Well played! I try to use that quote all of the time, but no one in my immediate flogosphere knows it.

I'm also trying to establish the word "life-log" or "flog" and the derivative "flogosphere" basically just meaning the things I say outloud to people within earshot. What do you think?

I also find myself saying "why don't you go over there while I get behind this lead shield..." from the same bit.

However, I'm not sold on the "flogosphere" term. I've only said "blogosphere" a couple times and felt nasty doing it. I prefer "IRL".

Anyway, to all the smart alecks out there... let me rephrase it and see if it meets with your exacting standards:

Hey adywan (in all seriousness), do you think "when it's done" will be in the next two months?

;)

December is the target date now. As Angel said immediately after you asked the first time:

Any chance this will be released in time for the 30th anniversary on May 21st?

Well May 2010 is out of the question for a release date now.

Must have missed it in the shuffle since then, eh? ;-)

Because they chose to go back to the original camera negative, with no generation lost. Also using this source they needed to redo the opticals and had to find all those lucas had saved and recomp them.

I'll never understand how they had to go back to the original opticals and redo them, but still have the same garbage mattes and transparent elements...

Oooohhh... Busted!

There are elements that are obviously recomped (repositioned Snowspeeders and Jabba's Sail Barge), but there are still transparent cockpits/ships by the boatload.

Ady, sorry if this question has been asked before but will Jedi be available any time within the next few months?, watching the ending of Jedi with that hayden fella at the end sickens me .

Jedi probably won't be done until next year sometime in preparation for the Revisited edit. He's still working on Empire: Revisited through the rest of the year, but who knows? This project was originally a surprise project that he released without warning, he could finish RotJ if he gets time and release it before next year, but I doubt within the next few months. Sorry.

I can logo it up too, though it took me YEARS to perfect my personal logo. I started with Paint, moved up to CS1, redid it with CS3, then redid it again in CS3 with all of the tricks I had learned since and Adywan's official saber colors.

I like the idea of doing something with your "Fusion" name. My friends and I always liked the "fuuuuuuuuuusion-- HA!" We could play with that...

If that is the case, what was the big deal on the 1997 "restoration" with claims the films would be faded past the point of no return if they had not acted in time?

Lord of the Rings Theatrical Blu Ray Trilogy ruined By DVNR.

Is there any possibility the EE won't suffer the same problem? Doesn't seem likely...

I'm holding out for the EE's anyway. I hope they are better quality, or I might as well stick to my DVD's. Did I ever tell you that I went to Lord of the Rings day? The day before Return of the King came out they actually had copies of the EE's for the first two movies printed to film, and we watched both EE's and the premiere of RotK all in a row. That was a long day.

But they could scan those copies in if they really wanted to, to get the grain back.

Does anybody have those screens from the DVD for comparisons sake?

Awesome thread idea, vfp. Which reminds me, why not add common abbreviations for people's user names?

True. I've got "005" and some people call me "double", which I don't care for. I'd rather it be "five" if not 005

I call ImperialFighter "ImpFight" sometimes, or at least I want to.

There was a time when I tried to refer to Bingowings by as many variations as I could (Bungowings, Bangowango, etc.)

I assure you, I have not conspired anything with or for Adywan. He shares some things with me before he does others, but that's only been one or two times.

Here's another question in regards to the klingon attack on the Enterprise. You say you're going to have the Klingons open fire on the Enterprise which will cause Chekov's station to burn him and engineering to go haywire. How will you handle Enterprise's damage? Will their shields be up during the attack and everything that goes on inside just be a reaction, or will the Enterprise lost it's shields and sustain physical battle damage on the outside?

We don't have details on what FF is planning, that was just my suggestion. My further suggestion is yes, the shields were up. Since all of the damage we see is electrical, it could be the shields overloading through consoles and such. Adding damage to the E for every shot afterward would require a ton of work that I don't think any of us could do. We could replace every shot of the ship with one from Star Trek 2 or 3, but then people would start to wonder why she always seems to get damaged in the exact same spots. Weak points in the hull or something?

I have two right here at my house now...

Two people fluent in Klingon? That's freaking sweet.

Well we are not "fluent", but we have had the dictionary and the audio computer program to learn how to speak Klingon for years now. We would love to give it a shot. He and I used to do voice acting for programing on our college radio station back in the dark ages.

That's pretty sweet. I wish I still worked on my college campus, they have a SWEET recording studio I could have used any time. I had a show on my college radio station back in the day (not that long ago). I'm sure yours was more entertaining, as mine was a Bible College and I had the once a week 8-midnight shift. I know for a fact no one was ever listening.

They are player generated on the more recent edition. Problem solved. :)

Fantastic! We just need a couple people fluent in Klingon to record some dialog for us!

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Angel isn't "showing off" so much as trying to inspire everyone's imaginations, including Ady's. If a picture is a thousand words, we're saving time trying to describe what we see by mocking it up. Ady uses some of the ideas from the mockups, and may even be using some of Angel's work.

I worked for weeks with ImperialFighter to do some primitive (compared to others) mockups of fleet positions around Hoth. When Ady released a clip from that section of the movie, we found that nearly everything we had mocked up had come to pass. Whether or not Ady actually was inspired by ImperialFighter's ideas has not been said, but I finally felt like I contributed something solid to the project, instead of just my comparisons.

Please mock up something if you have the time. I would love to see what you can do now!
