STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Yeah you've got to wonder either what kind of people they have doing this work, or what pressure they must be under if they're missing stuff like this. It's staggering at times.
The fact that this is a Special Edition mistake is what's really interesting. In recreating the wipe, some kind of half exposed frame was used. The fact that it's coming off a wipe means that it could have been Pacific Titles that made the mistake, but no one noticed during QC for the past 15 years?

Hey I'm not complaining about this edit for the sake of it, Ady did some exceptional stuff. I just find the minute details a little irrelevant, when there are bigger things you could address. So don't polarise what I'm saying, just because I dare to make a criticism. That would be truly sad.
I'm in this for the little things. I can't unsee continuity errors, this kind of thing is exactly why I'm helping out with this project.

Lucas never focused on the little things in the SE, of course, he ignores the bigger things too, just makes changes no one asked for. ;-)

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Ah, one of the few times that Rinzler's shots from the GOUT weren't replaced by the publisher with the "higher quality" shots from the DVD.

The links seem to use the images from the screensaver collection, which someone uploaded at some point. If Harmy doesn't have them, I've got them available. None of them are any he seems to be having problems with though.

Oh, and I got another comment about the crawl length last night. I'm considering cutting out some of the lines and the first song, which would make it roughly 1/3 shorter.
It is a really slow start for not that many (good) jokes. And it spoils the best part, Anakin's TRUE parentage!

Did you buy the set? Just curious, as I've been trying to find out which version was in it for months now. All the Amazon "reviews" were of no help.

Even the fellow with website showing off his huge SW video collection over at the Home Theater Forum was balking at buying that behemoth!
I did not, I'm going by the same logic TServo had, we'd have heard if it was the GOUT. Just the fact that the choice had to be made between a new version of the film or a crappy laser disc transfer is what gets me.

There are a few little bits that could be cut out because they do nothing either for jokes or for keeping any sense of continuity. In fact, that quick shot of Anakin's intro at the podrace ("a local boy") is one that I could easily lose. A couple of ship landing shots also fall into this category. Not sure if it's worth the bother, however. Again, it really doesn't amount to much time at all.

And I like that Qui-Gon looks paranoid during the underwater scenes, always looking for the giant fish which never shows up.
And I don't blame you, I blame Lucas for making us have to cut around this thing to begin with.
