STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I love how we can go on and on about how to fix something, and not only was Ady aware of it, he fixed it already. I'm all for incorporating Angel's work, especially for the added detail he gets out of the shots.

I'm sensing the Visual Comparison for ESB is going to make the ANH one look like something-that's-not-as-impressive. Please tell me you've started already.

Don't take this the wrong way ImperialFighter, but you sure do use a lot of bold and underlining and italics in your posts. Perhaps it's your thing, like DAYV's all-caps or negative-1's spacing, but maybe just a tad less emphasis? Just something to consider.

He likes to stress certain elements. When he sends you 12 emails of tweaks to do on exact frames from a movie, you become grateful for them.

I still don't get what you are saying, it's more of an "anything the prequels did is bad, anything the OT did was good" mentality, there was nothing wrong with Yoda's speech, it suits his character. Who are any of us to say how he should speak anyway?

Because there's no way he could speak like he does in the PT as a simple quirk, he would only be able to do that with an actual, concious effort. "Around the survivors, a perimeter create", or "that you are right, I hope".

That's ridicuous, and just more of the flanderization various characters got in the PT. Palpatine has a tendency to cackle in a sinister manner in ROTJ? Well now come ROTS he never stops laughing and cackling like an idiot. Yoda sometimes says his sentences in the wrong order? Well now in the PT every line is like that, even lines he couldn't possibly have done without purposely thinking about them first.

I agree with you. How many lines in the OT have Yoda speaking backwards? A handful? I always thought they were something to do with him being alone for so long, or part of his test for Luke. Then the prequels it looks like he SANED up for Luke. Ridiculous.

Hard/impossible to fix, but ridiculous.

If you were a gangster bent on hiding from the authorities, wouldn't a smokestack belching noxious clouds be a little noticeable?

Heck, put a strung up droid like the one in the droid workshop on the path. Scare the crap out of 3PO.

I doubt he's hiding in plain sight like that. Everyone knows he's there. Unless we can somehow make it known to the audience that its supposed to be secret...

Maybe not. ;-)

AOTC should be made to be more like ESB, not the other way around.

Absolutely! That is exactly what it sounds like Ady will do for AOTCR. And I absolutely agree with that particular sentiment.

Please, Ep2R. I very sincerely doubt the prequels will be keeping their names. And AOTCR is a mouthful, no?

I'm also for taking the extended podrace scenes on the TPM DVD and cutting some of them into the film cut and then shortening the podrace to two laps by taking some existing scenes out. For instance, there's a cool shot of Anakin on the deleted scene where one of his engines comes off and his pod starts spinning but he keeps his cool and hooks it back up. Shows he has the skills.

If I remember correctly, that bit where Anakin is spinning was a deleted scene as far as the Theatrical goes, but on the DVD George added it into the film. Having said that, I hate that bit. That magnetic tool is lame.

Maybe replace those Tusken's with Aayla Secura?(if that could be done).

If there was another Jedi on Tatooine, wouldn't she be helping her fellow Jedi out?

Ah dammit. I hate these prequel names. I was thinking of that bounty hunter with the pale skin. The woman with the big guns.

The girl who is standing around during the podrace and Lucas swore up and down was going to play a major role in Episode 2? I'd rather have her deleted, and while corny, Tuskens shooting at the race for giggles makes more sense than an obvious assassin take pot shots at pod racers.

About the 005 page, are you guys for the Boba Fett changes? (the having him take the plans to the rebels). It could work. I don't know how you would make the new scenes. It would take him out of the SB battle, therefore shortning it. How would you kill him off, the Falcon?

Personally, I'm for the complete removal of Boba Fett from Return of the Jedi. He does nothing, serves no purpose, and him dying only upsets people. Him taking the plans to Rebels is a nice idea, but I don't think its possible or has a point. Having him stand around Jabba's Palace to leave before anything happens and have conversations with characters who only give speeches just won't work with existing footage. Anything else will look like a bad fan film.

Im strongly suspecting that was my origanal template used there. A load of e-bay sellers used it after i uploaded it here. Although you can get the backing cards in high rez on the net if u know where to look. No worries.

Thin pack though double 0?

Do you still have me rapidshare link for the concept art?

I found the template I used at the Forgotten Force Ultimate Resource Guide. It's pretty low res, which is why I wanted to start again. Do you have templates at a higher res?

Yes, originally my ANHR was in a thin pack (they were cheap and take up less space on my shelf), so I figured there was some demand there. Then I got a 4 DVD box and put all 4 versions in one box (DVD9, DVD5, PURIST, XVID).

