Gen Con is this weekend in Indianapolis. We're going Friday. Anyone else from the boards heading up?

Groot is curious why no one believes in his home planet.
I, uh, went a little overboard last night and used Comixology to buy most of the recent "Prelude" and "Infinity" comics that tie into the MCU. Surprisingly, they're all pretty good.
Why would it need to be his hand?!
Adywan wants to do the prequels, he's putting this on himself. ;-)
The visuals are locked down and the audio is temporary.
Wanted to post this during the outage:
We have 3 human characters who live through the period between 3 and 4: Obi-Wan, Beru, and Owen. They all live on Tatooine and they all age terribly. So the simple answer is that the twin suns make you look older than you are.
I was going to say that maybe people look older in the SW Universe, but TFA takes place an appropriate amount of time after RotJ for the actors to be as old as they are. But if any of them live on Tatooine in the meantime, my theory goes right out.
I missed the news things! Awesome!
I'd rather have the directors who grew up as fans of the originals and are inspired by the "well-established, trusted directors" than those directors. Most of them are also into their own franchises or outgrew franchises years ago. I mean, look at Ridley Scott. He came back to a franchise he created and made "Prometheus". Do we want that in our Star Wars?
Same here, ray. It looks to really capture the feeling of the original movies.

Blade Runner is meh plus at best.
Yes, and it always threw me off when people said his name.TV's Frink said:
Apparently you haven't been watching our edits, where people pronounce it the correct way.
Team Olé
I just realized that I mentally pronounce "Olie" as "Olé". I hope I'm not the only one.
There were clips from The Ridiculous Menace, weren't there. I knew Team Olie was up to no good.Ronster said:
I have a few suspicions about a certain video I saw though and perhaps a certain person here might have been involved with.
call it a hunch :)
You can listen to me try to figure all this out while watching the movie on a podcast. http://www.tysto.com/2014/09/commentary-rise-apes-with-drew/TV's Frink said:
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
A very good but slightly disappointing movie. Very good until the apes go ape-shit, at which point it becomes disappointing. Disappointing because the CG apes are really bad CG during the action at the end. One nitpick, how did the apes go from numbering just a few (maybe 30?) at the facility to hundreds (thousands?) once they break out? Going to one zoo to free more apes didn't make me buy it. Also, I don't buy that Ceasar could just roll some magic gas into the facility and make all the other apes super smart as well.
Dare I ask for Dalton Bond with a lightsaber?
JMOW, you have to understand by now that asking Adywan for an update is the definition of bothering him.
Things are progressing just fine.
I tried to convince Mrs O'Five that we need to go see T5:
"A lot of our friends say its actually a lot of fun."
"We watched the trailer for that... Is that the one with Arnold?"
"They all have Arnold."
"I mean, the one where he has a lot of cheesy lines."
"They all have cheesy lines."
"The one where the girl says the lines everyone else said in the other movies. 'Come with me if you want to live.'"
"That's the one."
"I'm not seeing that."
I had the ILM "digital" book, which focused on post-JP since it was called "Into The Digital Realm". It did cover the SE in the last chapter, but it was well before any of the 2004 changes.
The Disney XD app has the first episode of “Droid Tales” up a week early. I cannot stress how incredible it is. It’s now my personal canon of how the prequels actually went.
To give you an idea, it begins at the end of Return of the Jedi, and when Luke sees Hayden Christensen as a Force Ghost, he questions who he is and why he looks so much different then he did 5 minutes ago. It’s like we wrote it.

"Princess Leia" was a disappointing series overall. Here's hoping next week's "Lando" is better. "Darth Vader" #7 had some moments.
I can save you d_e, for I had the same problem until I found this image a few weeks ago:darth_ender said:
However, I cannot get past the Tyrannosaurus paddock problem, where the ground magically drops 100 feet between T. rex's escape and Grant's/Lex's descent on the wire. I cannot think of a reasonable justification.
He's right, having two Xbox Ones, two Golds, and two copies of the game is expensive, which is why we sold our second one, assuming that we could at least still play Halo together.Tobar said:
Looks like the mourning of the loss of co-op in HALO is spreading
All this love for TOS makes my heart aflutter.
I missed Frink getting excited about RvB? Dammit.
