The Crow Edit (* unfinished project *)

Originally posted by: Doctor M Can anyone tell me the source of the CD-Rom? How was it sold? My wife believes she bought it from somewhere like Amazon - it was released for retail. More details about it at this Brandon Lee website

It looks like you can buy it here

and maybe this one - it looks like it is actually the CD-ROM of the first movie - not City of Angels - probably a CD-R version.

Originally posted by: Doctor M I'd also like detail on the "fan made" film.
I remember seeing this a lot on ebay back in the day but after searching around now, I can't find anything about it. I know that it used scenes from the original movie and everything I heard about it was good but other than that, I can't elaborate.

Originally posted by: Spence101287 I believe it was called Stairway to Heaven. Nothing has ever been officially released on dvd, but that's never stopped us before!
Actually, that's not quite true. It was released in Europe and Australia, so obviously PAL.

Comparison between the two

ebay has the Australia volumes 1-6 for about $45 for the two plus shipping.

Hmmm, I guess mine is probably either

The extremely rare Region 1 Ed Wood DVD with the above cover: never released officially in this format - I also got hold of the version they did (almost) release and then withdrew
Army of Darkness #20,000 out of 30,000 - although I think someone here had #1

Damnit. My wife has the CD-ROM but it is tucked away in storage about 2,000 miles away. Grrrr.

I think the idea of this edit is excellent. Doing something very creative with it. Of course the original is excellent as it is. I really like that you are planning something creative with it. Something more than adding deleted scenes to a movie or trimming the fat.

I hope to get to see the workprint sometime soon - I know Rikter has got hold of a copy of it recently. I'd also like to see that student fan-made film - does anybody here have it ?

Koyaanisqatsi - IRE Fullscreen Version (MORE IMAGE!) (Released)
Time
Thanks for uploading this version of this amazing film. I'd really love to catch one of the Philip Glass live concert screenings of this one day. Unfortunately, only 3 performances happened this year (2 in Canada, 1 in Italy), with none scheduled for the remainder of 2006.

All of the different cover designs here are really nice too.

Info, & Help Wanted: My Fan Edits, and help needed to put them up online...
Time
Wow. Some really interesting edits here. I look forward to getting the chance to see what you've done with everything. I did have a VHS Tribbles similar to your edit but it was sourced from VHS and of low quality. The Doctor Who edits look interesting too.

I noticed your downloads are WMVs. Have you authored any of them to DVD - I presume so as you have DVD covers.

I can't help with uploads as torrents but I'd be willing to help PIF DVDs to folks here in the US (ie - you send me copies of the DVDs, I duplicate and send them onwards to people who request them).

Let me know if that would help...

I think I'll including the PGCEdit HTML in the DVD-Rom folder of Goblet
Thanks for your reply Rikter. I hade already used that method using that guide but still had problems. I've used that guide for all my previous DL burns with no problems. I'm going to take another look at it this weekend. I WILL get it to burn. Glad to see you included the instructions for others on the Goblet DL. Strangely, there are not a whole ton of guides out there on the interweb for DL burning.

Not necessarily the same problem but I definitely have issues with this one.

I use PGC Edit to determine the best layer break and then burn with IMG Burn. However, no matter which cell I use as layer break, I always come up with the same error.

Which is that L0 > L1 and this is an illegal something or other.

How have other people burned this DL disc. Would I be better off just creating an ISO and burning that in direct in IMG Burn?

I really don't want to reduce it to a SL disc.

Every other DL disc I've burnt with PGC Edit has been fine.

Doctor M. I'm so sorry. I completely forgot to comment on the movies. It's been a hella busy last few weeks for me.

Maybe I'm just not critical enough to QA but I didn't spot all of the glitches that Commander Courage did. I did notice that first extra frame but thats all.

Reloaded - worked great for me. I loved the flow of the story and it felt much more connected to the original movie.
Revolutions - well, I preferred it to the original, but its still the poor child of the three. I did like the Zion break between the action set-pieces. I didn't think I would when I read you had done that. I still find the action a little mind-numbing though.

However your cuts were great. Don't be so hard on your editing skills. You took some very complicated movies and did a great card shuffle on them.

Sorry I can't be more precise or critical in my comments for you - I'm easily pleased - but thanks again for the first run of the discs. I will still PIF either these or any replacements you make.

Pirates of The Caribbean: Extended Edition - A Spence Edit (Released)
Time
Other than the reflection and the 'Special Extended Edition' tag, I prefer the first. I really like covers that do something very different from the standard promotional material.

Having said that, the second one IS really nice.

Spence - please stick to DL - its a long movie already - shrinking the extended version down to SL would be a significant quality loss.
