STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I think he can just cut out Vader's shuttle dropping out of the SD in RotJ and paste it over the "shuttle" in ESB. No reframing, nothing but pasting over whats already there, maybe having to erase the "shuttle" first.

I'm hoping to do another storyboard with my idea about how that would look tonight.

also, I had done cover art some time ago and posted the rapidshare link for those interested, it didn't make it into the DVD-ROM folder though. No bruised feelings or anything, but it's still over at fanedit.org if anybody wants it.

Damn, sorry about that. I thought i had put them all on the DVD.

Is mine on there?

if you go back through this thread, there is plenty of cover shots for
both the revisited, and purist versions, and if you get the dvd9,
there is cover art included....

here's a whole bunch of covers..

He wants disc art, which few have made, and no one has made PURIST covers at all. I would suggest just typing PURIST on Ady's disc art and printing it out as "Disc 2". If I was printing out disc labels, that's what I'd do.

Here's something I want to ask you guys, and please put some thought into it before you answer it. If those elements of Vader's shuttle leaving Bespin and docking in the Star Destroyer were in there since the 1980 release of Empire, would so many of you be so gung-ho to remove them? I don't think so.

If it slowed down the exciting escape as much as it does now, I'd still be all about getting rid of it. It's completely pointless. We know that Vader's shuttle came and took him to his Star Destroyer without showing him entering in it, flying it away from Bespin, landing it, and getting out.

I'd seed the original XVID, but I can't figure out how to make uTorrent recognize that I already have it downloaded and just want to add it to the list...

Have you tried selecting the folder that holds the XviD as your download folder for that torrent?

I tried starting the download, pausing it, and replacing the temp files with the finished ones, but that didn't work. It's alright, there seemed to be plenty of seeds yesterday. And do I really want to push out the first draft?

Anybody getting close to putting up a torrent anytime soon for the NTSC version?

should be up by tomorrow on demonoid/mininova if i can
double check everything...i'll probably post the non-ISO
version (VIDEO_TS) with the fix just in case...we'll see..

the DVD-5 version almost has 5 people completed after
a week, so it should be a lot faster getting that now..
i don't know how long it will take to get this..

if you have a rapidshare account, it will be a LOT faster,
as someones uploading it there, i could probably help
speed that upload also, if its not done yet..

As a gesture of goodwill, I've been redownloading the DVD-5 to seed and share, and also the PURIST that is torrented from fanedit.org. Since there was only 1 seed and only a handful of leechers off and on this weekend, I still don't have PURIST, but I've downloaded the DVD-5 and already seeded it almost 3 whole times (I wasn't home all weekend, so why waste my high speed not doing anything?). I'm ready for the NTSC DVD-9 torrent, where I will try to get it and seed it as much as I can for at least the next week. I think the fixed VIDEO_TS non-ISO will work alright, since that is what the PURIST that is up there is.

I'd seed the original XVID, but I can't figure out how to make uTorrent recognize that I already have it downloaded and just want to add it to the list...

You call it "post-production". It's sad that you have to start at the end to get to the beginning.

Happy birthday, Ady!

For all my burning, I use CDBurnerXP. It's totally free. I haven't burned any DVD-9s with it, but I have burned the Revisited DVD-5 ISO with it. It burns HD DVDs and Blu Rays, so I assume it can handle dual layers. :-)

People might give it a shot to test it out.

Thank you!

And the Torrent kind

Nothing yet. Patience! It will be labeled DVD-9 Version and be under the bittorrent links. No one has uploaded it to the bittorrent network, so there is no link yet.

Yaaaayyyyy! :-)

Thank you again, Ady! I can't wait to get this and start sharing it with everyone to whom I've already promised copies!

(. . . speaking of which -- I'll definitely be seeding a torrent once it's up. Any word on who might be making that happen?)

