Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

No, that's not really it. It's hard to tell from YouTube but look for specs of dirt - Since the CG shot that replaced this one in the SE used the same background, I replaced the parts of the background that were usable from the SE and then I cleaned up the the remainder of GOUT footage frame by frame in photoshop.
That was going to be my guess. I always found that interesting that they rendered the CG on the same plate as the original effects.

The melted bars thing really baffles me. Presumably that was an actual on-set explosion and not a special effect added in post-production, right? So why did somebody take it upon themselves to think it was not good enough? Is this a case of "Reality Is Unrealistic"? (as they say on TVTropes) Somebody thought what was actually photographed didn't measure up to their conception of what it ought to look like, even though that's what it actually did look like? And for just a couple of frames nobody would notice on their own? What the heck is that about?
I don't think there was an on-set explosion that blew out the bars. There were probably two sets of grates, one full and one cut open. They show the full grate, then replace it with the broken one and blow up something behind it. It's a jump cut, just a pretty well covered up one.

Shot List Spreadsheet - v0.6.05 - 6 films - Multiple SW Audio Mix Changes Added Recently

I wondering if the tracks were 99% the same if only the changes would be evident. That wouldn't help for things coming out opposite speakers, but if you nested the whole tracks into mono tracks, then set one as Inverse, wouldn't it negate all of the sounds except the ones that didn't match?

Discussion: Original versions on DVD wanted ... What to buy?
Time

A member here named Harmy is hard at work on using the HD versions of the films to recreate the original versions the best he can. I'd hate to advise a lady who came here to ask where to buy the original versions to download questionably legal ones, but they are the best possible versions out there without Lucasfilm releasing it themselves.

I had a theory once. Something similar to your DIF project, but with audio. I know that you can make karaoke-type tracks by splitting a stereo file, inversing one of the tracks, then merging it. I wonder if there's something similar we could do that would eliminate all of the identical sounds and leave the changes...

2nd - the first group of gifs was good, but this second selection is priceless. those shots of heath ledger are disturbing. what the hell is going on with that orange hair and that purple pimp blazer he's wearing??!! and is he performing in some sort of amphitheater with that microphone? someone has to explain this to me. i obviously haven't seen the movie...
"10 Things I Hate About You". Actually a pretty good movie.
