If this is the wrong place shoot this out there. Sorry but i had a thought what if the prequels instead of being three movies what if they were three separated premium or syndicated mini series or three full seasons to give enough time for the story to breath and of course written by george lucas but guided by someone so they come out great. Also this would mean there would be no need for a clone wars series because in this version the clone wars begins in episode 1. Same goes for return of the jedi a mini series would have worked for that movie as well.

Definitely the wrong thread since that has nothing to do with Empire Strikes Back Revisited or even Adywan’s plans for the prequels. There are plenty of other prequel edit threads where this could be suggested and probably already has been.

Oh it wasn’t about a fan edit it was a what if i was wondering if that would have been better prequels than what we got same goes for jedi. Only reason i brought it up is it seem like the thread was veering off topic anyway and i just thought i throw that out there sorry if i shouldn’t have.

So it literally had nothing to do with anything. We have a thread for exactly that.

STAR WARS: REBELS (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread
Time

Maul sees Tattooine because of Obi-Wan, Ezra because Luke is the key to defeating the Sith. So if they go to Tattooine to save Obi-Wan, they’re going to assume that Ezra just saw into Maul’s vision, not that it was the answer to his as well, and they’ll just leave.

Episode ends with Ezra-aged Luke, watching the suns set and a tiny Ghost taking off in the distance.

The Force Awakens: 1.78:1 scenes in 2D? - with recreation of IMAX scene (Released)

Film IMAX was full 1.44:1 the entire sequence. I’m not sure how they cropped those shots, but they looked just fine.

Are you sure this sequence was 1.44:1 in the IMAX version in the theater? I thought it looked more like 16:9 when I saw it. I don’t remember the height difference being so drastic.

I saw it on 15 perf 70mm film, which was 1.44:1. The digital “IMAX” screens are 1.9:1, which is what most people saw it in. And the entire Falcon Escape sequence filled the entire screen. Either the shots Ady points out are mistakes made in the STARZ conversion and weren’t cropped in theaters or they cropped it into the sequence and did enough digital trickery that people didn’t notice a drastic drop in quality in those shots.

However, when I saw it like that, the rest of the 35mm footage was noticeably worse than the IMAX, like even that something went wrong in the conversion.

You have to wonder if the IMAX scenes were cropped from 4:3 to 16:9 in height like the non-IMAX scenes were cropped down to 16:9 in width. That means some is still missing. From a completist point of view, this is fascinating, but with this being the 7th installment and all the others not being shot in this format, not to mention that the entire movie wasn’t shot in this format, it isn’t something I am going to worry about.

The IMAX scenes on the STARZ stream are cropped vertically from 1.44:1 to 1.78:1, while the rest of the movie is cropped horizontally from 2.39:1 to 1.78:1. We are indeed still missing visual information, but this comes CLOSE to recreating the 1.9:1 of the Digital IMAX presentation.

Google killing Picasa is killing me. I’m trying to host all of my Visual Comparisons outside of my personal account, and I just don’t have the same functionality in Google Photos. I love Photos for my personal use, but it doesn’t work the way I need to share them to the public without it wanting the user to join the album or add the pictures to their personal account.
