I think my favorite shot is this one:
Love the head-on Star Destroyer and the Falcon flying towards the screen.

Finished the comparisons. You can find them here. If you see something I missed in the description, let me know.

Thanks for the Comparisons 005! I still want to know how you get the snapshots with so accuracy :P

Nothing fancy, I just have Wookieegroomer's splitscreen file, run it through Windows Media Player, pause it and Print Screen, and crop the images in Photoshop. I do it by hand, makes me feel more like a detective.
This is all I could get done before I have to leave work:
Not sure on the accuracy of the comparison on this last one. Looks like Ady fixed the scaling. The frame is the same of the asteroids nearest the Destroyer.

Who knew Ewoks could moonwalk?
I think they were just messing around as opposed to being actually drunk. Drinking booze is actually a very bad idea health-wise when performing in a mascot type costume.
I think George will be making sure they get neutered if not fired. ;)
Do you have experience in this matter? ;-)
Seriously, what the heck?

Wow, FANtastic! The difference in color gives a bit more depth and pop to the Hanger shot. Looks great!

For those of us bothered by the Endor Holocaust Theory, are there any suggestions for averting this?
from what i understand is that the rebels intercepted most of the debris before they hit the moon. that's EU however.
still, most of the debri i would think would burn up in the atmostphere.
It's an EU solution for an EU problem.
In the OT, the solution is simple: there is no Endor Holocuast. Plainly, the following evening everything is fine on Endor. The DSII's explosion had no serious effect on Endor.
If you're bothered by a problem that's not in te moive, there are a number of excellent (re: silly) explanations offered for it not in the movie. My favorite is the wormhole that takes away Vader's super glove.
I still can't believe the EU acknowledges that series. Ugh.
All you're doing is making me want you to basically animate the entire movie frame by frame to make these enhancements!

The Phantom Menace:
A boy born into slavery on a backwater planet meets some strangers who are actually warriors marooned on his planet after a battle in an intergalactic Space War. The boy is intrigued by the strangers and the idea of life away slavery. He helps them repair their damaged spacecraft so they can return to the War. The boy leaves his life of slavery with the warriors and is introduced to the vastness of the galaxy. He joins the War effort and is trained by the warriors.
Well... that's maybe shorter than it needs to be, but that's the kernel of story in Phantom Menace that I do like and think could actually be quite good if executed differently than TPM. Reminds me of the White Mountains of the Tripod Trilogy for those that have read them.
Strange, because I don't see that being the plot for TPM at all. Sure its a subplot, but the main plot is about the blockade and invasion of a planet and how when diplomacy fails you need to make friends with your enemies and drive the mutual enemies out. Which is probably what's wrong with TPM in the first place. What is supposed to be the "Story of Anakin Skywalker" ends up being put on the back burner for trade disputes.
I just realized how ridiculous this whole thing is.
To add more chaos to the mix, I'll post my patented comparison on this thread because it is more appropriate:
I commented on the Editous thread version.
Yes! Angel, its so great to see what you can contribute to ANH as well as all of the other movies. Love the additional detail present in everything, though I'm not sure you'd be able to see any of the DS from out the window in the hanger shot. And it may be too black and white for DE's tastes since that's probably the shot everyone says has the least color in Revisited. But the detail and the lighting! Wow!
My brain hurts at the idea of doing ANYTHING frame-by-frame, let alone staring at Vader for hours to: stabilize his helmet on the vane, give him a neck in his chamber, lengthen his dome in the base, and I'm sure there's other imperfections that you've already spent days fixing that no one will notice unless they see it side by side.
Who is this dedicated? Adywan, I suppose.
So let me get this straight. When they added the A NEW HOPE title in 81, they redid the whole intro including the stars (or just the static stars at the beginning), but when they went to make the SE they went to the original negative and ADDED the A NEW HOPE title again?
Weird.

Thanks for not being snooty about having the workprint, Gan!
Well, I am not really at liberty to discuss the work print, if I did then Adywan would personally come to Norway and strangle me I guess...he has my address :o
It would also be sort of bad for a Star war nut like me to be tossed out of here and never get any info about whats up and whats not when it comes to Adywans revisited projects, like what he's doing so I don't want to rock the boat.
Sure, It would be cool to post images and clips from the wp...or even talk about the changes, but I would only do so if I was given permission to do so... who wouldn't? :) but alas nay, it must remain hidden until Mr. A deems it right to do otherwise.
Thanks for the nice comment m8 !:D
I wouldn't expect anyone to post pictures and clips, but I'm sure you're just sitting there ready to explode when someone brings up something. :-D

Incredible point, Bingo!
I quickly flipped the ship:
The ship is more centered than I realized, so I think my argument has been negated by myself.

In matter of fact the whole matte needs flipping. Because now the land will be in the wrong place aswell.
crap
-Angel
No, the land is fine. It;s just the x-wing that needs fixing
Would that not throw off the balance in the shot? As it stands, it looks like the ship came from camera right and the stationary camera has the ship on the far left. If we flip just the ship, it looks like the ship came a few feet from camera left and crashed down immediately. Maybe that's just me. I'd have to see it to make a real judgment.
RoccondilRinon said:
Stop it Angel! You're giving Ady more work to do! That's the last thing he needs!
:-p
My thoughts exactly. If only someone else could make a new matte for him, perhaps as penance.
In finding a screenshot to show that Angel's ray of light wouldn't be possible, I also was reminded of another one of my gripes.
While the cockpit keeps rocking back and forth at the same rate, the outside seems to cut suddenly from the top frame to the bottom, where it continues until it hits the water.
Fixing it could be as easy as fading from the top to the bottom frame really fast, or reconfiguring the scene as follows:
Luke starts the landing sequence, shot of R2, moved beginning of cockpit, Luke concerned, continuing cockpit shot to crash.
I'm sure Ady has already fixed it though. ;-)

Couldn't it be possible to move Jabba's Palace somewhere else (another planet)? Change a few backgrounds and change a few lines and it could easily be pulled off.
I agree that Tatooine is overused.
Moving Jabba's Palace to another conveniently covered-in-sand planet would be pointless. Besides, we'd lose one of my favorite exchanges in the movie:
"I think my eyes are getting better. Instead of big dark blur, I see a big light blur."
"There's nothing to see. I used to live here, you know."
"You're gonna die here, you know. Convenient."
