Agreed. We should have two lists. One of movies with changing ratios during the runtime, marked with whether or not the ratios made it to home video, and another of movies that have different ratios depending on the format (excluding Pan and Scan, of course).

I'm pretty sure the thread is for movies that CHANGE ratios during the runtime of the movie, and if those changes made it to home video. That's how I understood it?

Dark Knight Rises is variable in theaters and Blu-ray, and I was under the impression that Catching Fire's Blu-ray is just sticking to one. Same deal with Star Trek Into Darkness, variable in theaters (and the visual commentary track), static on Blu-ray.

I wasn't able to access early this morning until about 9:30 EST, like you said, straight-up unavailable.

It's uprezzed. There's a new version of Star Wars Begins that has HD subtitles but the video is still uprezzed.

I think it's more to show that Vader doesn't believe that Luke came alone, and agrees that the officer should continue searching for saboteurs. As for bringing them to him, it could just be so he has people to torture to convince Luke to join him.

To answer the OP, replacing soundtracks is perhaps the hardest edit to do, as one has to remove all of the original music (almost impossible) and rebuild the entire sound mix (almost impossible).

I'd go for an SSD/HDD combo. I'm sure that alone would speed up rendering times exponentially.

Nice! Though personally I'm never keen on using the THX logo on something an edit has remastered from the shoddy work of "THX". ;-)

FanFiltration started an edit a while back, but was unable to finish. I still have the complilation of suggestions here. I believe you're free to use whatever you'd like. I'd be very interested to see how my Green Klingon Cruisers would work in action (which was accomplished by white balancing to a window and black balancing to space).
