Star Wars DVD Covers

The thing is, the AVERAGE consumer probably doesn't really care. I used to see the AVERAGE consumer where I used to work, all the time and 95% of them pretty much knew nothing about movies.

Oh, and those covers are terrible. Just unbelievable how bad a PROFESSIONAL piece of work can be. Especially when you see the talent of the covers in this thread. The best cover I've seen recently is for the 2-disc V for Vendetta - it captures the essence of the movie nicely.

You might not. And I certainly wouldn't. BUT - there were plenty of people willing to drop over $1000 - $1500 on XBOX 360 on ebay. It will be interesting to see if the Wii will reclaim the gaming crown for Nintendo. But didn't people say that when Gamecube was released. I'd be interested in seeing the Wii's capabilities on an HDTV. Admittedly, I haven't checked out any of the specs on it.

Originally posted by: nflchampion Not sure if you guys were aware, but I just went to the starwars.com site and the reference to the original crawl is still there.

There as I'm seeing it now on Friday, May 5, 2006. Maybe they put it back or something.
Maybe they're following this thread and our reactions to the announcement

This is just fantastic news. It's going to be real interesting to see what these look and sound like.

The downside is of course, treating the OTs as bonus features. The PT movies all got a two-disc set with tons of bonus goodies.

And when the 2004 OT was released, we got 3 movie discs and 1 bonus disc. 4 discs as opposed to the 6 disc PT.

So, now, with this great opportunity to redress the balance with each OT movie getting its own bonus disc, LFL goes and screws it up by making the OT the bonus. Aaaaaarrrghghhh!!! What about all of those great BTS features that the fantastic people on this board have done amazing jobs of preserving. Everything from the Executor boxset and beyond. Why don't they offer heaps of money to OCPMovie and Jambe for the rights to Deleted Magic, Building Empire, and Returning to Jedi ?

A wasted opportunity.

Yayy. I get the 2004 discs again !!!!

Nevermind. I don't know why I'm surprised.

Still, glad to get an official release of the OT on DVD - better than nothing. But I am glad the preservationists on this board do what they do.

Klokwerk's CBB DVD Covers Thread (3 Covers + Disc Art Available)

('why is he wearing a hospital gown ?' the uninitiated would muse...). Perhaps making it more "horror" or overt would blunt the subtlety ?
I completely agree. I really like the cover. It's a braver cover than a straightahead horror cover. Unlike many official covers that scream 'This is a horror movie' or 'This is a sci-fi movie'. If this isn't the final cover, I'd really like a copy of it in this form klokwerk.

ALSO what do you all think... Should I post the DL or SL versions??? - MY vote is for the DL versions!!!!
DL definitely. It's always harder to come by DL versions of discs. Those who don't have a DL burner can use DVD Shrink to get it down to DVD-5. The rest of us can enjoy the highest possible quality.

Wish I could help on the seeding front but I guess I'll have to wait and download from Spleen. Waiting anxiously for all of them... (HPs and the rest - if anyone wants to PIF them I'll seed)

Hehe

This is beginning to sound like a British ex-pats thread.

Gotta chip in my 2-cents worth as another ex-pat Brit in the US.

Yes, British chocolate is the best. Like someone said earlier, American chocolate is just wrong. My wife couldn't believe the difference between US and UK equivalents of chocolate bars (KitKat, Twix, Snickers (Marathon etc). There is no comparison. She won't touch anything Hersheys now.

Strangely, the Creme Eggs around here this year were actually made in the UK. Proper ones However, the mini-eggs are the Hershey-licensed crap which disappoints me to no end. Mini-eggs rule.

Luckily for me, there are a couple of 'British' stores around me so I have access to most things I miss, albeit at a cost.

And as 'Yoda Is Your Father' said, cheese is the other thing I think Americans have no clue about. Sharp cheddar ! Um, what exactly is meant by sharp. A little more 'no-flavor' than mild cheddar. I'll take a mature UK cheddar any day of the week. Again, I can get hold of a pretty large selection of cheeses from the UK and Europe where I am, so I'll consider myself fortunate on that front. Now where's my jar of Branston...

Okay, it took me a couple of days to juggle with too much work but I finally got to see this.

Doctor M. It rocks. I might as well throw away my original now. I actually had no problems with the quality. Maybe a couple of sound edits were a tad rough but nothing that made me wince. Great work and well done for making a disappointing movie much more watchable.

Looking forward to the Revolution.

And the DVDs.

Nick, I'm one of the 5 names so PM me and I'll get you a disc.

Here's everything you'll need to know about this short-lived TV series - on the WB - cancelled after just 13 episodes (well, 14 if you include the unaired pilot)

Birds of Prey Online

Gotham Clock Tower

I believe Rikter has this on his release list - I keep meaning to ask him about it - I have a couple of different versions of the unaired pilot on VHS and the series on 2nd generation VHS.

Just noticed this thread. I've just joined my local library and whilst browsing, re-discovered Neil Gaiman. I'm mixing up some Sandman, Death, and Magic along with his collaboration with Terry Pratchett - Good Omens (OMG - too funny !!!)

How do you co-write a book anyway?

I also picked up American Gods but haven't started it yet.

It's been a while since I've read anything, too busy watching all these fan edits.

Doctor M, an xvid would be cool for immediate viewing. Sorry to hear about the sync problems you are having. Sync. Grrrr. One of my least favorite words when it comes to video editing as it always seems to be the problem I come across most.

Anyway, I would really like a DVD too for viewing on my widescreen TV, much more preferable to me. I would be willing to start a PIF channel for you if you like, sending on to 10-20 requests, of which I'm sure they'll be plenty of.
