My Mother worked at Wal-mart a year ago and said it was regulation that they card people who appear"Under 40" for alcohol, so it may be law at all establishments.
Indeed, Indiana state law earlier this year was CARD EVERYONE, now they bumped it back to "if they look under 40", which you are, Warb. ;-)

I heard the 2006 set with the GOUT is now gone...

Well, I have a cool story for you all. I went into Half Price Books today to see if they had used copies of the 2006 LE discs. No dice. Although I bought the 1989/1990 laserdiscs last week for really cheap from another used music/movies store, I figured I'd check out the LD selection at HPB. It's quite small next to the records - maybe 30 or 40 titles.

Yet, upon approaching the section from the side, I saw a thick black box sitting in there. Could it be? I walked closer. Was it really? Sitting in front of one of the rows was the 1993 Definitive Collection. I checked it out, verified the contents, and purchased the damn thing. It was $20 which seems like a great deal - typical price is anywhere from $50 to $200 on ebay, based on condition.

The box is a little dinged up on the corners but that's perfectly fine for me. The book is missing its slipcover but again not a big deal. The previous owner even included what must have been the backside paper slip in the shrink wrap.

So, I'm happy. I still will try to get the dvds, but finding this set was a really pleasant surprise. Hell, who knows if I ever watch them? I don't think I'll be buying a laserdisc player anytime soon. Still, good catch for $20.
I look for the same thing whenever I'm at a Half-Price Books. Great find!

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Noticed something:

http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TnFFnEF0tpU/TmtZ3HY4D9I/AAAAAAAAIjU/Q4aeh54R90c/s400/wampaarm.jpg

The black rounded corner is not a clone stamp remnant like I thought, but it seems like the actual corner of the film. It looks like the 04 transfer shows too much of the left side of the frame. This corner problem is on all of the live action footage they have of Luke on his Tauntaun. They had to have noticed it when they were fixing the arm, I wonder why they didn't just fix the corner in all of the shots.

Will you do this, Ady?

Humdinger Analysis Thread : Glitch, Cryptography or Steganography?

Oh and all this made me forget the important question - none, are you sure it's not in the WookieGroomer release? How would that be possible. Is he still around? Maybe he fixed it or something. It couldn't have just disappeared, could it?
Interestingly enough, the frame with the glitch in it is not in WG's Splitscreen at all.

Ah, now I do remember the thing about the Falcon matte... Does anyone know what that picture was supposed to be? I knew that pic in the book was a matte created for ROTJ, but never heard what pic was SUPPOSED to be there instead...
The reason why it was in there is that it was mistakenly put in the OLD definitive making of ESB book. It was a mistake that was carried over into the new one. I'm not sure what he could replace it with, as there are no mattes of the Falcon used in Echo Base. Maybe any of the other mattes... I'm not sure if the 4th printing has started yet, I've messaged Rinzler a few times on various formats but he remains silent.

Info: Adywan fund raising sale

He's doing better. He just needs money now to finish the models and new shots for his continued Revisited edits. He is always taking donations at the Paypal link on the site in my signature.

We are also doing a pledge drive on Facebook, donating a single unit of your currency on September 16th. Some have taken it further and will be donating the money they might have spent on the Blu-ray set that day.

^ Do you have pics of the Making of SW problems? *EDIT* nevermind see it's part of the same Picassa page. *EDIT AGAIN* these are just SW have you created ESB book problem pics?
I don't have ESB, I've yet to get it from the library to do a similar examination. Also, I felt if Rinzler was getting it fixed it wouldn't be necessary, but someone did point out that existing owners might want a guide. It's not nearly as bad as the ANH ones though. It's mostly the color problems that are evident in the MoESB, but I didn't look as close as I have in MoSW. As you can see, the MoSW stuff has more than just recomposites, but actual CGI additions. ESB:SE doesn't have more more than recomposites except for the Cloud City windows and all new scenes, which I think even DelRey could notice.

Redesign the site?
Time

Just noticed this. I agree, the main page needs a redesign. I'm not sure about moving the forums, that would be a pain to all of our existing links all across the internet.

But the main page could use some focus. The forums are the major attraction, but they are just a teeny tiny link at the top. I'd be honored to have my Picasa Albums on the front page to help show the changes that have been done, maybe a link to savestarwars.com for explanation why, or, with Zombie's permission, excerpts from the site of the basics.

An explanation of the forum and what it's evolved into would also be useful, so those who get to the main page directly don't immediately think they're in the wrong place.

Not sure how to do any of this, but it should be updated somewhat, at least with a News post that's not 2 years old. ;-)

What the hell is happening here???
Were the classic posters or McQuarrie art not enough that they commissioned a "Make a random Star Wars painting and be featured in the Blu-ray packaging!"

As for the painting, its the droids and a nerf herder being scared by a living starship, naturally.*

Yeah, we weren't going to be watching many games since we don't have satellite anymore, now we really don't know if we'd want to watch them anyway...

Not that I don't think the Colts can't win without Manning, its more that Manning is truly the Team Captain, and if he's off the field we've got some guy who's only been with the team for a couple weeks trying to lead these people. I'm sure he knows their names, but does he know how to communicate with them? What about all of the audible calls?

Not that Painter, who's been there for a while, was any better. He just got demolished.

Keep in mind that I don't read football news at all, this is all gleaned from the scrolling bar at the bottom of the ESPN screens on the HDTVs at Buffalo Wings & Rings.

P.S. Errata
Unfortunately, The Making of ESB went out with a few mistakes. We hope to fix all of these by the fourth printing. The biggest one-and if it's any consolation to fans, the one that has kept me up at night-is that a double-page matte-painting spread of the Falcon in the book is actually from Return of the Jedi, not Empire; and not painted by McQuarrie but by Michael Pangrazio. A host of strange circumstances went into that error, but I take the blame. Another series of small errors occurred when the publisher replaced my screen grabs from the original ESB version on DVD with screen grabs from the Special Edition DVD; Del Rey regrets the error, too.

We try and minimize all errors by having expert readers go through each of our nonfiction and fiction books, but mistakes happen. It's some sort of cosmic law against perfection.
This entry happened a couple weeks after I emailed him asking about these exact issues.

I'll buy them, but I won't be happy about it. (16%, 172 Votes)

It's this group that gets me. I guess Ady, Jambe, etc who are using it for editing or review purposes would buy it but not be happy, but it reads more like people who are forced to buy the movies.
Count me in that group as well...
-_-

However, if those reports turn out to be true and either the new PT deleted scenes are of poor standards or the deleted scenes from the previous DVD release aren't included in this newer BD set, then I'll be cancelling my pre-order with two words for Uncle George.... with the last word being "Off".
I think having no material (save for the commentaries) cross over at all is a good thing. I still have all that material, I don't need it to be repeated elsewhere. I do wonder if LFL could have brought the OT deleted scenes to a level of quality that could match current standards.
Personally, I like being able to get rid of my old discs, especially if I'm changing formats.
