Last movie seen

Had my own Other Marvel Movies double feature last night.

The Amazing Spider-Man

About what I expected from hearing about it for the last couple years. Long, surprisingly boring at times, very unfocused. I appreciate them not immediately jumping into Norman Osborne or the Daily Bugle.

The Wolverine

Now this movie I enjoyed a lot. Even when it was slow, it was trying to tell a story of Logan coming to grips of his new reality, post-X3. The action was actiony, I liked it.

After all, the huge bodies of those AT-AT's wouldn't just be used for carrying refreshments.

Info & Help Wanted: Star Trek: First Contact & Insurrection - restorations?
Time

Un-released deleted scenes that never even made it to the DVDs were either destroyed or are sitting in a box on a shelf somewhere. As for the UK versions of FC having additional scenes, that's a little more interesting, as maybe a print could be found with them intact.

Any UKers who can confirm these, or are these Trek equivalents to Luke missing his first throw?

Alright, well, I took a look at the capture and there was a LOT of bad artifacting. Is there anyway we can get someone else to capture the footage from Epix VOD? I have no capability, but I will edit it.
I've never been impressed with the quality of cable VOD, I wonder how much is the capture and how much they just compressed it for streaming.

Ok I did a quick-and-dirty capture of EPIX's VOD presentation this morning and here are the results.

...

I made a 14GB MKV (1080i/ac3) of the capture.

I wonder how well just using that capture to fill in the rest of the frame for the IMAX shots would work, or using it to fill in the aforementioned missing frames/sections of the screen that have BTS stuff in the commentary.

I'm going to be working on that tonight for sure. It's going to help so much. Even if it's a poor bitrate, we only need a tiny amount of image to cover up the BTS stuff, so hopefully it would all balance out.

All this work for a terrible movie. I love it.
PRESERVE ALL THE THINGS!
