More Making of the Special Edition details! Yay for me!
More Making of the Special Edition details! Yay for me!
Harmy, I haven't gotten in on the fight, but I'm very pleased with the smoke-covered Jabba. It has to be better than not seeing him burp at all. It would be the ONE SHOT I'd be sad about every time I watched it, and you don't want me to have a shot like that. ;-)
Nevermind.
Eventually I'll add all of the new shots, been too busy recently.

Cant they just as easily make a movie out of Garindian from "Star Wars"?
He does just as much as Boba, and doesn't die on screen.
Yes, they have all four seasons, each one strung together into one feature length episode. It's pretty awesome.TV's Frink said:
Wait, is it streaming? I haven't picked up the fourth season yet, so...yay!doubleofive said:
Wife and I watched "The Guild" on Netflix this weekend. Wow, so stinking funny. I really don't think one has to have a knowledge of World of Warcraft in order to appreciate most of the humor. It's well acted, well written, all around entertaining.
I suppose he means the ones that were actually shot outside, but it would need to be added to stuff like the Wampa cave.TV's Frink said:

There is no need to add breath to the really outdoor scenes as they were really shot outdoors in the cold.
I forgot to rate HP7P2:
7 horcruxes out of 8

And apparently we caught up just in time for the new season! Its interesting, its a web series, 5 minute long episodes released on Xbox Live and MSN Video. Which means I can continue to watch it on my TV!
HP7P2
I'm impressed they managed to bring a traditional movie out of the last act of the book. I liked it, but it does not stand alone at all, and I think they didn't go far enough in explaining something that you would understand had you read the books. I'd go into more detail, but we'd need spoiler tags.
Oh, by the way, my favorite line was Voldemort telling Snape "You killed Dumbeldore." I leaned over to my friend and whispered too-loudly "SPOILER" ;-)
No. Not for me, no. Leave the existing characters alone, please. Make as many movies as you want in the Star Wars universe, its a big universe. Leave Fett and others alone. He's not that interesting (anymore, now that he's just a clone).
It would take less thrust to move a lighter craft, wouldn't it?
Glad I wasn't alone noticing that. ;-)CP3S said:

No.
Hahaha! He quoted me then provided an example demonstrating just what I was referencing!
That is awesome!
I think the genetic template idea was introduced because all of the pre-2002 EU having recruited/conscripted soldiers. I'm not sure there was ever a definitive statement, and it is still contradicted in older EU (wait until "Heir to the Empire", where clone troops are discussed at length). I've always been of the opinion that they tried to make clones of clones, which are really low quality who can't shoot properly. ;-)
Everything about this was terrible. Hutt beards, 3-eyed sons of the Emperor, Vader's Glove having magic powers...

I know they're crappy pictures, but I guarantee this is the same transfer. The halo around Tattooine, the blue tint. We just need to see Harmy's Glitch and we'll know for sure.
So there are rumbles on Twitter of people seeing (at least parts of) A New Hope from the Blu, and that it looks amazing and is going to be the standout of the set. I just can't believe that it's not the 2004 transfer and people are just seeing what they want to see.
We just cancelled our satellite and switched to just HuluPlus and Netflix Streaming. That should be interesting.
This also lets me watch stuff while Mrs O'Five is playing on the Xbox, so last night I watched some Doctor Who on my iPhone while she played. That's very nice.
I don't even know how to look that up. What happened?CP3S said:

3) The creepy kid at the locomotive.
Had to look up what you were talking about. Hehehe, that is really funny! Rotten little kid. He is probably still really proud of himself for that one to this day.
I don't see it as anything that ruins the movie, just a child actor making a crass little immature joke.
I would say Harmy has surpassed Ady's theatrical cuts, and they're in 720p!kermit said:
Also check out the work by Adywan. A year ago he released his "Theatrical Version" for ESB's 30th anniversary. Before that he released a greatly acclaimed versions of ANH that are more like what it seems most of us WISH the SE had been. Of course, this doesn't meet the need for a strictly ORIGINAL version for ANH, but you should check them out sooner or later.
I don't know how to tell you this, but Biggs died man. And how could Camir have gotten married to him and joined the Rebellion when Luke is the only person Biggs told?
Laundry is sexy!
I'm sorry, what?xhonzi said:
I used to be a PC gamer. I used to be a hardcore PC gamer. Back when I was a 3D modeler for commericals, my home PC was bleeding edge. It cost thousands of dollars a year, but it was always new.
You are a crazy person. It's awesome, but seems like a lot of work. I can't help but look at it because I know its new, but I'm sure most people wouldn't notice.
My vote is to do it.
Yes, you can watch the original effects or the new effects. The editing is always the same because they specifically wanted to avoid the "Special Edition problem". Aside from enhanced mattes and new space scenes, there are a handful of phaser effect changes and a couple Gorn blinks. No other effort was made to fix mistakes or visible zippers or obvious stunt men...Gaffer Tape said:
The Blu-ray uses alternate angles to branch both versions. As far as I know (but I've never actually seen it, as I have no Blu-ray player), that means ALL the changes will reverted if you choose to watch it that way.
