Hey... you have a red lightsaber now!

I have one of each color, I switch it on my mood occasionally (blue/nice, green/mischievous, red/angry). The quote made me mad enough to change it.

There are a lot more colors in the world than three ;-)

Oh, and did you use green during the Crane Bros. incident? :p
I don't think I had the multiple colors back then, but I would have.

My sabers will not go EU. These are the shades of color Adywan uses in Revisited, so they're canon to me! I should make one in honor of the 2011 transfer though...

I take back everything I said about this new digi-Yoda.

In motion it's even crappier than the original puppet.

It really looks like CGI had moved backwards since 1999 in those sequences.

The shape is more Yodaish but it moves like they aren't paying the animator enough.

That first shot of that video seemed odd to me for some reason, like there was something a little "off" with Yoda in contrast to his later scenes of the video, so I went back and checked my dvd copy of TPM for reference.... and I was right:

They did not alter the original CG Yoda model in that first shot to match the new CG Yoda model of the later scenes. Lucas, you lazy fu........

Sure enough. I agree, while the digital model is certainly better than the strange puppet, the animation, lighting, texturing, they all seem to be a bit off. It looks like they didn't have a budget for these new changes, so they did them as fast as possible just to get it done. They honestly look like the effects done for a direct to DVD or TV release, which I guess these technically are...

It has already worked though, haven't seen the guy around for a while, and I've gotten so used to just skipping over his ignored post banner I don't even notice them anymore. Can't really post in a forum if everyone is ignoring you.
I'm with 3PX, but I'll take the pledge that I was following before this thread existed and was locked.

But how does Jedi Temple work into this? How do you post in a forum if you're ignoring everyone? ;-)

I was thinking just last night how great the diversity is around here. We are all ages, sexs, sexual orientations, religious viewpoints, everything, all united by our love for what a movie franchise used to be.

Then I remembered Anchorhead, who doesn't like over 80% of the Star Wars movies. I had to amend my thoughts. But now I read he kind of wants to watch Empire again! We might have him down to less than 70%!

Something Stupid From Blu-ray.com
I think people missunderstand the originals? Because most of the action is directed at Luke they seem to think he is the focus of the three movies. The focus of the originals was Darth Vader from the point of view of Luke, how can he redeem his father and bring back the Jedi he was? - P@t Mtl

The Lucas retcon strikes again!
There is no way that you can watch A New Hope, even the Specialist Edition, and pretend that it is Vader's story. He's a henchman, plain and simple. In Empire, maybe, but you'd think when the movie splits between the two sets of main characters that Vader would have more to do since it's his story. Heck, even Jedi barely features him.

"From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker" is my new battle cry. That's the original vision, not this crap.

Wich is the better version, the dual layer PAL or NTSC? I would say the pal in case of the increased lines but still would like to hear thoughts :)
Depends on if you care about the 4% speed-up sound wise. You either get speed-up with slightly better resolution, or regular speed. Up to you, really.

Thanks to Shaft Windu, I just saw this quote:

"I remember seeing the scene and they cut to Vader and he just stares as the Emperor is doing this to his kid, and they do that two times and then finally he gets up… And it always felt like there was an emotive that was just missing. Throw it in! Im all for it!" Kevin Smith

Is this bullshit for real?
My respect for Kevin Smith is gone.

Red Riding Hood

Wow, how super bad. Boring, dull, lifeless... Ugh. The only highlights were Gary Oldman being Gary Oldman, and Micheal Shanks (Daniel Jackson, SG-1) and Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh, BSG) finding work in movies, as short lived as their characters may have been.

1 Gary Oldman out of 4 Twilight directors

This was a nice comparison I read on Google+:

The changes that Lucas has made over the years is the equivalent of someone keying your car. On an intellectual level, you know that the car still works, and its only marred a fraction of a percent of the paintjob. On an emotional level, every time you see it, it's all you can focus on, and it makes you want to rip someone's face off.

The HD redo is going to try to have the option to let you choose between music or no.

Didn't know that... That sounds like fantastic news. I'll be interested in checking that out when it comes out that is.
