic market - here's Season 3, Season 2, and Season 1.

If you can read Czech... Oh, and you can buy them here.

At least for the rest of the us, the originals were chosen to be preserved to DVD and we don't have to wait around for someone to edit them back to how we remember them Unless someone wants to edit that Mc back into Kryten

Thank you Thank you Thank you. Bwlag. You ROCK

I am like a kid waiting for Santa to arrive looking out the window for a glimpse of the mailman. Can't wait. I'll let you know when they arrive. As for the missing disc, no rush at all.

Once I receive the discs, I'll be offering PIFs to anyone who might want anything from the package and from what I already have. List coming soon...

Wow Now I'm even more impressed. Your work is phenomenal. I love your edits both technically and artistically.
