I saw a goofy mongo kid yesterday - it made me feel good about myself.

Please explain... was he from the planet Mongo, Congolese, from a small town in Indiana, from a city in Chad, Steve McMichael, a Cuban Jazz percussionist or suffering from Down Syndrome?
That's what I was afraid he meant. Thank goodness he meant skateboarding, which is still probably based on that terrible definition.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I seem to remember reading somewhere (almost certain I didn't dream it) that for the PT Ady will be zooming a lot of effects shots to tighten the focus. Obviously, the further you zoom into a shot the lower the reolution becomes. Given that the maximum resolution that currently exists for any Star Wars film is 1080p I assumed the 720p was a way to maintain high definition and allow for some room to zoom too.
Also true.

Voice dubbing in the first film

The Death Star officer who tells Vader "There's no one on board, sir. According to the log, the crew abandoned ship right after takeoff" is dubbed by none other than Harry Shearer, of "The Simpsons" fame. Only a couple places online mention this, but I spotted this one myself first.

[citation needed]! - not saying you're wrong, but it could just be a guy who sounds enough like Harry Shearer to be mistaken for him. A quick Google only turned up one other reference, and that's just a comment on a blog.

DE
I messaged him on Twitter, let's see if it works.

So...Growing a Riker beard is kinda the opposite of jumping a Shark on skis?
That is the exact definition (WARNING: link to TVTropes, only click if you have nothing better to do for the rest of the day).
From what I understand Battlestar Galactica is what Voyager would have been like if Ron Moore had his way..
It certainly sounds like it by the first few commentaries I've listened to on BSG. He talks a lot about how you have to shoot Trek a certain way, from certain angles only, and how he deliberately had them avoid doing any of that on BSG.
Incidentally - anyone else seen the teaser trailer for BSG: Blood and Chrome? - looks pretty flashy but there's not a lot to go on yet, just a lot of action scenes set to Trent Reznor's version of Immigrant song.

Cool to see classic era cylons, raiders and basestars.
Looks so awesome. I'm especially eager to see how they do the Galactica without any sets. They filmed most of it on greenscreen and just recreated the sets from the series in CG. This was supposed to save money, but I don't understand how it could be cheaper... But the only Cylons I noticed looked too much like the new models from the series, not the toasters they showed in flashbacks.

Too bad SyFy is hell-bent on not releasing this, even though its been done and sitting on a shelf since November. Come on, we want to give you money to watch this. I will buy a Blu-ray tomorrow for $30 based on that clip they didn't want released, which is $30 more than they have now. They say they want to make it into a web series, but I don't see SyFy taking that risk, unless they just sold it off to Hulu or Netflix and let them take care of it.
Been checking out AWAKE and it's interesting so far.
I will be upset when (not if) this show gets cancelled because no one gets it. After we watch the pilot, I turned to my wife and said "I know we'll get a satisfyingly ending to this. Worst case scenario, it gets cancelled and they add a black screen to the last episode saying 'The Son Universe was the real one. Sorry if you thought it was the Wife Universe. The End.'" ;-)

I don't actually own many DVDs anymore. I buy them, rip them as high-quality .mkv files onto my hard drive, preserving the audio commentaries and subtitles and all that jazz, and play them using my Seagate FreeAgent Theater+ media player box thingy. I then sell the DVDs used, because, well, I never use DVDs anymore.
I'm pretty sure if you don't own the discs anymore, you can't have the digital copy. At least, that's the rules we play by with fan edits. I have all of my CDs ripped, but they're all in boxes in the basement, but I'm pretty big stickler to these kind of things.

Idea: STAR WARS - REVISITED (Adywan) | Addition of music from the other films, too late to change?
Time

ANHRHD will have the Kenobi/Vader battle with or without the additional music via branching. In retrospect, I believe Ady no longer thinks the additional music was such a great idea.

And this conversation could be moved to either of these threads:

Things to look for:

-Clouds (or the City?) going past as Lando closes the top hatch.
-The all-new shot of the sun setting behind Bespin (which was shown to be the sun rising in the SE shots which are thankfully gone).
-The new Vader background complete with a shot of the outside of the Star Destroyer through the window behind him.

Too bad there isn't a way to poke fun at the gaping plot hole of how Obi Wan was going to take Fett back to Coruscant in a little one man ship. ;)
Ask the Kaminoans, who have a full armada of warships to lend him something besides a one-man starfighter?
"Hey, Longneck. Look, though I'm not the police in any official capacity, I'm going to arrest the guy who provides your livelyhood that you have to have around to do your job. Can I have a ship to take him back to Coruscant?"
