STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I'm escorting aPPmaSter to the general suggestion threads, I like what he's done and think he can take over things like the RotJ Wishlist I used to run. But that's not specifically Revisited.

I can say that the donation drive went very well, though! We thank you for your generosity, we'll all benefit from it soon enough!

I was thinking why don't we give the films versions numbers. :)

The originals would obviously be 1.0

Any changes before 97 would be 1.x. All the audio mixes for ANH could be 1.1,1.2, etc.

97SE would be 2.0

2004SE is 3.0

2011SE is 4.0

And I would argue the 70mm ESB should be considered 0.9.

What do you think? :P
I like it, but not sure how to integrate it into the existing comparisons. So maybe for another project, like a simple list project (which I am not doing!)

There is another related species of cyborg (which I shan't spoil with details here) who are basically insane children who kill for fun.
Thanks for that, I know I'm asking a lot not spoiling potentially 50 year old information. ;-)

Trust me, doubleo, by midway through Series 3, you'll wish Rose Tyler had died during "Doomsday"; by the end of Series 4, you'll be wishing she'd died at the end of "The Parting of the Ways" rather than Nine...

That's interesting. I'm not sure what this means at all, which makes it even MORE interesting.

OT Deleted Scenes Discussion

I'm glad lucasfilm didn't bother to do any cleaning of the deleted scenes. At least that way people like MagnoliaFan can start from essentially the raw materials with no Lucasfilm screw ups when doing any fan restoration/tinkering (as opposed to something like Harmy's despecialized edition which can never be totally rid of the crushed blacks as they are part of the source material).
As a wise man once said, "why let LFL do it half-assed, when we can do it full-assed ourselves."

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

I noticed that most of changes I mentioned on my site have actually been implemented by adywan :) Personally, I'm very relieved to see the Jabba scene gone completely, as well as the fixed arm on the floor, and the new Alderaan approach is awesome. That's just a few picks out of the many many things I adore about SW: Revisited.

What do you guys think of some of the other changes I mentioned that weren't implemented, like Obi-Wan saying, "I wanted you to have this..." instead of, "Your father wanted you to have this...", etc.?

The whole list can be found here:

http://swmasteredition.blogspot.com/search/label/ANH
We were playing with "I wanted you to have this" the other day! It is a possibility!

Still not sure why the Tardis and the Doctor weren't sucked through the crack with as much easy as everyone else.
Yes, Doctor and Rose certainly have grips on them! But the TARDIS not getting sucked in bothers me now! ;-)

Thanks for the info on the old Cybermen. Seeing them as Communists / Fascists makes a lot of sense.

Mod Markings

Maybe there should be some kind of marking to denote the moderators, so that newbs know that they should really pay attention if they get a warning from particular people. Like their names show up in a color, or MODERATOR written under their avatar.

Since we have more than the 2/3, it might be good to start that up. It also would keep some of us from pretending to be mods. ;-)

Just finished "Army of Ghosts / Doomsday". Great stuff there. I loved the interaction between the Daleks and Cybermen. Even only watching the new series, I thought they were a bit too similar, seeing them try to communicate to one another was priceless.

And once again, the Doctor saves the day without using weapons. I love that. He outsmarts things, using all kind of timey-wimey science, but still, its better than him just blowing stuff up (not that he doesn't do that sometimes).

And losing Rose was heartbreaking. I've only met the Runaway Bride at the closing of the episode, I already don't like her.

I just came from the shop. I went there to buy the new Queen DVD and I suddenly found myself buying the 9BD set for 100 Euros :-(

Found yourself? Did you black out? ;-)

I have a serious problem - if the salesperson is a beautiful girl, I switch to a mode, where I say yes to everything :)
I'm sure you impressed her by spending 100 Euros on Star Wars. ;-)

Might it actually be a thing to consider making a separate list for each release? Original Release and re-release alterations, 97SE, 2004SE, 2011SE.
I'm not sure about that, but if I did, I'd want all of the changes that started in 97 to be from the 97 SE, and the source I have isn't strong enough, nor would I want to redo all of those wipes...

So, I've already got "2011 Changes", because that's news. Then we have all of the other changes, soon I'll make a "Theatrical Changes 35/70mm" or something for changes that were in theaters at the same time.

In my opinion... this thread is no longer the solution, but has become part of the problem. I mean, I think the intent of this thread is/was working, but when it pops up now... it just reminds people of the guy we're all ignoring.
It's not The Game, we don't lose if we remember what's happening.

Crap.

Watching the extras of the fore-mentioned Doctor Who DVD I discovered that the guy supplying the effects for their special edition was none other than farmergeddon71 so effectively not only have they put out a special edition with the original but they did the equivalent of getting Adywan to do their special edition for them and paid him too.

Even the preservation team is comprised largely by expert fans.

Lucas you are doing this so wrong.
What's funny is while I read about the "Day of the Daleks" DVD a couple weeks ago, it was just yesterday when I wondered to myself, "I wonder if the original version is on there, that would be a coup". And lo and behold, Bingo is here to reassure me that some people can do things correctly.