Take care,
Sojourn

I too will be seeding when it comes up. I also just noticed the PURIST is torrented too, I might seed it as well.

does anyone have any time to do 'a making of: star wars revisited'...

or has it been done? (extras, test footage, etc)..

and i don't mean going back through this thread, and checking
every page for developments and chronicling them..

i mean like an interview, with footage of how it was made
etc....yes, even if it means interviewing adywan only
to get his thoughts on it...

after seeing all the work that went into it, it would
be nice to preserve the effort that went into making it also..

I think they tried, but Ady doesn't like the sound of his own voice so it makes him recording himself difficult. I'd love to see something like that, but I'm sure a lot of the test footage and such would have been lost in one of the two or three hard drive crashes.

Alternate idea - instead of showing DSII at the end of Empire, just imply that that's where the fleet is headed after the Falcon escapes them at Bespin.

Falcon goes to hyperspace.
Vader pondering what just happened.

Vader (walking down the length of the bridge): "Admiral Piett, set your course for the Endor system."
Piett (as Vader crosses in front of him): "Yes, Lord Vader."

Fleet goes to hyperspace.
Continue with ending of film as it exists.

If the timing is right, you won't even have to worry about lip sync. With Vader, it's just a matter of pacing for how fast he walks vs how fast the line is, and with Piett, it's a short enough line that he should be able to get it off during that second or so that Vader's cape blocks our view of him.

We don't need to see DSII. For the people who know what happens at the opening of Jedi, this scene is an easter egg. For people who don't know (kids of the future), it will give them something to reference back to when they do see Jedi... "Ah, so THAT'S why the fleet went to Endor at the end of Empire!"

This way, the implication is that DSII has been under construction for a while and going there is just a matter of "getting on with business".

Not a bad idea, but how are we going to get James Earl Jones and Kenneth Colley to film this for us? ;-)

I know what you're describing, but I think that scene ends best when Piett is just waiting to be choked and Vader just walks right past him silently.

But will you remove the Death Star under construction from RotS, or that thinking way too far ahead?

I like the idea for RotJ's opening. I always thought it was weird that Vader comes from a regular Star Destroyer. You could use the shuttle leaving Bespin in ESB (cut from your version) as the shot of it leaving the SSD. Then maybe you can use the shuttle dropping from the opening for Needa's shuttle in ESB!

...Could this become the new 'flipper debate'?

I missed the Flipper Debate of 07 (and I still don't know what side I would have been on), so I'm all for this one. But then again the arm had to be changed, it was just a matter of what to change it to. The DSII doesn't have to even be hinted at in ESB.

I keep going back and forth. It'd be really neat, but completely unnecessary. I guess what really sells me on the idea now is cutting it out of the ending of RotS. After spending 20 years on building a smaller Death Star, there is still no way that they would have learned enough from building it that they would be able to build an even bigger badder one in 1/4 the time. Maybe I'm more for the idea of taking the DS construction out of RotS than I am of adding it to the post-credits of ESB...

i like all of the changes i have seen these movies in the theater back in 1977-1983 i think he made the movies just that much better by adding to them the only thing that i find funny is in the dvd version of the empire strikes back darth vader says "thats it thats the system and im sure skywalker is with them" but when he is talking the the the emperor he says im sure that the young rebel that destroyed the death star is the offspring of anakin skywalker and darth vader says how is that possible you would think that they would have cought that mistake other then that i love every thing he's done to the movies i am a die hard star wars fan i was ever since 7 years old thats when i seen the first star wars in the theater in 1977 i dont know why people bit-- so much about what he has done to the movies i think it makes them that much better just my 2 cents.

That is the longest sentence I've read in a long time.

my small town Walmart doesn't have anything besides DVD-5s

That's partly my problem too. I don't think the Walmart has any and Staples has maybe one kind, and charges an arm and a leg for them. (they were 2 for $12 at one point!)

I've had to explain to my wife several times already why I can't just use the 30 blank DVDs I have or the hundreds they have at Walmart. I also have to explain why the version of Revisited I already have and made a dozen copies of isn't good enough anymore. I have to say that the one I have isn't the final draft, and this is the LAST ONE. I'll still burn the DVD-5 for other people since I have so many blanks, but I want at least one DVD-9 Ultimate Final Edition Director's Cut.
