You know, I'm kind of kicking myself right now. I just had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and we talked about the SE/OT thing and I didn't really mention the site. Would have given it a lot of legitimacy if Hollywood Reporter mentioned it in next week's issue. I guess these are the things you learn the hard way.
Secret History is close enough. You did plug your book at least?! ;-)

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!

An article complaining about a kids featurette being a kids featurette?! That "journalist" sure has a problem with other people tastes by calling everyone who considers themselves part of the audience,"little kids".

Can't get more ridiculous than that...
Perhaps you're not familiar with io9? Every article is like that. It's cute at first, but then it makes you want to kill something.

As for the trailer, that was pretty terrible, even if it was a kid's movie and didn't contain an hour of discussion on the taxation of space routes. Talk about over-selling it.

Surprise! I'm alive and well. Just been having some time off (mostly) to focus on other things. Now that I've gotten stuff sorted out I'll be back as regularly scheduled. Sorry if I worried anyone. I'm currently slogging through two months of unreplied emails and such. If you tried to get ahold of me and I never got back to you, don't take it too personally.

ORIGINAL IDEA: "Untitled Moon Landing" - Comedy
Time

Alright, here's what I came up with yesterday:

THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT:

Bay of Pigs succeeded, Cuba independent, no more threats of Communism in West.

No Vietnam war, either N Vietnam not aggressive or S Vietnam gives up.

Russia focuses on Space Race, not Nukes as much.

Without the wars, neither Cold nor Hot, America is bored.

“Nixon 60s” defined by laziness.

Nixon wants something better to define his presidency, and maybe a bit of him wants something to spark excitement in the lazy generation he’s created.

I'm imagining most Americans are sitting around watching TV, so they'll believe anything the TV tells them. NASA launches a rocket, it orbits for a bit, and they bring it back. However, is the rest of the world that lazy? The Russians would be trying to prove that the Americans were faking it, unless they were too busy with their own fake. Maybe that's part of the ending too.

"Why couldn't the Russians tell we were faking it?"

Then cut to the Russians still painting their miniatures for their version or something.

Anyway, I'm thinking this won't be a mean-spirited comedy, but maybe a feel-good one about people uniting for a common goal, even if that goal is to lie to the whole world.