I don't still have it, its floating around on the ESB & ROTJ Thread I believe.

That highlights the problem with TPM; it's structured around the wrong character - Padme. The blockade of Naboo should just be a MacGuffin to get the events in motion and lead to them meeting Anakin, which it does, but it becomes the actual focus of the story and the goal of the characters. Anakin is secondary, when he should be the focus. Instead we get an entire movie wasted on his introduction, a fatal flaw.

I don't always agree with DV, but THIS is so true.

I even think this is THE biggest problem with TPM. The MacGuffin is usualy the thing the characters care about but the audience not. In TPM we, the audience, are suppose to care about taxation and blocus of Naboo while we just want to know what the characters feel and think. We only have "I'm cold" and "I sens much fear in you" (notice how Yoda needs to explain how Anakin is feeling. It's not a good thing when you need to tell the audience what you could have shown. An now I'm waiting for the Ric Olié post.)

I always agree with DV, and agree that is true. And you're right, TMBTM, being told what should be shown through character action is really very poor.

You would. :-P

It's interesting that if we complain long enough about something, you post a new picture to refute it. BTW, I hate what you're doing with the Wampa. It's going to look stupid. I don't trust your creative decisions.

LOL. I think everything on ESB:R is wrong ;-)

ha ha. nice try you two. But i haven't shown anything new because the exact same shot with the colouring has already been seen on my AVCHD version of ESB

Ady, didn't you get the memo? Lucas was going back to the original script with a blue Yoda on the DVD release. It was his vision all along! How dare you change it for "consistency" or "returning to the original"! :-P

Does anyone think that Vader's entrance in the Hoth battle is weak? He comes out of nowhere.

I agree to a bit. I think this was discussed very briefly a long time ago in this thread, or in the "wish list" thread. One suggestion, as I remember it was that there would be a shot where the AT-ATs were followed by a landing shuttle or star destroyer emerging from the cloudy sky. (or is it just in my head?)

We did discuss it on one of the threads, but any addition would destroy the pacing and is really unnecessary, much like the "how did Vader get back to his Star Destroyer, show us his ship landing George!" scene in the SE.

Your family sounds awesome. Does your 6 year old truly understand the whole "Luke's vision of his own face under the mask of the phantom Darth Vader" or does he think he just isn't wearing a mask? ;-) Would love to see pictures, especially of Baby Yoda LOL

We're wearing our Ren Faire costumes my wife made over the summer (a preview pic from the faire we made it for):

It Won't Shrink!

We spent a lot of time and money on making those outfits to not wear them!

We've done Star Wars in the past, in fast shortly after we started dating (2004):

LOL. This book really should--nay, MUST--be written!

On a similar off-topic topic, does anyone know if there is a video on the net of all of Ric Olie's dialogue assembled into one moving and powerful montage? If so, I'd love to see that.

Someone posted this the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meemZeaKtRQ

It is a bit of an odd way to bump your own ideas but who I am I to talk I used to deliberately wear odd socks in the eighties?

Adding a few new skiffs and maybe a second smaller barge would make the party seem more like a decadent joyride (the palace seems to hold a lot of people some of which may not be important enough to travel with Jabba or might want to show off their own ships). Having more people there could crank up the threat when Luke turns on the Jedi charm.

Though as always it would be a lot of work integrating it into the existing elements in a convincing way.

Regarding the hordes of others that might want to attend, I thought of actually adding a spectator stand, like from the Mos Espa arena. After all, these are public executions and Tatooine isn't the most progressive planet on that front. I'd love to see a crowd cheering on the executions, and then even Luke and co when the tide turns.

Heck, it could be the Mos Espa arena. It's not really the sort of thing most people would do, but I'll put it on the list.

Where did the Mon Calamari come from?

Ah-hah, but he brought up the Original Star Trek... Where man travels from planet to planet in their fancy spaceship and mostly visit non-space-faring peoples. He also brought up Babylon 5 where they are middle of the road or slightly higher.

I, of course, fell back on every alien invasion story where they come to Earth.

I was going to bring up the original Star Trek also, but in the sense that its all about the morality. Kirk went to several planets where it wasn't the tech, but his morality that changed them. The one that sticks out in my mind is "The Apple" where he introduces both love and murder to a culture, but you have to take the bad with the good because that's the human way!

IMO, most of sci-fi comes down to moral humans > any alien. Of course, no one goes to a movie and roots for the aliens to win (unless it's Aliens vs Predator, of course. Or District 9).
